Agree! When this manga series ended, a high school girl commented on social media in Japan: "They've graduated from high school and gone their separate ways, and I feel unbearably lonely. I can't recover from the loss, and my spirits remain low since Haikyuu ended." Since I got to know the show midway through Season 4 during late-night TV (in Japan), I didn’t even have time to feel any sense of loss. I couldn’t just wait for the movie, so I ended up collecting the manga and all kinds of related books! As the movie revenue was so high, I hope Seasons 5 and 6 will be made after the next movie😑
My most favorite / Top 1 moment of Haikyu (even after reading all the manga) is Hinata's High Pass. Nothing comes close to it. The panning of black on the edges of the screen, everyone's being very speedy, coach ukai yelling slow it down guys... And there's the light shining through that darkness which is our hinata giving hope to our guys. Perfect direction. The animators nailed that scene. 🙏👌
You've come so far boys! I still remember how yall were so skeptical towards this anime about volleyball. I'm so happy I got to rewatch this series with you.
It's impossible to choose an mvp between kageyama and hinata, both had amazing moments that went down in haikyuu history. That final rally with both kageyama and hinata stopping their own trump card was so good, they cooked soo hard. I already know you guys are gonna love the movie, anime movie budgets with an amazing match coming up! The build up has been crazy!
Man I'm glad you enjoyed the show and ended up loving it because be sure that a lot of haikyuu fans they don't know nothing about volleyball but when they see the anime its give them another perspective about it just like Hinata discovering that there are more to volleyball then spiking it hits eventually. and about the rewatch it makes you appreciate s1 more in the long run..
I know Jack felt that there is no way Nekoma can beat Karasuno but you have to remember, Kuroo is technically Tsukki's mentor for blocking. He's the goat. Also, Kenma is like this AI setter who could learn from the data you feed him and adjust his tactics, that is some superpower shi LOL
I agree fully, the potential is massive for spinoffs series, following different teams or different players we like. Just imagine a spinoff following the little giant and how he climbed to the top, seeing all the simillarities between him and hinata. Having spinoffs of like olympic games and you see grown-ups of the characters we like playing togheter would be so fire!
I cant believe this journey is about to come to an end... You guys really made it memorable (got me into anime again) and i ´m so glad you enjoy haikyuu as much as we do!!
✨ *Unpopular Opinion: Tsukki's narration at the end point of their game against Inarazaki is one of the best lines in Haikyuu. I love that they let the blocking GOAT, gave the last words upon why Hinata and Kageyama are better at handling their own quick, be it on doing it themselves or stopping it. Tsukki is so grown to love volleyball so much that he talks a lot now huhu* 💕
I think people (me included) like Atsumu because of how he recognised and acknowledged Hinata's talent. The quotes - "I will definitely set for you in the future" and "You have got a scary partner, Tobio-kun" are goated.
I really don’t think movies will be able to do justice to the rest of the manga, which is so upsetting. The last arc of the manga made me feel nauseous. I was speechless and I almost felt empty whilst reading it. It was so beautiful and inspiring, and yet I felt sad. It’s truly the greatest arc in the whole of the series and it’s what cemented Haikyuu’s status as a masterpiece for me.
The delusion in me still thinks that the movie will only cover the (manga spoilers) kamomedai match and then we'll get a short season of the time skip.
