I don't know what's more impressive, you mining for 12 hours and not going insane, or you filling out the notes until you literally can't put any more onto the page!!
Funny story: My buddy and I caught lava sharks while fishing so we thought it would be a cool idea to hollow out the underworld(Like destroy all the buildings and hellstone) and fill half of it with lava. It took like 4 hours to hollow out the entire map and then another hour the next day to fill it with lava. It was worth it though.

Another thing you can get from lava fishing is the Lava Absorbant Sponge, which is basically an infinite Dry Bomb that you can't throw. For a lime rarity item, you can get it super early, right as you're able to fish in lava. It would make creating an arena or emptying out small spaces way easier if fighting on the shark is impractical for certain bosses.
See, that's the sneaky thing with the "allowing only one page of notes". It forces you to go through your notes and analyze what the most important information is. Also known as "studying". Even if the class allows more notes, or doesn't allow notes at all, making that one cheat sheet is just a really good way to study!

Wanna give a slight update to my last comment, as someone that's nearing moon lord in my lava world playthrough. Hoping this is of some help. I started a playthrough like this in 1.3 about a year ago but abandoned it seeing the upcoming balance changes in 1.4, I'm currently finishing up a second one. Don't read this if it's something you want to find out blind, it's just my experience playing my world. The Mech Bosses are surprisingly easy with the lava shark, you can outrun the Destroyer moving diagonally. While fighting bosses seems really hard in a full lava world, what with it being hard to see, it does help due to slowing down enemy projectiles, giving you more time to think. Since the entire overworld basically becomes a free-flight arena, you can play any hardmode boss that can be fought anywhere like you would with sped-up baby fishron at full speed at all times. It makes running in one direction a very valid strategy. Plantera is the hardest part of hardmode. Having to flush out an entire arena and making the space is not easy, but the fight is near identical to an average Plantera boss fight. Which, is hard. Golem is funny. That's what I'll say about him. The Temple is flooded and it makes fighting him, much slower than usual. The altar will break if you try to mine it without flushing out the area. The rest of the playthrough is pretty standard. It's just harder to see things. Edit: MOON LORD IS COMPLETE PITCH BLACK. The way the Moon Lord's shader interacts with lava makes the entire world pitch black. This is going to suck to beat. This run is it's hardest and most interesting pre-hardmode. Post WOF the movement options and the abundance of faster pickaxes make it surprisingly trivial for a world where 90% of it is a hazard. The concept of mining around the space that used to be caves is silly in thought, but practical in concept. It turns the game into a very slow fluid puzzler. My time to get to hardmode was 17 hours, I can usually finish a Terraria playthrough in 20 total. Finals roll around and he made it weighted so heavily that it could fail you from a perfect 100% up to that point down to F. He allowed a single page of notes, 1 side. If he caught you with multiple pages, or flipping your notes over for a back side. Instant 0, I had the most smol, miniscule chicken scratch notes. Of which he laughed at multiple times trying his hardest to break my spirit and put me down, ended up being one of the 8 students of all classes combined who got a B or higher. 5:40 Y'know Bowser's Inside Story music kinda fits the claustrophobia, as well as y'know, it being the Bowser's Castle theme lol.
The "only allowed 1 page of notes" thing hit to close to home 😂 my senior year I had some biology class taught by the kind of teacher who hates teaching, hates kids, hates shitty pay, hates people who make him work, and really Really hated kids who got fed up with his sad existence that they just started skipping his class all together and doing his work anywhere but his classroom (me, just casually sitting in the auditorium doing biology). Thanks public education, for teaching me that almost half of the people who have any sort of power over the weak will 100% abuse and destroy those who they're supposed to protect and serve
