Oftentimes Rodtand marches forward and overwhelms his opponents because he’s so durable and strong that if they happen to land a blow it doesn’t do much damage… as opposed to when he attacks, each blow is felt. So it was masterful of Superlek to disrupt that forward motion of Rodtang by grabbing his hands and pushing him back💯 Good job on the breakdown bro💯
It’s wild how MT is so effective that they can go into a kickboxing ring with tons of their weapons lost (elbows, clinch, catching kicks) and still be very competitive with kicks and boxing. Lots of MT guys are also stepping up their hands which have arguably been behind still though the non MT kickboxers we’re getting smoked back in the day by Thais bc of MT kicking techniques. Also DJ is right about crossing distance being super hard in kickboxing and boxing bc even though there’s no wrestling you still have way more active hand fighting and kick catching.
The "void" is about distance management. In summary it's about knowing your enemies strength and weaknesses and where best to position yourself for attack and defense.
Such a great fight and great analysis from one of the GOATs!! It would be awesome to see a rematch that is FIVE ROUNDS and for the ONE Muay Thai title!
It’s kind of dumb but in ONE MT - knockdowns are the first criteria in a draw. So in a 3 round fight, If your opponent scores a knockdown in the round they won, you HAVE to get a knockdown yourself in one of the 2 rounds you won to get the decision.
He just doesn’t bother to put the effort to read a 6 letter length name to pronounce an it correctly. Incredible martial art knowledge and egregious name pronunciation Mighty Mouse is.

So while that elbow in Rd 1 from Rodtang DID cause a lot of damage, Superlek was unaffected by it he fought as usual whilst landing MULTIPLE elbows and leg kicks whereas Rodtang didn’t manage to land much else. If you think Rodtang won this fight then you just don’t know how Muay Thai scoring works. It was a good fight but a pretty clear win for Superlek. Rodtang fought well, but not enough to get the W
Rodtang had: More damage ✔️ More forward momentum ✔️ More significant strikes ✔️ More aggression ✔️ But yeah, Mighty Mouse doesnt know anything about muay thai etc
@@LegendaryArchiver did you even watch the fight?? How did Rodtang land more significant strikes?? Like legit go round by round and count. Forward momentum doesn’t score in fucking Muay Thai, control does. So whether you’re moving forwards or backwards it’s about being in control of the fight which Superlek clearly was, he stifled Rodtang’s offence. And damage? Fucking damage? That shit only matters if it has an affect on the fighter, so yeah whilst it was a nasty cut which bled a lot Superlek didn’t let it affect him. Superlek pushed the pace, was in control of the fight, landed way more SCORING shots. Bro Mighty Mouse is an MMA fighter, he likes Muay Thai but he hasn’t competed in it. He doesn’t know the intricacies and scoring criteria well. If you try to score it like an MMA fight you’ll be going off course.

@@LegendaryArchiver so yeah Rodtang did more superficial damage (which only really counts if it has an affect on people) but Superlek scored a fkn knockdown. Rodtang had more forward momentum but constantly looked like he was either chasing Superlek or unable to get off meaningful offence so that’s not in his favour. He for sure didn’t land more significant strikes, and while he may have shown more aggression that shit doesn’t score for him.
@@Ilikemuaythai240 Superlek looked like a homicide victim and he was running & grabing for his dear life. The knd was bs too, Rodtang was completely immune to the attacks.
I see why you think Rodtang won but you completely ignored the knockdown in the 2nd round. That's an automatic 10-8 round for Superlek and in ONE. Whenever it's 28-28, the knockdown is the tiebreaker, thus Superlek should have won regardless.
Demetrious... You're one of the best ever MMA fighters EVER, the way you blend the arts together is better than most to of ever done it, however I couldn't disagree with your opinion rotang won this fight any more. I think there's a lot of nuances to muay Thai scoring that most people aren't aware of and is difficult to access information unless you're a muay Thai fighter within your scene, I understand this is one championship but traditionally in muay Thai scoring punches do not score as highly as kicks, knees and balance, I'll admit watching your breakdown has made me see a compelling argument for rotang, however please rewatch keeping traditional scoring in mind, count how many times superlek is able to kick/knee rotang unanswered (and I don't mean by punches), I understand this isn't traditional however it's still muay Thai and I think the result reflects this

I think superlek was rewarded for his strategy. They may have considered roadtangs fall as a knockdown so it's even damage to the judges. Progress wise throughout the fight I'd say superlek made his strategy look dominant.
I think ur massively underrating how much the knees did in the 2nd round and how Muay Thai is scored, those knees landed flush everytime and rodtang had no answer so he lost dominance, being a fighter that’s stuffing aggression is displaying domanince, the aggressive fighter only scores if he lands and slows down the fleeing fighter, being the one pushing on the gas usually means you’re chasing points, I think superlek won that fight by a good margin
I thought this was a masterclass in how to take a championship. Superlek used his stretegy so well. I think Rodtang wasnt ready for Superleks strategy and by the time he did it was too late. Rodtang was the superior striker but Superlek was the superior tactician in that fight. If they run it back and Rodtang comes better prepared i think he can take back the belt.

What does Mighty use to annotate/write on the videos he's reacting to?
It’s called epic pen
You gotta react to dfc at some point. They have some good stuff
ROD TANG 👑
Imagine DJ and Khabib training together... I want to just watch a full series and every episode is an hour long of just pure knowledge and GOAT talk between them. Not only would it break the view count, but it would piss off Dana and help so many fighters. That's what the people want to see DJ! Khabib would never say "no" to you bro, just reach out. Would be a fucking awesome watch and I want to see how Khabib would react when you put him in very difficult positions. Please make this happen fam, would bring a smile to the whole MMA world to see two GOATs with extreme confidence learning from each other.
If they were in the same weight class though who do you think would win?
@@itsmesteve1081 If I had to bet money on it, I would pick Khabib based on his pure dominance. I think Khabib could become welterweight champ right now if he wanted to. Now if you asked me if Jones and Khabib were the same weight, I would pick Jones because that's just a pure violent GOAT. Regardless all three are the best of the best and GSP is right under them. Everyone else is 2-3 levels below. Just my opinion.
That wouldn’t be free
@@MultiTreeboy How do you know?
@@RealHoopSeason DJ is P4P the best of the 3 the only guy JJ fought with similar analytics and fight IQ as DJ was DC. But he a fat midget compared to JJ. So if you have JJ over Khabib but khabib over DJ, then you just biased as a fan. And you forgot A.Silva who is arguably the goat too. Only reason JJ is so high regarded is bc he’s LHW/HW
Rodtang is terrifying every time I watch him. His friggin KICKS just look excruciating.
The constant hand grabbing reminds me of how stipe dealt with daniel cormier. Cormier kept reaching out like that and stipe pounded his liver for it
Superlek has a massive size advantage here.
Can you breakdown Buakaw vs Saenchai
these two are from a different planet
Who won?
Watching it both live and after, I thought superlek narrowly won, thought Rodtang started to slow down, and that the knockdown played a big factor in the decision
MM back with the breakdown...... already know its gonna be a banger .......i had it as a draw tbh but the knockdown gave superlek the adv to the judges

Thank you sir 😊🙏🏾
I love Rodtang so much. Hes just such a showman and ALL of his fights r entertaining. Thats for the tips to counter hand grabbing. Im a short fighter and if someone did that to me I would b trying to throw their arms into outer space😂
