Sorensen has a big opportunity but isn't exactly being set up for success. He's good at developing players, but the big challenge he faces is getting more out of his veterans and figuring out how to get more offense out of that slew of past their prime role players.
Idiots here thinking Davidson hasn't done well with this rebuild in terms of prospects. His trades have been excellent mostly. With that said, I do think hawks should have got demidov at #2 last draft and with eiserman falling down, they should have picked him over Boisvert. Hawks need dynamic players and snipers. This would have helped. Grit also needed but hawks have some of those guys already playing but Dach/slaggert/Savoie could add that element later too. Really hope levshunov and Boisvert work out but lev looking mediocre at best so far. Also look at yzerman. He take over as Detroit GM in 2019. Has never made playoffs yet 5 years later. It's a fricking process when you tear it all down. It's sucks to watch but hopefully once hawks get good we have another sweet 10 year run
He hasn't made a real hockey trade that wasn't a salary dump or for draft picks. He needs goal scorers and has a shot at Laine. Montreal gives up squat and lands him. Askarov wants out and ends up in San Jose. Nashville got a minimal return for him. If you think all these draft choices are the answer then you are delusional.

It doesn't make sense given the peak plan horizon. Have to have enough to pay these young guys when they turn into men. Have to think long term with rebuild. Hawks still going to suck for few more years. Even when young guys get to NHL they need to get experience and get general man strength so we as hawks fans are going to be waiting awhile, like years. Now if dudes they drafted and traded for end up mostly being bums then it's a problem. To me he's maximized assets very well with this crappy hand from blowman. Concerns on prospects for me are levshunov (although it's so early) Moore (goal output) Hayes( low ahl points so far). Excited about Lardis , vanaker, thompson, Greene, Dach, James. Moore too but just not sure why he not scoring much. Boisvert kind of excited about but still think eiserman a better selection there. His stats in NCAA looking great too.
