It's good to finally more see Mini-LED TV showing up. I'm still rocking an LG OLED B6 (2016) and would love to upgrade within the next few years to a nice Mini-LED. It gives me anxiety looking at those tv legs so close to the edge..I keep mine at least 3" from the edge on my entertainment stand..amazing content btw.
LG Mini-LED features a bit more caption halo than the competition, but bearable with the benefits of IPS technology. Adding in their much-loved parallax effect, it's even more affordable than Sony TVs. TV, games and PC all in one. Made for combat. Thanks. PS Sir, you are showing great aptitude for politics.
please note that you can turn off the TruMotion in Cinema Home mode. In order to do that you need to go to the AI menu and turn off the setting that is called something like "auto adjust based on content". once it is off, the TruMotion setting will become enabled, and you can turn it off. The picture seems to be noticeably brighter in Cinema Home mode, compared to Cinema eventhough the contrast setting is 100 in both, so it maybe better to use the Cinema Home.

Hi Caleb, I've recently just bought this TV in the UK and instantly noticed bad dirty screen effect. Is there ways to fix this or do I need to call out LG to repair it or is it down to the store I got it from to exchange it? Or, will they just say it's down to the technology 🤷🏻♂️
Am deciding between 65” QNED 99 and 75” QNED 90… Is the 8k and upgraded processor worth the smaller screen size? Are there any other differences? Idc about the extra 2 HDMI 2.1 ports for the record

Caleb, im really torn with the LG QNED99 and the TCL R648. Which tv would you prefer for gaming and black levels? without seeing them both I need advice from someone who has. Thanks.
LG has a LOOOOOOONG track record of big, bright, excellent monitors for gaming PCs and they are relying on it to boost their MiniLED sales. I have a non-Mini LED LG TV and it works super well. I would get one of these.
One question for you Caleb, does 4k content look worse on an 8k TV? My experience going from 1080p to 4k was that 1080p content didn't look as sharp as they would on a 1080p. It seems the focus on 8k means high end experience will only be reserved for the 8k variants of a TV. LG is doing it with this tv, but other brands too. I don't like the idea of upscaling.
AI upscaling has come a long way in just the past few years. Look up some videos on how well the nvidea shield handles AI upscaling for an idea of where upscaling is right now. I own a shield and definitely think the 'fake' 4k is much better than 1080p.
Hi Caleb. I have a question not related to this actual video. I'm trying to decide between three similarly priced TVs. The TCL 6 Series (2021 model, $898), the Samsung QLED Q80T (2020 model, $1200) and the Sony X950H (2020 model, $998). They're all 55 inch. Any thoughts? or should I splurge and spend $1300 on the LG CX OLED?
@@Caleb_Denison Hahaha very true. I recently saw the 86QNED99UPA big boy version of this on the floor at my local Best Buy. Kind of a unicorn of sorts. But knowing I can get the 83” C1 for $1000 cheaper has me scratching my head as to why this TV can warrant such a huge price tag. I realize it’s new tech but I assume the C1 is superior in almost every way.
Is it true that the QNED99 doesn't support VRR while the QNED90 (and pretty much every other TV in this price range) does? If so, do you not see that as a drawback for gaming on the QNED99?
Was very confused by this review compared to Rtings. It almost seemed like two different TV's. I ended up with a C1, so not complaining (it is an amazing TV).
I also own a C1. My best TV that I have ever owned. I believe that it is a waste of money to buy a 8K TV right now. Almost zero content. Plus if you still watch cable TV (or older youtube videos) the picture quality will be awful.
8K Tv's need to start coming with Display Ports, rather than just HDMI 2.1, because Display Port 2 can actually support 8K with decent colour and refresh rates. Any manufacturers who are serious about wanting in on the gaming market should start adding display ports now.
HDMI have had a contract that allows them to be the only port on TVs. This has been going on for the past 15 years or so. Details have not been stated when or if this deal will end. That is the reason we don't see displayport attached to TVs
@@tomwells8093 really? Wow. Surely it won't last more than 15yrs? Or there must be a loophole, like renaming Tv's as "Universal Displays" or something lol. The latest Tv's are just as much gaming monitors as Tv's anyway.
