I once had a yz 85 and my friend had a crf 150r. The CRF 150R is aggressively louder sounding than the 85, but I enjoy the sound of the 85 coz it’s a 2 stroke.

The 150r is in this video and is a race bike, the 150f is the trail bike with less power. So for those of you saying the 85 will smoke the 150r, youre sadly mistaken. I think you mean the 85 will smoke the 150F, not the 150r. The one 150r competes with 85s becaus theyre similar in power and if not, the 150r is actually more powerful. The yz85 run around 17-19 hp stock while the crf150r runs around 20-21 stock. So sorry 2 smokers, 4 thumper takes the cake for this one

150 doesn't sound good when reving it up but when it idles it does, I still think the 85 sounds better it probably is just running on different type of oil

When I was youngIi used to ride XL100 honda k3, that is a normal super loyal bullet proof enduro. slow if want to compare with XR and little less with CRF R.....back then I used to ride against RM and YZ 80cc ofcourse they war faster than my XL100, they didi no left me that far away in some areas of the track i got very close to the yz 80 yellow model aluminum gas tank. I trayed later with a XR 80 and they left me back at start, but when we at pilot skill there war no much difference ...And those kids war champs...i was 18 years old(XR80 was to small frame for me , they war 13/14. years old. and very light and fast kids . NOw if the xr (forget the honorable Xl100) was a respectable fighter (not a winner) you can imagine if CRF ""R"" was back then in the 1980s....CRF 150R is a monster, there is not 80cc that can do something about agains CRF R. not even the KX85, that some times kx85 kick some 125 2 strokes.....I know I been there. I wish I wahs 18 years again. with all respect to YZ RM CR and KX, but honestly. that CRF R is a monster.I hada lots of YzRM and CRs.....I love 2 strokes to.The only thing I don t really know is how long CRF R last. I have a yz 125 and yz 80 my yz 80 is stock is 14 15 hp but a have new full exhaust with pipe so its makes it up to 21 22 hp so in the videos 85 is stock then 150 takes the win on power but if uou wont fast you take the stock 85 if you need both then you need to buy full exhaust and pipe so fast and powerfull bcause the havy 150 is not go fast but run powerfull so 85 should take the win
