Something about hauling firewood, pulling trees, and splitting wood with an older machine is more fun than with a newer one, i don't know i guess it must be the smell of the exhaust while your in the woods and hearing the gas engine underload makes the experience a whole lot more enjoyable! And i'm so excited to start using our homemade log splitter with my Allis tractor this year! It does a dandy job at pulling trees, i'm also gonna start pulling a trailer with it to!
cheers from Prince Edward Island .. Canada .. very nice little tractor .. we have a farmall A and 100 .. love them little tractors so much .. great for the garden or in the woods
Hey Robbie! Thank you for watching and commenting, I’m excited to get a lot of use from the cub this spring in the garden! It sure is a good tractor! Thanks again, take care!
Well. I enjoyed working along with you from my Office Chair. We got quiet a bit done. And oh yeah the tea was great. Bet this confused some folks. LOl. Gotta love the cub.
My Dad has a 1951 cub that my granddad bought new for the farm. Had the original sickle bar, blade, wagon, plow disc and hare till a few years ago. Dad farmed the ten acres there thru high school. It has been overhauled once but is in fantastic condition, stored inside it's whole life.
Nice video, those farmalls run great.I"m 60 years old, when I was 18,I worked for a farmer who had a farmall h,sat outside in the weather alway"s.This guy didn"t maintain anything.Crank start only, half a turn and that thing was runnin. It"s amazing what those old tractors could do.Very little horsepower.Today"s garden tractors advertise more horsepower than a full size tractor back then.Course I don"t believe that crap.
Hey Mark, thanks for watching! this little tractor sure has been a fun project and now it runs great. its definitely a simple machine that will work hard! I enjoy it being hand crank, starts very easy as you were saying! your right the Hp comparison seems crazy haha. Thanks again, take care!
Thanks Allen! It was off to a rough start to get running but it sure runs great now. With only the hand crank the initial start for who know how long was a treat haha. I appreciate ya watching. Take care :)
Haha thank you! Yes I have a blast splitting wood and working the Cub. it makes me think of all the hours and different people who have ran it over the years! I appreciate the comment, hope you all enjoy your weekend!
Our Farm has two 49 cub tractors. They have been hauling wood since they arrived here. We have tried other tractors and also 4 wheelers which suck terribly at this by the way. The Cub because of its size and ground clearance fit the bill perfectly. I think the farmall A and 100 would be fine as well. Anything bigger and it becomes cumbersome. \Check your bearings in the final drives. Excessive wear causes the gear noise you hear. They are fairly simple to change.
Hello Dave, hope you get the tube changed okay. Lots of good firewood you got there. Keep up the good work and videos and save your energy when you can, it runs out on you before you know it. Say hey to the little ones.
Thanks Fred, there is always something to work on or fix haha. Haha yeah I can start to feel the aches and pains from these projects! I appreciate ya watching, take care friends!
Wow! What a view! You are on the hilltop. It’s nice having more than one tractor. You don’t have to keep changing things up . Great video, thanks for sharing
Thanks David! It makes for a nice view but lots of challenges come with it haha! It is handy to have the cub to, I’m hoping to get more implements for it soon. Thanks for watching buddy, take care!
I love the sound of those straight cut gears! The cub is a perfect chore tractor, and will always work hard for ya. I often think about getting an H or M for spreading manure or running a tedder or rake. Thanks for taking us along! You have a gem there
Thanks Chris! It sure is a treat to operate, I have had a lot of fun with it so far! I had recently put chains on it so I’m excited to see what kind of work I can do now in the mud and snow. The M or H would be a great addition to the farm buddy, I enjoy the quality of the old tractors! I appreciate ya watching, take care!
Great video of the Farmall at my work we have a Farmall very close to yours it's got white trim otherwise it looks the same. Ours has a plow and spreads out rock salt in the winter. Thanks for sharing.
That’s nice, I bet it comes in handy! I’d like to get a plow for mine, with a set of chains it would be a snow pushing machine haha. I appreciate ya watching!
Thanks! Glad ya enjoyed it, thats got to be a good feeling! I know I sure enjoy my cub, I would like to end up with a few more haha. My wife would be thrilled 😁 take care!
If you're ever in the market for a small trailer, check DR trailers. I have the half ton and its great. You could use the 1 ton. Great job on tractor and everything
Thanks Kevin! Haha he sure is, eats like a horse and is full of energy :) the trailer is perfect for the cub, I would like a trailer a bit larger for the LS but I enjoy working the cub haha. Thanks for watching buddy, take care!
Your welcome, I appreciate ya watching! The trailer is a Poly Cart from Tractor Supply. I believe it is made by Ohio Steel! It has been a very nice trailer :) take care!
Very cool Farmall Cub! Love the non-electrics! We have a farm in NE Washington State, and have a very similar fleet to yours! I have a 1954 Farmall Cub and a 2013 New Holland Workmaster 40HP (actually made by LS). We love our Cub, and it does just as much, if not more, then our NH. Such a versatile tractor! The biggest thing we use the NH for is because it has a front end loader. I just demonstrated you can run a milking machine off a Cub! If you haven’t discovered it yet, I highly recommended the forum at farmallcub.com. There is a ton of knowledge there and the folks on the forum have got me out of a jam more than once. Subscribed!
Thank you! I appreciate ya checking out the channel :) glad to have ya! Yes I can tell I am going to get a lot of use from mine as well, it’s just such a treat to use, I feel that I go back in time each time I crank it over! Thanks again, take care!
Snakes! That’s all I can think of when you are destacking the Wood. As we don’t have them in the UK 🇬🇧 I keep thinking every time you walk in the woods snakes are jumping out at you everywhere😄. But seriously do you have any issues with them, especially with the GSD’s? Have 2 myself and they are in to anything that moves.
Haha thanks for watching David. We have a good bit of snakes around here but I haven’t seen any that would be dangerous. I feel they help with the bugs and mice so I usually don’t mess with them! I appreciate ya watching, take care!!
Dave, the Farmall is a smooth running machine looks good too. Them International engines are pretty slick. Have you used the PTO since you've added it? Enjoyed the show buddy.
Thanks Dean, it sure runs good! Seems like pretty impressive power for just 10Hp haha. I haven’t used any implements with the PTO, I’d like to get a cord saw to run with it but haven’t found any yet. I appreciate ya watching buddy, take care!
Hey Joey, thanks for watching buddy. It is a blast haha I have never actually stacked it all at one time but I figure I probably burn 5-7 cords. Have a good week, take care!
Haha, no problem ;) it sure is fun to work, I pretty much enjoy everything about it other than only having one strong break 😂 I’ll get to that some time! Thanks for watching, have a good weekend!

One less step is always good.
Keep up with the awesome videos

Hey Joey, thanks for watching buddy. It is a blast haha I have never actually stacked it all at one time but I figure I probably burn 5-7 cords. Have a good week, take care!
How many times did that wood heat you?
Haha that’s the best part of doing firewood is it heats you up about 3 or more times :) thanks for watching. Have a Happy New Year!
Tell me where you live so I can come borrow the Cub 🚜🤣😏👍🤠
Haha, no problem ;) it sure is fun to work, I pretty much enjoy everything about it other than only having one strong break 😂 I’ll get to that some time! Thanks for watching, have a good weekend!
Didn't need a Farmall Cub for that little bits of wood. Could have used lawn tractor.
Your right Wendell! I could of used the lawn tractor, four wheeler, or rhino :) I just have fun with the cub! Thanks for watching, take care!