I'm not good with English, I don't know what came out of this video. It is a pity that the 4k model does not have this latest a9 processor but a7. The 8k version has a9, unfortunately I can only afford the 75 "8K Ultra HD model, with a weak 60 hz matrix. Is it worth buying a 4k with a weaker processor, or rather wait for newer technologies?
No starfield test? No backlight motion test? No color gamut test? No smooth motion tests? Many things left out of this review that should be in all tv reviews.
How can Best Buy advertise a clearance for the LG - 65" Class 99 Series QNED Mini-LED 8K UHD Smart webOS TV (2021) when it's marked as unavailable in the nearby area? Just a few hours ago, it didn't show as 'Unavailable nearby.' The listed price is $1,199.99, which seemed like a great deal until the 'Unavailable nearby' message appeared. I know the advantages and disadvantages of each model (including the VA panel vs. IPS panel, dimming zones number and performance, 4k vs 8k (not needed nowadays), HDR formats availability (best LG Dolby Vision), gaming features, one connect hub, etc.). I,m about 4,5 m far from TV while watching it and I come from a 60 inches Samsung TV (6 years old, JU6800 model). What do you recommend me to get? Any other suggestion?Million thanks in advance and stay being so accurate and professional!! You are the best!
Really curious how this compares to Samsung's QN90A (4k), since their QN900A (8k) has pretty bad bloom & dithering in shadows with 8k content. Essentially an 8k version of the Samsung QN90A (+ multiple 2.1 ports) would be very appealing to me.

Do these new QNED TVs have anything kind of anti reflective coating like the Samsung QN95? Very very bright living Room here with windows right across the TV. Need to ditch my OLED AS that's literally a mirror 🙁

Hello my friend I been washing your videos Since 2017 were LG start making his brand noticeable, I bought a new LG E7 back then for 5k and I been noticing that it was a waste cause I see now many options TVs that is more better and COST way cheaper that the one I bought is very disappointing to me. What you recommend me buy another one or keep this one still until 8k really hit the time?? Thk you I always looked your videos.. keep good work
LG WebOS used to be the fastest and smoothest OS smart tv , with Android tv seems the sluggish one, but now Sony's google tv became smoother and faster than any OS tv on the market
Google tv did improve but it still got App crash issue and bug with supporting Dolby Atmos sound from the Disney+ app and some streaming apps. Tizen are WebOS are far better OS over Sony and any other google TV out there.
Android TV was never sluggish that LG fanboy and Samsung fanboy lie.
@@ElGrueso Nonsense LG fanboys and Samsung fanboys
@@ElGrueso No Kodi in LG Web OS or Tizen big turn off watch 4K Dolby Vision and Atmos content very easy Sony Bravia A90J OLED comapred to that overpriced crap from LG the G1.
Can we buy it now? It’s a great option?
Caleb, progressively looking better each video, nice work!
Props to Caleb for how you handled the haters. Don't pretend like they're not there, don't kowtow to them. Just address them, call them out, move on. Love it.
We need new TCL 4k 6 series - android TV review!
That one is about a month away. 5-Series is on its way!
@@Caleb_Denison 👍👍
So do you spend the extra $$$ and buy this or still stick with their OLED?
It's good to finally more see Mini-LED TV showing up. I'm still rocking an LG OLED B6 (2016) and would love to upgrade within the next few years to a nice Mini-LED. The living room is a bit too bright for an OLED most of the year. Hopefully, 2023-24 will be a good time to upgrade. By the way, how is this TV in a bright room?
Don’t wait or you’ll always gonna be waiting
It gives me anxiety looking at those tv legs so close to the edge..I keep mine at least 3" from the edge on my entertainment stand..amazing content btw.
LG Mini-LED features a bit more caption halo than the competition, but bearable with the benefits of IPS technology. Adding in their much-loved parallax effect, it's even more affordable than Sony TVs.
TV, games and PC all in one. Made for combat. Thanks.
