We did a playthrough over a year ago in a world that was 117 blocks wide. ChippyGaming recently started a playthrough in the same type of world, and it made me want to play something like that again. So let's take it to the extreme, and make a world that's only 24 blocks wide...

So once you kill Wall of Flesh, I'm not sure what will happen regarding the spawn of more evil biome and the hallow. It's also interesting to note that the hallow and evil biome often spawn _diagonally_ after you kill WoF.
The possibilities are:
A) neither of the biomes will spawn
B) you'll get a tiny strip of either hallow or crimson in one spot
or, the funniest option:
C) one of the biomes completely takes over the entire world
I think B will happen if he is not unlucky to get C
If it spawns normally, middle to top left will be either corruption or hallow, and middle to a little towards the bottom will be the other
It's A. This definitely isn't the center of the world, this is the edge. This IS a normal small world size, so it would infect the center. Where Wand isn't.

This is crazy, the increased spawn rates might be because of the lihzard brick, jungle blocks increase spawn rates, even if it isn’t a jungle biome

I think it may actually still be a jungle biome, just not enough to change the background; notice that at 11:37, the merchant is selling a furnace, which (at least per the wiki) he only does when spoken to in a jungle biome

10:50 I think the spawn rates may actually be higher than usual, due to the world being jungle; it might not be enough to change the background, but based on the merchant selling a furnace (see 11:37) I think the whole world is still considered a jungle biome (as the merchant only sells furnaces when spoken to inside a jungle)

@@lordpillows762 I believe it was added to help make the “not the bees!” Secret seed easier to complete- other than making the majority of the world into jungle, it also replaces all of the stone blocks with hive blocks and crispy honey blocks (depending if it’s above or below the lava layer, hive above, crispy below). I think the corrupted variants of stone survive, but you’d need to be able to purify them for stone for a furnace, anyway. I also believe that the “hell hotels” where you can find the help forge still generate, so I suppose you could look there for something that could act as a furnace, but I certainly appreciate the devs you giving you an easier way to get a furnace, as (again conveniently) your starting npc is the merchant instead of the guide

For example, it starts at 1D, but after you beat... Let's say king slime, it goes up by one.
Before king slime defeat: 1D
After long slime defeat: 2D
By the time your fighting moon lord, the game has broken the 4th wall because of its many dimensions

the larva is always the epitome of comedic timing in this game because it breaks so easily
Hardmode is just generally harder in many respects, but if there's one clip I would use to encapsulate everything bad about pre-hardmode, it's getting punched into a trap that spawns a boss in a pit of honey while building platforms.
I'm one of your Stardew Valley viewers so I know nothing about Terraria, but I still really enjoyed this! It was fun to see all the references to game mechanics I don't understand. My favorite part was the giant bee.

@@LunaExpiX I get the feeling that, similarly to stuff like Minecraft, jumping into this game with no prior knowledge is just going to lead to confusion and frustration. So I'll watch some more of these videos to see if I'm interested first, and maybe take it from there ^^
Aha, it's a fun game, this coming from someone obsessed with Stardew! And yeah... The bee larva is kind of notorious for breaking and spawning the boss if you so much as look at it the wrong way, I still haven't once broken that thing intentionally.
@@pastelshadows6437 larvas are especially bad as summoner. Just killing a normal enemy in the jungle, then boom, your whip summons Queen Bee
@@ScentedPineForest you can play your first playthrough without knowledge but as soon as you start your second one you will have a tab with the wiki open 24/7
I think it could be cool if your World had blocks that constantly required higher pickax power to mine to expand your world so like wood, meteorite, hell stone, adamantite, lizard temple block

I love the music you used for this!! Bowser's Inside Story is such a good game with amazing music. One of the best games I've ever played, very nostalgic
Shaping up to be a lovely series so far! I must say, I didn’t expect the diagonal world, but I quite like it! Gives it a unique character/distinguishing factor that I really enjoy. While the spawn rates, particularly given the compressed area in which to spawn, maybe something of a blessing (at least with regards to farming for items) and a curse (basically the rest of the time), I at least hope that things stay manageable. Also, if you have to switch to Journey mode (in particular for the sake of time), that’s 100% okay; I myself prefer Journey mode with the difficulty slider set to either master or expert (of those two I prefer expert, but ironically I’ve played far more of the master mode, no doubt in part due to the fact that in master mode everything is more painful and takes longer). Anyway! Thank you as always for the new video, fare thee well!

I think it'd work better if you made the outer Lizhard bricks also painted, to make it look like you're really walking on a map's boundaries

option four: just mod the game so it doesn't crash with a 24-block-wide world
Another idea that you could try in the future is having parts of the world being locked behind pickaxe progression, the further you get in the game, the more resources that become obtainable through progression. You could maybe even lock certain resources behind some areas as well to keep it interesting.
I'm so excited to see you tackle this limited world challenge again! I just watched the start of Chippy's video and it was very heartwarming to see him talk about your channel. You deserve the exposure and credit ^-^
I think it would've been even more interesting if someone else made it for you, and you went in blind.

