NewAge needs to hop on retools of their new Bee & Cliff mold: two Bees and a Cliff. Based on Alvin and the Chipmunks. The Cliffjumper retool can be Angry Acorn (Alvin), and the Bumblebee retools can be Smart Acorn (Simon) and Tubby Acorn (Theodore).
Hell, they did retooled repaints of their Brawn mold as the Ninja Turtles, so why not?

Actually, Cliffjumper was in Transformers: War for Cybertron. He was in the DS games which had several characters that weren't in the the console games until Fall of Cybertron. Some characters like Motormaster, Cyclonus, Ultra Magnus, and Hot Shot never appeared in any other game in the series.
Bumblejumper being the Missingno of Transformers really explains why I love him so much.
Also, I got one for $2 at a thrift store...

19:30 Yes, since Legends is no longer a class (for now), they are really working towards proper scale, which allows for this figure to be undersized and Hoist to be oversized in the same price point, because the cost is spread around the same wave. I personally LOVE that they are doing this.
And its not like he isnt worthy of beung among the others. Hes heavy for his size. Compared to Prowl and Ironhide he feels about as heavy because the plastic is pretty hollow on the others while he is a solid little dude

He's only died 4 times that I can think of in 35 years. Two of those times were when lots of characters got killed and one of them was in a continuity where death means basically nothing.
As someone that grew up on G1 and slept on transformers until more recently when my kid discovered them ( thus bringing me back into it ) I really appreciate the brief history lesson and a look at all the cool stuff I missed ( and some stuff I now want, that cherry paint job on the Cybertron *chef's kiss* ).

I bought Earthrise Cliffjumper about two weeks ago. The first transformer toy I have bought for myself in probably 30 years. Do not regret it one bit.
None of them split in half down the middle like Animated Safeguard. 7/10.

Robomerc Prime Cliffjumper is also part of a very small minority of characters played by the Rock that dies
The first time he died was at the END of the Underbase saga of the comics. He didn't die in the original cartoon at all. He didn't die in the Cybertron games. Prime is a sequel to those games, technically. He didn't die again until the END of IDW's original continuity. He only died once at the beginning of a continuity, in Bumblebee.

As for the "what is going on with Earthrise deluxe-class?" question, I think its a matter of spreading development and production costs across the assortment, much like studio series has done. That's why Hoist is almost Voyager-scale, Cliffy is almost Legends-scale, and the rest fall somewhere in-between.
Hasbro has always kinda done that, but used to limit the "some more, some less" bit to paint and small accessories. Now they're doing it with plastic, too, which isn't a bad thing. They're also reusing minor parts in creative ways that blue the line on "retool" - do Titans Return Scourge and Windblade count, since they share the same extending spine and thighs?
For some reason I really like the Energon Cliffjumper.

You know it's the real comedy that Thew puts into his reviews and videos are packed with fun and energy. He doesn't review in a wooden mechanical style. That's why we all keep coming back for more. Only gripe I have is I want more monthly Megatron.

Got Earthrise Cliffjumper for my birthday. The partsforming had me hesitant at first, but in hand I'm happy to have it. Great video on a character who is more than just red Bumblebee, despite what Hasbro was pushing for the longest time.

Fly Over Mountain is the Cliffjumper I use for my Autobot display, and I love him.
Great review as always. I picked up Key Ring Cliffjumper way back in late 2002 the very day I got into collecting as an adult.
I bought him along with Brawn, Windcharger, Prowl and Sixshot and haven't looked back since.
The gen1 Cliffjumper was my first Transformer as a kid and what got me into it. He was my favorite character on the show and I loved the super-deformed style.
I’ve never been into collecting Transformers but you may have sold me. I had a Cliffjumper toy as a kid as well as a few others but that’s about it.
I am proud that yellow cliffjumper was my first ever transformer bought by my grandma in hamleys.

First time I've heard that the original Microchange figures were actually based upon actual toy cars and not actual vehicles. Really does explain a lot about how the minibots looked in G1 in general.

I'm a massive car nerd so here's a bit of fun I noticed:
G1 Cliffjumper is a Porsche 924 Turbo. Then Prime rebooted him into what looks like a modified Dodge Challenger.
Earthrise Cliffjumper is very clearly modeled after a Mitsubishi Starion, which was a Japanese competitor to the 924 (and later 944), but was also sold in the US as the Chrysler, Plymouth or Dodge Conquest, effectively combining the G1 and Prime roots.

Earthrise Cliffjumper really is a treat. For the price point I was iffy on the size, but it really doesn't matter. The plastic quality is awesome, the weapons are sick, good transformation and articulation. Literally the only negative is the shield backpack, but it's not a big one for me. It's better than Siege Optimus in plastic quality, which dissapoints me because I love that toy as well.
Also, thanks for pointing out that the G1 Cliffjumper that I had as a boy (likely the key chain re-release or knock off, given I got it at a garage sale for a quarter) was in fact the red Bumblebee. I wish I could find that thing, I'm sure I have it somewhere.

I've only got one Iron Factory item, and that's the Turrets and Manacle set, released long before Hasbro ever thought to do the City-Bot add-on dudes. Can't vouch for the rest of Iron Factory's products, but Turrets and Manacle are amazingly good.
G1 Cliffjumper was probably the first Transformer I ever owned! I can't be sure, as that was a long time ago, but I definitely remember having that stubby little musclecar...

Classics Cliffjumper was one of my first Transformers, I still have it somewhere. This guy pretty much jumpstarted my interest in the franchise and I've had a particular love for the character ever since....and I've never gotten another version of him. I'm considering Earthrise, but I think my subconscious is preventing me from replacing the Classics one as my only Cliff.