PS Sir, you are showing great aptitude for politics.
Thanks for the video. Is the C1 a big improvement on the B1?
Thanks for the review , but what about the cable tv content quality?Regular people still watches cable tv content ? Is there pixelation ?
We want a comparison to the C1!
please note that you can turn off the TruMotion in Cinema Home mode.
Excellent job as always Caleb! I noticed that the backlight worked Excellent on very high end content and demos however it did struggle and fluctuate on lower end content. Hope all is well
How about gaming? I think oled seems too dim in dark games and movies
@@josh8k23 I've never felt oleds to be remotely dim Josh. I'm rocking an 83" C1 and it's amazing
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPYok. I went to best buy today, I saw the lg qned, qn900A, c1. Love them all
hello would you go for this (£2400 in UK) or save up a little longer for the LG 88" 8K?..(currently £8000 in UK)
Where'd you buy this from? I'm tempted to buy the 86inch version in the UK but am worried about DSE :(
Am deciding between 65” QNED 99 and 75” QNED 90… Is the 8k and upgraded processor worth the smaller screen size? Are there any other differences? Idc about the extra 2 HDMI 2.1 ports for the record
I had the same decision, I went for the 75” QNED90/91 in the end. It’s great.
Caleb as soon as available can you please do a comparison video on the Sony x95j vs LG qned90 4k both being about the same price. 65" models🙏
So QNED or OLED ?
QNED is the only way to 8K? or LG G and C series will end up into 8K?
Good job on the weightloss look 10 years younger
Im not sure what happened but did you guys tell them it was broken in the beginning or the video or the end?
u lost weight. u looked fine before. Would you choose Qned or Oled as of now? I still love my lg oled. I watch all movies with Captions so it's no go for my need.

Yes, no VRR is a concern, but how important will VRR be for console (Series X gaming) remains to be seen. Is 4k 120 frames with Dolby Vision enough?
Was very confused by this review compared to Rtings. It almost seemed like two different TV's. I ended up with a C1, so not complaining (it is an amazing TV).
I also own a C1. My best TV that I have ever owned. I believe that it is a waste of money to buy a 8K TV right now. Almost zero content. Plus if you still watch cable TV (or older youtube videos) the picture quality will be awful.
PQ is good but it seems dim a bit. There is no pop
"I watch a lot of tv at night with the volume down for... REASONS" 😂
Better solution...bluetooth headphones or earphones makes things easier for all in the house...at night :)
Does 4k still look good on this even though it's an 8k TV, like is there any degradation cause it's not the native resolution?
Been waiting for this one. Thanks Caleb.
the qned91 has 900 dimming zones this has 2000 a no brainer to get this panel for superior black levels?..
I'm not good with English, I don't know what came out of this video. It is a pity that the 4k model does not have this latest a9 processor but a7. The 8k version has a9, unfortunately I can only afford the 75 "8K Ultra HD model, with a weak 60 hz matrix. Is it worth buying a 4k with a weaker processor, or rather
wait for newer technologies?
No starfield test? No backlight motion test? No color gamut test? No smooth motion tests? Many things left out of this review that should be in all tv reviews.
Resolution aside:
This or the HiSense U8G for gaming & movies?
How can Best Buy advertise a clearance for the LG - 65" Class 99 Series QNED Mini-LED 8K UHD Smart webOS TV (2021) when it's marked as unavailable in the nearby area? Just a few hours ago, it didn't show as 'Unavailable nearby.' The listed price is $1,199.99, which seemed like a great deal until the 'Unavailable nearby' message appeared. Moreover, I'm uncertain how a standard Blu-ray would perform on an 8k TV, considering I currently own a 1080p LG TV.
I’m wondering how this tv compares to Hisense mini LED or Sonys Bravia x90L
I don't watch caleb because he is the best TV reviewer on TH-cam but because he has the best personality compared to other reviewers.
65inch LG QNED99 8k is now 2000$ is that a good deal?
Interesting thing about the subtitles, as it may be a HUGE deal breaker for someone who watches a lot of anime such as myself.