I always thought the last point was shown through Kita's eyes as a sign of an alternate ending where if he was on the court, he would've been there to pick it up! But the last point was so HYPE!!! I'm glad you guys stuck with Haikyuu. This was so much fun to experience with you guys. If you're looking for a good sports anime, then definitely Slam Dunk, it's a great story and does super well withing the confines of it just being a "just basketball anime" lovable character and good story
✨23:33 *FUN FACT: The song played at the end of 4x25 is the very first Opening of Haikyuu, Imagination by Spyair. It's very impactful if you watch all the OPs at least once or a few times. I got chills when I heard it again because Nekoma is truly their first and only rival. They never won against them in any match. Anyways, wish you guys check the OP and ED songs just once in the beginning or at the end of each season instead of not doing so and compiling it for a year, in animes that you watch moving forward. It loses all the impact when watched after so many seasons/shows have passed specially if they are incorporated again in the latter part of the season like Haikyuu.* 💕
✨ *Hinata's such a good main character. He's a ball of sunshine with imperfections but you can't help but root for him because he's hard working and genuine. Off to the movie! Love the animation choices on The Battle at the Garbage Dump.* 💕
✨ The weird quick is not invincible, Oikawa's team proved it on Season 1, that's why Karasuno lost. Other teams were also able to get used to it and block it later in the season. So Kageyama and Hinata know that better than anyone. They blocked the twin's quick mainly because they knew better than them since they've been doing it for many times. Gek rekt moment. xD
Watchers/Readers forget that Nekoma has never lost to Karasuno in any practice matches across all of their lineup iterations. The only ones who know in the story are the teams involved since this is their first official match in history. Everyone else is out of the loop
haikyuu has the best ending at least that's what the streets say. I'm only reading the manga after they finish the adaptations but I've heard about some stuff and it sounds goated. The movie is 10/10 but I wish it was wayyyy longer (mostly bc im greedy with Haikyuu lol) And about the top 3, you guys have been the only reactors I've seen do it so easily fr I can't do it to this day and I've rewatched it about 8 times.
Remember that Suga was one of those who had the most patience with Hinata, who only cared about jumping high and finishing, that's why he was excited to see how Hinata now understands the game and how much he grew.❤❤
I'm so mad the animation studio is just making movies, they cut out so many important moments from the karasuno vs nekoma match especially kageyama's and nishinoya's
Agree. Like it's a fucking highlight, specially Nishinoya's. I could point out scenes that are unnecessary in exchange of that foot save. Though I really lov ethe POV animation. It's a very very well directed choice.
I'm gonna definitely miss your Haikyu reactions very badly after the movie... Because it is the only show (also naruto) that i always keep commenting on... 😭💔
hey guys loving your reactions!! As a haikyuu fan, i agree that i want to see more of the boys’ school years however objectively, the arc after high school is so peak that I wouldnt change it for anything. Hinata is a growing character now (some other characters too) but his development and passion def didnt stop after high school it is extremely satisfying to watch how much more he disciplines himself and reach to a level (that is if you read manga of cos we dont know how much they’ll animate) I saw this on tumblr and it’s a personal fav analysis of mine : we only read about hinata (and kageyama) first year because of how special the team was to them; the writer wanted to paint this year as a beautiful and precious memory. they def went through a lot this year, the team being in the sewage, getting belittled, but finally reconnecting with other teams which were once close, getting amazing club advisor and coach, hinata FINALLY getting an actual team, properly learning to play and kageyama getting a team that understands and supports him, finally getting over his middle school horrors and finding the “someone better” iykyk ;) slight dialogue spoiler but kageyama himself said in manga “I wanted to take THIS TEAM further” and suga cried… so yeah maybe it’s for the sentimental value Although, you might get disappointed that their years are not longer you def wont be disappointed with every character conclusions!!! Haikyuu is one of the manga with the most amazing ending and character conclusions!!! edit: if you really do want to see other life aspects of them, there are special audio dramas and ‘haikyuu bu’ manga they are pretty funny lol
So sick how Haikyuu, a sports anime about volleyball, makes you literally just as hyped as big fights like Rock Lee vs. Gaara or the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight. Sad the journey is almost at an end, but definitely happy to have relived this with you. Can't wait for the reaction to the movie I think you'll like it :D
