    I remember when I started watching this channel was trying to run sub 30. Then year ago I was wanting to run sub 25. This summer I ran a 24:54 and last Sat manage to PB @ 23:16 5K. This channel has really been helpful in my faster running and success. Feb I will be doing my first half marathon and look forward to the tips and all the informative tips. Thank you so much

    The warm up is super key! As a beginner I did some static stretches and I found the first mile was a struggle. After watching a previous video of TRE about proper warming up, I now find that first mile so much easier!

    Thanks I’m going to run a 5K this week. I’ve been calling it a 5K dash because I intend to do it well and faster than I have ever known to do it. Your preparation and training tips are top. Thanks to you guys I know that the key is in a good dynamic warm up which will seriously prepare me for the run/rush to come.

    Absolutely brilliant tips! That burn in the last third is real 😱👍

    I like the way he breaks it down because it gets to be a mental thing. I also think mile repeats work really well with a minute to minute and a half break in between. I try and keep each repeat as close together as the previous. Usually within 5 to 7 seconds. They work and the 3rd set your legs are burning.

    Thanks for the information! I just downloaded the app and am checking it out right now. I'm 45 and been lifting weights for years, but had only run periodically. Several weeks ago, I decided to start running on a regular basis as part of my workout routine. My first (attempted) 5K time was 29:24. Then 27:29. Then 25:46. Not great by any means, but at least moving in the right direction. Looking forward to checking out your app, exercises, etc.

    Hi Hate. I loved this. I am just starting this year so only doing 5K races this year. Sorry but I did not understand the 7-8 effort section at all. I have watched over a few times and just don't understand what to do. I did find the plan for the 3 stages of the race very helpful. I am getting stronger now so can actually apply a plan rather than just get through it. Thanks again.

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So 7-8/10 effort means you're giving it about 70-80% of your max all out effort. You're breaking the 5K into 3 sections. So based on what your 5K time typically is, say it's 21 minutes for example, you'd run 3 7-minute sections at a 7-8/10 effort.

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      and if your 5K is closer to the 30 minute mark, you can take the effort level down a little bit since you'll be doing 3 10-minute sections so less likely that you can hold the 70-80% effort for that long 3 times.

      Mark Dodd you don't want to fully recover but you want to catch your breath. When in doubt, go with equal recovery and as you get in better shape you can start doing less recovery

    As always thank you so much, coach Nate! Actually, I PRed my 5K and won my age group (40s) (FYI, I am turing 49 coming July) this last April. ^^ Unfortunately, even with all core and glutes strengthening exercises, I'm having some pain on my left side of my hip (Hip Bursitis) since two days ago. So.....should I rest until the pain is gone without running, coach Nate? So frustrated.

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First off, congrats on your age group and PR!! Second, if pain has only been around 2 days, give it a little while before making a game plan. Seeing your doctor might not be a bad option as well.

    3-8 8X10 segments for the 30-minute 5K? Not sure what this means? And how to apply this to the 40-minute 5K runner? Thanks for the great tips!

    • @stephane5991
      @stephane5991 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      X Sinclair it's a little confusing even after watching a few times but I think he's saying start with 3x 5 minutes runs at a moderate to high effort (your pace is currently 13:20/mile so a bit faster than that). Then working towards being able to run the 5km (~3miles) in 3 sections with a rest in-between at your new pace.
