    Good test thank you. From my own experience I can say that BMW has updated the software meanwhile regarding estimated SOC at arrival. It adjusts now according to your driving speed after a reasonable time.

    Thank you for driving it relatively down - very important as I just saw in some EV´s, I look at you Tesla and now also Nio. After going into the last third or lower, somehow the range collapses - so you have a great range until then and after it goes down fast. So annoying.

    Goodness! It seems it's raining BMW EVs around your address. Many thanks for this video, for the rest of us with no immediate access to the Autobahn. Interesting kidney shape mimics on the dials, although it is there more angular. Great weather for the time of year. Is self steering as you demonstrated an optional cost extra, like it is in a Tesla? Those warnings of zero percent left would drive new owners nuts, I imagine. The rear space and huge bonnet (hood) suggests this is not built on an EV-specific platform which tells me to skip this generation and wait for the next one. MFG.

    Thanks for a nice video. I get my iX1 08 December. Same tyres as your test car. But I will never get close your consumption figures!!! It's cold in Norway so a will probably end up with 20 kWh + per 100 km. At least 6 month/year.

    Great test thank you for your work ! I'll be honest concerning the car, I expected more for the price tag, I'm disappointed.

    I wish EV testers would just drive as most of us would normally drive day to day. My diesel X1 has an eco mode which I've *NEVER* used.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, to compare cars we have to drive every car as similar as possible. And a range test means get the best you can, so Eco Mode.

    Usable battery capacity in iX1 AWD model is 64.7kWh and not 62kWh.

    • @BatteryLife

      I said 62? Sorry

    • @sunseeker-yb5qt

      Have you driven the iX1? All range tests (and this is as well my own experience) show that it comes down to 62kWh. Thats as well the calculated Value from Björn Nyland. At least you get no power restriction until very low singe digits SOC with the extra buffer.

      @@sunseeker-yb5qtI own an iX1. Usable battery capacity is 64.7kWh. Stop with your FUD.

    I love the look of this car but I kind of get annoyed that BMW went from making carbon fibre i3 exclusively for their EV to just doing a half hearted BEV made from their ICE chassis.
    I would have liked a stretched i3 with full sized suicide doors and a bigger trunk.

    • @fknid
      @fknid ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong. The new platform was designed from the ground up for ICE, PHEV, and EV.

    • @kevinn1158
      @kevinn1158 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fknid You can't really properly design a car for ICE, PHEV and EV. It's always going to be a big compromise. Having you seen the i4 front hood? It's huge and there's no frunk. And there's a huge transmission tunnel.