3:46 Funny how in the other video when y'all did this I didn't get it, but that was before I watched Squid Game season 2 and your reactions to it. I get it now. 7:33 Cannon finally had to give Asahi his flowers! 10:55 I love this Hinata moment so much! His team needed a breather, so he gave it to them and it was beautiful. 11:26 "Dude, is that ball the honored one?" 😂 11:36 The music always cooks! Cannon is still crazy for his terrible take on Haikyu's music. 22:47 🤣 This reaction! Y'all FINALLY didn't miss the post credits scenes! I don't think anyone will disagree with you about wanting to see even more of their school years, just because we all love the series and want to spend more time with these characters. Although, the beloved 3rd years would be gone. That top 3 discussion was too funny. Carter was feeling attacked. 😂 40:34 From not knowing if you'd even like Haikyu to not being able to imagine another sports anime topping it. I honestly can't tell you if there's a better sports anime out there, since the only other sports anime I've watched, as of now, is Blue Lock and I do think Haikyu is better. I'm glad you guys ended up loving Haikyu so much, it's been such a fun journey and I'm sad it's almost over. That's weird to say because there's more Haikyu to come, but we don't know when the next movie is or how much it's gonna adapt or anything like that. It sucks being unsure. Funny Brig mentioned tennis anime, because there are a few I know of. I haven't personally seen them though, so Idk how good they are. As for basketball, there's Kuroko's Basketball and Slam Dunk, I've heard good things about both of those and want to check them out. 🤷🏽♀️
22:45 I remember watching this for the first time, it was 2 am, I was in my hostel, I laughed so hard, I couldn't stop laughing, me and roomie watched this scene 3 times and we were literally rolling on the floor laughing and crying 30:18 Season 2 is my favorite too 34:18 we need more 😭 40:34 I totally agree, Nothing will top Haikyuu I believe 42:04 right I feel so blessed, I've played volleyball on a national level, this is my comfort anime ❤️🩹
Glad y’all enjoyed this! There are still a lot of great sports anime out there, Slam Dunk (basketball), Hajime no Ippo (boxing). Hope y’all get to them someday.
You guys need to check out the manga even if you can't react to it Also, although I'd love to see every single year individually, all I can promise is that the ending handles everything perfectly.
While I agree that the fandom will not disagree that we could've gotten more episodes to know the characters more, I think the essence Furudate sensei made it this way is to honor volleyball. And more episodes to showcase the succeeding years without the whole crew (Daichi, Asahi and Sugawara) will not be the same. Furthermore, more episodes will not guarantee us new techniques and it can be repetitive so giving us just this year and knowing that the team will still have more potential gives the whole anime a little mystique to it with touch of nostalgia. It's like thinking of your classmates in HS or college and wondering what happened to them. But don't worry guys, the ending gives the whole fandom a sense of satisfaction so as what Shimizu said "Minna, Ganbare" :)
The fact that there are so many chapters left in the manga, yet we’ll see it all condensed into just one movie, is truly heartbreaking. 😥 It’s sad to think about how much will be left out.
All the seasons in Haikyuu has it's moments and the struggle of rating\comparing them is real, mainly because of how they were paced. You could say "season 3 is not as good as season 2", but season 3 is literally just one match. Season 2 had twice as many episodes and a whole training arc to rack up points. The best way to compare series is actually in terms of different arcs and matches. This way you are going to get a broader and more accurate comparison. Also while season 3 had a lot of amazing moments, season 2 had the final point of Aoba Johsai vs Karasuno match. Also it's easy to forget, but Season 1 had a lot of "hooks" that makes you keep watching and if it didn't do the job, you wouldn't have kept watching.
The Ultimate "DOITSUMO KOITSUMO" lmao.. when Carter started saying that phrase, I immediately thought of the scene.. I was like: wait until they see this ep hahaha
The want for more is so real!! It kind of reminds of this other tennis anime where you got to see them in the Olympics I think or some sort of international stage and it was sooooo interesting seeing how different players from different schools played in the same team!
I can only count on one hand the anime/manga with THE PERFECT ending, and Haikyu is on my top-one list. The only thing lacking was the studio's execution of adapting this perfect manga.
O tanto que eu já chorei com Haikyuu não tá escrito, sempre um prazer ver outras pessoas vendo o anime, o filme é muito bom também, quero muito ver a reação deles
The haikyu rewatch effect is crazy, it gets better each rewatch :))) Also, idk if y'all saw the OVA from season 2 for "failing grades" (when hinata/kageyama fail their exams), Carter would love that OVA to get that slice of life he's missing :3
If they love Haikyuu I think they're gonna love Kuroko no Basuke. I don't like basketball but the anime really made me interested on watching games. The characters have varied personalities too.
I'm so happy you guys have Hinata as number 1. He really deserve it. He's the mc for a reason. Personally, I like how he's such a ball of sunshine. Forever my fave mc ❤
Rewatching this show with you guys was an amazing journey. I am really glad that I watched this anime its been a journey, I have rewatched it multiple times since then. Love this anime
Can't wait for you guys to react to the movie. I think it's chill but the message was definitely delivered across- on how passionate people love volleyball and how it changes their life is. Sooooooo good and successful.
