    Mark is a top bloke that knows his stuff. Watch his own vids on TH-cam and you will see why he is a true legend.

    Great to see Mark joining the Shooting Show. I was amused by the big smile on his face after getting 2 foxes. You could see the relief that he did well all over his face. Well done, hope to see a lot more of Mark on the Shooting Show, maybe they will send him down here to Australia where his long range skills would really shine.

    These shows are getting very short!

    I'm not doubting ability but an honest question, you show your zero (group) at 300 yards high right from centre on what I am assuming is an 6-8" metal target the group is outside of a 4" kill zone and you were happy did you re zero back to centre? All the best and carry on the good work

    • @260rips
      @260rips 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi mark the group shot was using a ballistic app to give a suggested correction for a 300 yard target from its zeroed range of 100 yards. The steel disc was 6" and the group fell around 1.5-2" high of centre and the slight right shift was simply a little more wind drift than accounted for so I was happy to shoot to 300 yards with this set up once we had adjusted the settings on the app ;-) thanks for watching, mark

    I really enjoy the way way Mark goes about his craft. He has the right gear, knows how to use it and never stands out, makes a noise and everything is measured and patient. This is stalking and shooting at its best.

    I watch every week, I hit LIKE every week, I did so this week. But no hearing protection and no eye protection is a problem for me. It's the way I was taught. Whether or not your correspondents use them off-camera, you should remember that a wide range of ages and experience watch this show. I think you should go the extra mile to set a good example.

      There's a moderator on the gun

    • @MrMayhemVI
      @MrMayhemVI 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +M4Strider I'm not in a position to know too much about moderators, so I won't act like I do. But pitch and frequency can affect hearing even when decibels do not. Either way, I stand by my comment about setting an example for others. There's too many instances of no hearing protection and even more of no eye protection. For a show aimed at promoting the shooting sports, these are not only relevant areas, but it's not like the companies that manufacture them wouldn't like the exposure.

      The moderator we were using was a MAE scout t12 which conform to the noise at work regulations so in other words are classed as not being harmful to your hearing, as far as wearing protective glasses, right or wrong, its not something that ever seems to be deemed necessary here in the uk except sometimes for better target acquisition in clay shooting or pistol shooting abroad. Thanks for watching

    Got to worry about all this meddling with licence reforms are they making it harder to get one. What about a longer licence span maybe about 10 years instead of 5.

    Just ordered the X5i 25x 1/4". Great demo! Mine is going on a custom Nosler M48 chambered in 28 Nosler. I own several Z6i scopes. The clarity is always top notch. I'll have to compare it to my M8 Leupold at 1000 yards. Of course the M8 is a true tactical scope. HEAVY and 34mm vs X5i at 30mm.

    Good shooting,I enjoy watching all your videos but please tell me why don't you ever wear hearing protection I'm in my 50s and my hearing is terrible from all the shooting I have done I think I have lost around 30-40% from shooting.

    • @260rips

      The moderators I'm using are MAE moderators which conform to the noise at work regulations so are below the level that is considered to damage your hearing ;-) thanks for watching

      Cheers mate, the 243 and scope is a rifle on test for the shooting show on loan from the sponsers so the 260 is having a little r&r lol
      The x-bolt and x5i seem to be good bits of kit 😉

      What was your group at 300 yards with it.

    • @260rips
      @260rips 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I got about an inch and a half group with it with factory ammo but to be honest I wasn't trying to get a tight group with it I just wanted to make sure I hit the target while I was being filmed!