Minor error in the description; the music that plays at 17:54 isn't the underwater variant of Trunk Twister, it's just one of the regular variants.
Interesting to see another challenge like this though. Makes me wonder how a world like this would be like to go through in multiplayer.

A suggestion for the world in case you do something like this again, an X shaped world but with half the world height and only 5 biomes(not counting the under world), The plains being in the middle.
Nothing beats WoS starting one Terraria series with Plack Beach playing in the background at the start. It's like a ritual at this point.

Idea for Terraria Playthrough: You can only use items that are from pre-hard mode in hardmode. You can choose weather or not the world starts in pre-hard mode. You can use the temple key and boss summoning items.

@@InfernoSpike You can also get hardmode items there that will be helpful. Also, early hard mode has nothing on pre- hard mode items only. Most pre- hard mode items are worthless in hard mode (expect potions and other stuff)

I have a stupid idea for a playthrough that no one will want to attempt, terraria but you always have the confused debuff. It should be a pretty easy mod to make. I could make it if anyone wanted.
Me trying to figure out how to code a sword: *confused unga bunga*
I've downloaded the 24 blocks world and found some interesting stuff through playing:
-The dungeon guardian doesn't spawn at all while attempting to go through the dungeon. Normal dungeon enemies spawn as well. I was able to free the mechanic before killing a single boss.
-Lihzard enemies spawn in the Golem Temple area. This is something that happens in normal worlds, though since the Golem temple isn't locked behind a door this time they're completely accessible.
I also changed the world difficulty to Expert since that's more the level of difficulty I enjoy and It's pretty challenging! Most normal arenas are too small to fit.
edit: dungeon guardians actually DO seem to spawn but normal dungeon enemies spawn just as well above a certain depth? seems inconsistent
The Dungeon mechanics might have something to do with the "dungeon point" (where the old man and the cultists spawn) being underground. On "drunk" worlds, the dungeon point is naturally underground, and to make the dungeon less annoying, dungeon guardians only spawn below a certain depth, meaning that the mechanic and regular enemies will spawn between the dungeon point and the dungeon guardian area.
I love the choice of background music, so nostalgic!

My prediction for Wall of Flesh is: It could be fine if you get it inside the tunnel, since it'll just consider any 2-block tall boundaries as floor/ceiling, and would slither alongside it. But getting it to spawn inside is probably going to be rather difficult, if not impossible. Not to mention, that you rather quickly will elevate out of the underworld
I'm curious how you'll solve it, so I hope you put out more of this, this is neat

Btw the increased spawn rates are due to the lizard brick making it a jungle which has a 50% increased spawn rate. Turn it into luminite block (which will only be useless to you post moonlord)
Luminite can be broken with a copper pickaxe iirc

Where each line of the cross is a biome... like upright is jungle, up left is snowy, down right is desert and down left is dungeon....
I really wish they'd add a non-destructible block that doesn't create biomes (maybe something that can only be broken with luminite tools), it'd make creating custom challenge maps like this a lot more convenient

You can beat the EoC to get crimson grass seeds, and then you can plant those seeds for crimson mushrooms to craft a Bloody Spine.

What about a squished world? (Burger world lol) Where its as short as possible, but also as long as possible (or a bit less cuz world length is big enough alr lol). Wings would be almost useless depending on the size, mobility would be very hard for even normal enemies, and boss fights would be super hard. Worm bosses might glitch out though. This also really depends on how high is the shortest height limit that still allows the different layers, but if its small enough to trigger claustrophobia then I think it'd be a cool idea :)

Watching this I can only imagine that if you manage to get to the pillars, they will spawn on the solid bliocks (or outside of the boundaries) and you won't be able to reach them. I hope there's probably a work-around.
If you still have the mold for the diagonal world you could let your subs make worlds for you or for others to play, to keep the surprise
If a challenge video like this were to be done again where a world is handmade, it may be best to have one of you create the world, and the other play it, so that way the person playing it doesn't know what's coming.

The Reaver Shark recently got a buff that allows it to break Lihzhard bricks.
Also, you can now get Lihzhard Power Cells in Lihzhard crates, the Pre-hardmode crate variant.
Also, Lihzhard Power Cells can now be used on the altar in Pre-hardmode.

Its a normal world but sliced by Lihzard Bricks like this world (By this shapes -> \ \ \ \ \ \ \ ) and you can only travel through hell and space (So every slice has an entrance from space at left and hell at right so it'll be so hard to change slices)
As Michelangelo painted with a brush, so too does Wand of Sparking with TEdit.
You know what I'm going to say already; love the BiS music as always. Plack Beach is seriously the GOAT song.

the bee, knockback and the pickaxe: yeah sure
I like this, hellevator denied, but a fun minecart ride if railed up.
I don't think Reaver Shark is terrible now, It has been moved to lower tiers of pickaxes but it's still one of the fastests pickaxes in pre-hardmode. When mining weaker blocks like dirt, mud, sand or ash I always use Reaver Shark instead of Molten because it's way quicker.