Crying again because season 4 is tear-wracking and I can't help it, I'm really sensitive to good stories. Thank you so much for this journey, guys, you've been amazing!! Now to the movie 🎉
There is actually a really great American Football manga titled "Eyeshield 21". Wish it gets an anime remake. For tennis, my favorite is probably "Baby Steps', but it also doesn't get a full anime adaptation. Baseball also has a couple of cool ones, "Ace of Diamond", "Big Windup", "One Outs".
10:19 you can see the whole team not wanting to lose so they speed up the game trying to make a point and by looking at the side of the screen it gets gray showing that their point of view is narrow and tense. 12:53 is basically a callback to when kageyama & Hinata did the quick in season 1 and Oikawa stopped the ball and got the last point. We see them stopped the ball when the twins were doing the quick as the last play bc they would’ve have made the last play too just to win like in season 1.
Okay, hear me out. After the movie, they all come up with their own starting line up from any player from any team. That'd be an interesting conversation to have
Can't wait for you guys reaction to the movie! For me, the Karasuno vs Nekoma game felt like the longest and most exhausting thing I've read (manga) and watched (movie) of all the anime I've seen even though I didn't even play 😆 Prepare yourself for this really amazing movie 🙌🏻
"That's such a random post-credit." I love how he pointed that out, especially since Coach Ukai's significance to the Dumpster Battle will be highlighted in the movie. P.S. I bawled my eyes out during "that" scene.
16:23 when I first saw this scene where "Husband" points out Hinata and says "I'm gonna be setting to you one day", I got so hyped thinking we'd actually see that. Then they announced movies to end the series, so I guess we'll never actually get it smh.
To answer y’all’s question about not needing the other years. The manga ends the series beautiful and is probably one of my favorite endings to any story. I’m worried about the movie adaptations but the first one did a great job and was a fantastic movie. If you guys like the characters and story I would 100% recommend reading the manga starting with the dumpster battle (a good amount of the match is cut for obvious time reasons) but I’m super scared for 90% of the remaining content being shoved into a final movie.
every fan wants more haikyuu and for some reason the studio decided to condense the remaining 100+ chapters into 2 or 3 movies. that's like a whole season worth of chapters it's impossible to fit into movies a lot of scenes/plots will be cut off/shortened. that makes me sad. but hey, the journey of this show was a masterpiece
I would love a pin off of her, but she didn't go to Karasuno, she went to Niiyama, the same school Kanoka, Tanaka's childhood friend, went. Although, thanks to that, we can assume she is very very good, since that's the girls equivalent to Shiratorizawa in Miyagi (I would argue that they are even on another level than Shiratorizawa, but that's another discussion) and she is a starter there, so... deffenetly amazing
@@Oikawasglassess Oh, totally agree, besides being another school, a good one from the start, and girls sport would be different enough to not feel repetitive, especially because profesionals reactors often comment on how different boys volleyball is to girls. And of course, I would take anything that would give me more Haikyuu, although I'm soooo satisfyed with the ending
agreed, need more haikyuu. Even knowing what's gonna happen as a manga reader, the movies aren't going to be enough to cover it accurately. I'd argue, they could've made more haikyuu episodes about stuff the manga didn't cover.

You've come so far boys! I still remember how yall were so skeptical towards this anime about volleyball. I'm so happy I got to rewatch this series with you.
Kita’s last phrase is so underrated. Youll feel this more if you were an athlete and graduating without bringing home the trophy. It stings 😢
Been an absolute pleasure watching you guys experience the hype that is Haikyuu!
I know Jack felt that there is no way Nekoma can beat Karasuno but you have to remember, Kuroo is technically Tsukki's mentor for blocking. He's the goat. Also, Kenma is like this AI setter who could learn from the data you feed him and adjust his tactics, that is some superpower shi LOL
we came from "it's just a vollyball" to this 🔥
I agree fully, the potential is massive for spinoffs series, following different teams or different players we like. Just imagine a spinoff following the little giant and how he climbed to the top, seeing all the simillarities between him and hinata. Having spinoffs of like olympic games and you see grown-ups of the characters we like playing togheter would be so fire!