Or any person in a country which doesn’t have English as its native language
Hi Caleb, greetings from Spain! Need to ask about piece of advice (wisdom instead, hehehe)… For the price (around 3800 €), I have the chance to get a 85 inches Samsung QN95 (flagship 4k) or 86 inches QNED99 from LG (flagship 8k).
Does Local Dimming works when in VRR gaming ?
Will this work for the 4090 ? Thats what i'm going for. 4K 120 for most games but 8k 60hz for some that let me get a solid 60fps.
Is this a good choice for a bright room ?
Yes
When cleaning just the dust with a microfiber cloth is really necessary unplug the power cable or just turn off the tv/monitor? Thanks
Really curious how this compares to Samsung's QN90A (4k), since their QN900A (8k) has pretty bad bloom & dithering in shadows with 8k content. Essentially an 8k version of the Samsung QN90A (+ multiple 2.1 ports) would be very appealing to me.
Why is this TV so dam cheap !! It's around 3k now in 86 inches it's Very tempting!!! I was looking at the X95k but 85inch is 5 grand !! I was looking at perhaps the Z9J but given this is a mini led , would this be the better option??
Great show👍👍, what is the best way to clean the screen of the NanoCell 2020, keep up the great work, many thanks.
I‘m waited so long for this Video… :)
What are the diet and exercise of this TH-camr? He is looking just as good as his 8K TVs and I would love to find out how! Great review by the way!
What is the name (link?) for that entertainment console?
I have a LG OLED tv and love it… until I got burn in. I loved the rich blacks but I’m worried about burn in again. Should I try OLED again or maybe the mini led is the way to go next time?
What are you watching that gave you burn in? Genuinely curious. And was it a newer model OLED? C9, CX, or C1?
@@destruct1214 it’s an LG OLED, about 3 years old. The burn in is the top row from our Apple TV Home Screen. You can see it during most lighter scenes.
What U Think Of LG QNED 90
I have been on a strike looking your TV reviews because I'm considering pull the trigger on a 50" Tv. For the time being I got a TCL 4 Series 43S423 for $50 because it was stuck on the splash screen when powering on and found a motherboard, with the screen timer and the psu for $20. IMO it looks incredible, I can't imagine how those more sophisticated and expensive Tv's at or closer to 1,000 nits should look like 😬🙌🏻
This is the QNED99 and you showed a video from your A1 unboxing? Huh?
*important question is if samsungs qantom dot film is cadmium free? why samsung not Tell us about the health concerns with the quantom dot tecnique*
One Issue makes me contemplating about getting this TV, Where are G-SYNC Compatible, FreeSync* and VRR?
Is the blooming really bad on this TV?
Is the loss of vrr on this model a major factor for gaming? The 4K model has it but not the 8K model.
Hey brother. I'm new to this tv technology. I was gonna get a lg c1 77 inch tv for 2600 then I saw this 75 8k nanocell tv for sale for 1800. How big of a difference are the tvs. I mainly use my tvs for movies.
Nice LCD tv. Looks like a winner.
Do these new QNED TVs have anything kind of anti reflective coating like the Samsung QN95? Very very bright living Room here with windows right across the TV. Need to ditch my OLED AS that's literally a mirror 🙁
Which lg tv is better the oled or Qned ?
awesome video caleb
Color is amazing!
I’M TOTALLY GETTING THIS TV! THANKS!
Stuff those haters. You're the best man
I like your vibe, Caleb.
I have a QNED90 coming tomorrow and expect it to perform similarly to the QNED99. They have the same number of dimming zones but it has the step down A7 processor. That it may not be as bright may be a good thing for blooming.
Are you certain it has the same number of dimming zones?
Has less dimming zones on the 4K models. Just over 916 in 65”, about 1350 in 75” and 1500 in 86”
Guys is it good for PC ?
Especially with AMD Radeon 6900xt
i have a ‘17 Sony xr900e that’s still amazing till this day. i like the lg c1 to upgrade but since i have a xsx console should i wait a few more years to see how better the tv market will get then?
Caleb does the TV have vrr?
