Suspenders inspire. You can definitely use them to change a look. I wear them a lot, and even wear them over sweaters in the winter. You definitely can tuck in lots of sweaters if you've got the build and/or the right pants. It's a rustic/dapper look.

Interesting about tucking in the sweater, I feel like it would have to be like a very thin sweater because a heavy one would just billow out of the suspenders. Obviously, for you it's all about "look". Well, if that's you obsession, there are worse ones. But the problem with your presentation is that you don't recognize the major advantage of suspenders: the fact that with them your pants accompany your movements. Sit down with suspenders on and then sit down with a belt on and you'll immediately feel the difference. One more thing: you only mention 2 options - buttons and clips. Clips are generally a bad choice, since they easily loosen and become unattached. There are suspenders that attach with a swivel clip to the belt loops of pants. They're excellent.
i usually sew my own suspender buttons, make sure they are spaced between 3 and 2,5 inches , and that the first button on the front is around the same line with the crease/pleat, also just a few tips i found useful : don't wear super slim suspenders, don't wear suspenders with low rise trousers. don't wear clip ons if you want proper suspenders and no fabric damage, cheerio old boy!

You forgot the most important pro - The comfort of not having a tight piece of leather wrapped around your waist. I wear my pants one size bigger than i need and with suspenders I can be comfortable and at lunch I can go out with the guys and eat a full meal and not come back to the office and be uncomfortable sitting down. Plus belts are hard to find one that has the holes exactly where you need them but suspenders are easy to adjust to the perfect fit.

I do hardwood floor installation and refinishing. Up and down on my knees all day. I have a heavier duty clamp style, and I do wear them with a belt because I have tool sheaths on the belt. I got so comfortable with them that I just always wear suspenders..
I do agree about the owning it statement as I've said before somebody could have a eyeball in the middle of their forehead but with the right personality and the right Charisma it becomes a plus

It's pretty easy to learn how to sew a button onto your own pants, and since suspender buttons are hidden on the inside even if it's not perfect looking no one can tell. Also if you wear suspenders with jeans or other sturdy pants you can buy "bachelor buttons" which you rivet in place with a hard surface (like a jeweler's anvil) and a hammer. In a pinch I've even replaced a missing button with a Chicago screw and a flat washer, but that will fall off in the wash so take it out when they go into the laundry.

FYI, you CAN bear a belt with suspenders on more casual clothing, primarily because a belts primary function is to keep the trousers SNUG, as in to keep it from moving in the first place side to side and for work places where you have things that hang off of belts or trousers. Suspenders, for a pretty large amount of folk function as a way to keep the trousers from falling and sagging. For the particularly fat and those too skinny, you have a hard time fitting pants, and for the skinner folk even with pants and suspenders you have lots of empty space, which needs to be held snug with a belt regardless. You don't need a bulky belt, you can have a stretchy belt, a clean and thin belt, what not. There is a time and place of course, but custom fit trousers and properly finding the right trousers for both skinny and obese is incredibly hard without forking out a veritable fortune. Something that a belt and suspender does not require.
Great video. Question, I dont see anybody posting videos about where the patch should be on your back. I wear Y backs but I feel the patch rides too high. I like the adjusters to be mid chest on the front but again it makes me think its causing the patch to ride too high. It lands between 2 to 3 inches below my back collar. Am I over thinking it?

for me suspenders and belts have different purposes. suspenders to hold up pants and a belt to hang things like holsters. I can't go with just a belt as with my belly a belt is either cutting me in half or my pants are falling down.
clip on suspenders suck anyway because they chew up your pants and have a habit of coming unclipped at the worst time. Hammer on buttons suck too because the pin will eventually work a hole through your pants and fail.
Ok i could see a tactical belt with a tactical looking suspenders. Hold your tools and whatever you want. Also i think we can step up the suspender game with an outside button. Put a nice adjustable back and front and a button end on it. Make sure you have enough buttons for all your pants

You can wear suspenders with a belt if you carry a multitool and conceal carry. Cell phone it's a great support system just like a soldiers lbe equipment I use to wear. Yes if you are extremely dressed up perhaps it may not look proper but in today's lifestyle men have much more items they may need to carry so we need to reconsider not style but overall support comfort and necessity. Also you can wear the belt much looser
Belt + Suspenders is an absolutely awesome combo, anyone who tells you it's a fashion fopaux can suck on rocks lol. I only wish I knew how much of a difference suspenders with a belt can make, especially if you work trades for a living. There is literally no other way to wear a tool belt then with BOTH Suspenders and belt together.

Well I’ve never had or have pants suspender buttons on the inside of my pant dress and jeans they’ve always been on the outside my man. Oh and if you’ve ever been to a work wear store the sell suspender buttons that are riveted so you can add them yourself. Also logger pants usually come with them and they are on the outside get you head of of the designer world theres a hold world of hard working men and women that wear more functional suspenders. That are very durable and look amazing too!! Open you mind hipster.

ALWAYS wear an old/tatty 1 1/2" belt and Clip-on suspenders/braces with your jeans.

Oh and if you’ve ever been to a work wear store the sell suspender buttons that are riveted so you can add them yourself. Also logger pants usually come with them and they are on the outside get you head of of the designer world theres a hold world of hard working men and women that wear more functional suspenders. That are very durable and look amazing too!! Open you mind hipster.