"Dude, is that ball the honoured one?" 🤣
Hahaha that was so funny
I cant believe this journey is about to come to an end... You guys really made it memorable (got me into anime again) and i ´m so glad you enjoy haikyuu as much as we do!!
the announcers and osts made this match so hype😭😭😭
✨ *Unpopular Opinion: Tsukki's narration at the end point of their game against Inarazaki is one of the best lines in Haikyuu. I love that they let the blocking GOAT, gave the last words upon why Hinata and Kageyama are better at handling their own quick, be it on doing it themselves or stopping it. Tsukki is so grown to love volleyball so much that he talks a lot now huhu* 💕
I really doubt it's an unpopular opinion, but I do agree with Tsukki's narration being top tier
When the twin said to Hinata, i Will be setting for you some day, was a compliment because he is going pro someday
Brig can be a great slice of life writer 😅
The smile in the thumbnail just makes me soooo happy
13:17 power of friendship 😭😭
I always thought the last point was shown through Kita's eyes as a sign of an alternate ending where if he was on the court, he would've been there to pick it up! But the last point was so HYPE!!! I'm glad you guys stuck with Haikyuu. This was so much fun to experience with you guys.
If you're looking for a good sports anime, then definitely Slam Dunk, it's a great story and does super well withing the confines of it just being a "just basketball anime" lovable character and good story
Wow... That's a great point.
oH GOD I CANT WAIT FOR THE MOVIE REACTION
Gek rekt moment. xD
Totally agreed with your guys Caption. It's really an ABSOLUTE CINEMA 🗿🙇🙏
Watchers/Readers forget that Nekoma has never lost to Karasuno in any practice matches across all of their lineup iterations. The only ones who know in the story are the teams involved since this is their first official match in history. Everyone else is out of the loop
I’ll just say that the manga cooks, trust the process, even if we do want more content, the author had a very specific journey in mind
haikyuu has the best ending at least that's what the streets say. I'm only reading the manga after they finish the adaptations but I've heard about some stuff and it sounds goated.
The movie is 10/10 but I wish it was wayyyy longer (mostly bc im greedy with Haikyuu lol)
And about the top 3, you guys have been the only reactors I've seen do it so easily fr I can't do it to this day and I've rewatched it about 8 times.
Remember that Suga was one of those who had the most patience with Hinata, who only cared about jumping high and finishing, that's why he was excited to see how Hinata now understands the game and how much he grew.❤❤
That NICE KILL from Kageyama always gets me 🤣
When everything starts turning into a tier discussion 😂 I hear that and I know im near/amongst my kind of people lmao 🤙🏽
PEAK HAIKYUU
I'm so mad the animation studio is just making movies, they cut out so many important moments from the karasuno vs nekoma match especially kageyama's and nishinoya's
So true when i watched the movie i was like wtf. Like it didn't feel like haikyuu really 😢
Yes 😢
Hinata is a growing character now (some other characters too) but his development and passion def didnt stop after high school it is extremely satisfying to watch how much more he disciplines himself and reach to a level (that is if you read manga of cos we dont know how much they’ll animate)
I saw this on tumblr and it’s a personal fav analysis of mine : we only read about hinata (and kageyama) first year because of how special the team was to them; the writer wanted to paint this year as a beautiful and precious memory. they def went through a lot this year, the team being in the sewage, getting belittled, but finally reconnecting with other teams which were once close, getting amazing club advisor and coach, hinata FINALLY getting an actual team, properly learning to play and kageyama getting a team that understands and supports him, finally getting over his middle school horrors and finding the “someone better” iykyk ;) slight dialogue spoiler but kageyama himself said in manga “I wanted to take THIS TEAM further” and suga cried… so yeah maybe it’s for the sentimental value
Although, you might get disappointed that their years are not longer you def wont be disappointed with every character conclusions!!! Haikyuu is one of the manga with the most amazing ending and character conclusions!!!
edit: if you really do want to see other life aspects of them, there are special audio dramas and ‘haikyuu bu’ manga they are pretty funny lol
I think you guys would love RUN WITH THE WIND! Such an emotional sport anime. surprised me how much I enjoyed it.
