Thank you so much for your sharing! In my opinion, Da Nang is one of the best cities in Vietnam. We had our honeymoon there and hope that will go back to Da Nang ASAP. Best!
i live off $400.00 a month in Da Nang . once you leave that tourist area it gets a lot cheaper. this video is great for people new to Da Nang . love the channel !!
I think $400/mo is very possible if you’re single and share a room “phong tro” around $150/mo rent as average Vietnamese employee makes around $450/mo. Street foods $1-2 per day. But realistically for Westerners to be comfortable you should plan on $1200/per month.
Olga the food prices you mentioned now are cheap, you have to come and check Istanbul, food under 10$~15$ is impossible, ive been living in ist for 3~4 years, and the country has gone crazy with the pricing of things
Try an arab country like Dubai then before you complain)) If you don't like it - it's easy to move. Turkey became overpriced after all the Syrians arrived, and went completely nuts when the Russians arrived en mass. The locals are suffering the most ftom this, and they don't have an option to leave. And for you - just pack your bags and leave. Very easy. There's always an option to go back home, too. People who complain are extremely annoying. Nobody is forcing anyone to stay in any country to which they come.
Hi Olga, that was a very interesting and thorough glimpse into life in Danang as a foreigner. I appreciate the effort and time that you put into producing your videos and also that you share a lot of very useful info. Thank you !
Hi Olga, When I saw that this video was nearly two hours, I thought that I would watch it in parts, when I had time, but it was so interesting and the time went so quickly I watched it all in at the same time. I have to give you 10 out of 10 for a great production. My wife and I had a trip booked to Danang for May this year, but had to cancel it as my wife’s mother is very old. We can’t wait to visit, Danang looks great. One more thing, I really do not like the way the west portrays Russians. Olga the doctor seems like a very nice lady, and I am sure typical of Russian people in general. Kindest Regards Phil and Gloria.
You make such high-quality videos. I really enjoy them. I'm planning to visit in December. I'm already in a tropical climate. I look forward to cool weather. Hopefully, it doesn't rain the whole time.
Great video Olga and Rene. Every time I watch one of your videos at a particular place, you do such an extensive and excellent job with all the information one would want to settle in it that in my head I say, well I think this it they’re going to stop here permanently. However, after a long while you surprise us by telling us,we’re moving again and going to…..You must have ITCHY FEET LIKE ME 😂
Thank you! I would say for us it's less itchy feet and more the changing circumstances - like residency permits/visas etc. I think we would've stayed in Antalya if it was possible. But by now Da Nang became our homebase and so far things are changing for the better here. There are talks that Vietnamese government wants to introduce digital nomad and retirement visas too.
Very informative video and the prices are just about 10% of what it costs to live in Las Vegas. Banh Mi avg cost here is between $8-$12 and Pho is anywhere from $10-$20. Crazy! Thank you or cám ơn!
Hi I just found your videos. Thank you so much for all that you do. I will be coming for a week and I would love to do a meet up with experts that are retired inDa Nang. Do you have any advice on how to find people? I think we are going to try to stay at one of the beachfront hotels in My Khee beach area. We will be there Dec and Jan

@@OlgaProGoingPlaces Hi Olga, I will join up when I can rebook for Da Nang, that was my intention, but it could be a long way off so I thought a gift would be better for now.
no worries, in the Guide you can get more info to prepare for the trip, about when is the best time to come, how to apply for visa etc. And in the chat you can ask me any other questions. I would send it to you for free as a thank you for the donation.
Hi Rene & Olga, We are a Vietnamese couple with a US citizens now living in US for almost 50 years. Also we are retired. Please let us know how do we get a longer Visa to stay in VN, possible retired if it allows. My friends told us a Visa run every 3 months. We really appreciated your video and hoping to hear a good news soon. Thanks for sharing an excellent video, great foods and be well.
Hi! To find information about residency for Vietnamese you might need to consult an immigration lawyer, it is probably different for Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese. If you need information on visa runs and other useful information related to relocation to Da Nang, I offer a guide with an access to a Q&A chat with me olgapronkina.com/da-nang-vietnam/
In my opinion in Vietnam it’s similar to Thailand, and better than in India or Philippines. In a year I did not get a serious food poisoning, but we do cook at home about half the time and drink bottled water
Olga at 21:06 you pass by the hummers and the price was in the range 500-1500 Vnd? Can you explain little bit more about the prices. Must be like 500.000 - 1.500.000 Vnd?
I do talk about rain season in this video. But I understand, it’s quite long to watch in one go :) During low season in Da Nang it can rain for several days in a row and then it will be sunny and very pleasant weather for a week. Much of this video is filmed during low season. Personally, it’s my favorite time of the year in Da Nang and a welcome change after the summer heat. But it can be different from year to year, it’s impossible to predict the weather.
Hi! Yes I can. In the guide I am recommending my favorite places to shop: small corner shops & supermarkets, as well as local markets. And they are all pinned on the map that comes with a guide olgapronkina.com/da-nang-vietnam/
those are imported Western products, I’m surprised they are not more expensive than in Germany :) Also Da Nang has 1 mln population, it’s not a provincial town Price for pasta in Germany should be compared to the price for rice noodles in Vietnam to make a fair comparison
It's sad to see that digital nomads (including TH-camrs) add to the gentrification problem in local societies of developing countries. For you it might be a great bargain to live in a poor country when you make your money as a digital nomad and get paid in dollars or Euros. The local people suffer from hiking prices for rents and groceries. That's unfortunate for the people who then can't afford to live in the areas where they have been born and raised. It's something I see in many videos like this. At least you enjoy your life.
Yes, it's cheap now but look at places like Portugal that were also cheap.. within 5 years they became ridiculously expensive, hope that doesn't happen in Vietnam
@@OlgaProGoingPlaces nice thanks! do you know where I can find info about start a business there please? how is opening a business there playout with your residency there?

There are 2 big supermarkets, and if you can’t find something there it’s easy to order online from a local warehouse or from China. Literally anything you can think of can be ordered with fast delivery and cheap price (if made locally or in China). And also a ticket to KL/BKK is 50USD - there we can shop till we drop 😆 Personally I found that I shop much less in Da Nang, which saves money of course, but it also made me realize that I don’t need to buy so much stuff actually :)