I love the collect love of dachi underrated if you ask me
So sick how Haikyuu, a sports anime about volleyball, makes you literally just as hyped as big fights like Rock Lee vs.
11:26 "Dude, is that ball the honored one?" 😂
11:36 The music always cooks!
40:34 From not knowing if you'd even like Haikyu to not being able to imagine another sports anime topping it.
13:28 Those last moments are always the best moments in sports anime. I hope you get to watch more of them from other sports anime too!
22:43 EPIC MOMENT 😂😂
22:45 I remember watching this for the first time, it was 2 am, I was in my hostel, I laughed so hard, I couldn't stop laughing, me and roomie watched this scene 3 times and we were literally rolling on the floor laughing and crying
30:18 Season 2 is my favorite too
34:18 we need more 😭
40:34 I totally agree, Nothing will top Haikyuu I believe
42:04 right I feel so blessed, I've played volleyball on a national level, this is my comfort anime ❤️🩹
Glad y’all enjoyed this! There are still a lot of great sports anime out there, Slam Dunk (basketball), Hajime no Ippo (boxing). Hope y’all get to them someday.
You guys need to check out the manga even if you can't react to it
Also, although I'd love to see every single year individually, all I can promise is that the ending handles everything perfectly.
But don't worry guys, the ending gives the whole fandom a sense of satisfaction so as what Shimizu said "Minna, Ganbare" :)
the rewatch value of haikyuu is sooo great, I would never get bored of any second of it
How is Haikyuu already over? It's like we started last month 😂
I can never shut up about how good Haikyuu is!!
13:50 oh my gosh thank you Brig for noticing!!! Amazing storytelling!!
I would love 10+ more seasons of Haikyuu!🔥 So much more could be shown! 😭
Every time I watch season four I marvel at how much Hinata has grown since season one! 😭 I get goosebumps every time! 🔥
I can only count on one hand the anime/manga with THE PERFECT ending, and Haikyu is on my top-one list.
The only thing lacking was the studio's execution of adapting this perfect manga.
That really epic but next with nekoma's match is super epic. Cant wait you guy watch the match.
Daichi #1 for life, he carried the torch for two years waiting for his chance and is the foundation of the team.
Rewatching this show with you guys was an amazing journey. I am really glad that I watched this anime its been a journey, I have rewatched it multiple times since then. Love this anime
Binged the reactions within a 24 hour time frame 😭
Can't wait for you guys to react to the movie. I think it's chill but the message was definitely delivered across- on how passionate people love volleyball and how it changes their life is. Sooooooo good and successful.
25:36 RIP to the OG Coach Ukai
just kidding tho I must say the author keeps on putting death flags around him as a manga reader lol
“How can can a volleyball anime be hype?” Well… I’m glad they have experienced PEAKNESS and have realized the power of sports anime 🔥
If you love the everyday life part of these shows then you'd enjoy Run with the Wind
Can't wait for your reaction to the movie!! And yes, hopefully the creators realize seasons have more emotion than movies
Loved this journey with you guys 🫶🏻
A peak replacement for haikyuu is hajime no ippo, second fav sports anime
every fan wants more haikyuu and for some reason the studio decided to condense the remaining 100+ chapters into 2 or 3 movies. that's like a whole season worth of chapters it's impossible to fit into movies a lot of scenes/plots will be cut off/shortened. that makes me sad. but hey, the journey of this show was a masterpiece
I wish there was a spinoff/sequal with hinata’s little sister going to karasuno and we get to see the girls play 😭🙏
@@Tshh11I’d honestly be down to see that too, just any continuation would be good 😭🙏
@@Oikawasglassess Oh, totally agree, besides being another school, a good one from the start, and girls sport would be different enough to not feel repetitive, especially because profesionals reactors often comment on how different boys volleyball is to girls. And of course, I would take anything that would give me more Haikyuu, although I'm soooo satisfyed with the ending
@15:27 That's the real relatability of sports. Another athlete relating hard to Nekoma
agreed, need more haikyuu. Even knowing what's gonna happen as a manga reader, the movies aren't going to be enough to cover it accurately. I'd argue, they could've made more haikyuu episodes about stuff the manga didn't cover.
