- Oz is the epitome of an Aquarius INTP characterization and I want to either be him or date him. Plus, is it just me, or is he very underrated?
On another note, hi, hello, sorry I keep disappearing for months, life is crazy but I promise I will never stop making compilations like this until I've done one for each of my favorite characters :)

Oz was a great equalizer for the dramatic tone of the show. He never changed his demeanor, even when he's upset.

His stoicism is quite clever, because it demonstrates his animal nature without overtly showing it at first. Oz always reacts to human 'Big Brain' emotions with some distance from them, and without coupling them to thoughts, like, "huh...a complex higher-order feeling...how interesting and compelling". It sets him apart from his very first scenes. Yet when he experiences primal emotions such as anger, fear or possessiveness (cf. his encounter with Tara), he doesn't even stop to think or remark, and just acts (destructively), which is the Were nature.

I like and love Oz way more than Xander. I didn't like the way Xander talked to Buffy at Dead Man's party episode, and he knew Willow was with Oz and didn't care he was kissing Willow when they were trapped in that room and Cordelia and Oz got their heart broken. I felt so bad for them especially Oz he did not deserve that at all. And Oz has never talked to Buffy crazy like Xander did, especially in Dead Man's party episode. Oz stayed out of it and minded his own business which is exactly what Xander should've did lol 😆.
it's too bad he opted to leave the series but, seriously, he was the best
I don't think he's THE best but he's definitely a great character who had more potential.
I don’t like the new characters except Tara. Anya and Dawn are the worst.

Definitely, Dawn was added in unnecessarily. Nothing against Tara myself, she's a cutie but Oz is Willow's true love.

Oz had no idea there vampires, but his aunt and uncle were totally chill about their toddler werewolf child. Strange family.
His family was in many ways like him. Very accepting of a world that seemed insane, if only just out of direct sight. Notice that when he found out about vampires, he reacts as I like to think I would. That it explains a lot of the weird shit Sunnydale just seems to willfully ignore. The homecoming and graduation episodes are excellent examples of how a lot of them know something's fishy, they just can't put it into words or connect all the dots. And when someone comes along and explains the last few pieces, there's not a moment's hesitation or rejection of the truth. They all know, but subconsciously. So Oz's family are just exceptionally aware and chill about it.
Also, where are Oz's parents?
@@poppitron3609 Funny enough, we at least hear about his parents even if we never see them. His mom specifically I think, if memory serves.
@@theodorebricker7492 No, I think it's his Aunt we hear about because of his werewolf cousin. He makes a throwaway comment about his parents in "Band Candy" but that's all.
I think it’s like True Blood but in reverse how that universe vampires are real but in most media it’s JUST vampires and humans and you’d never suspect other supernatural creatures existing until you encountered them. He could be a werewolf but think it’s just werewolves and humans.
How could you leave out possibly his best line: “We attack the Mayor with hummus”

I agree. I actively disliked Tara for replacing him until about "Family". Finally accepted her when she stopped being so nervous and actively told off Willow for overusing magic and was more forthright.
He was definitely one of the most entertaining characters. I want an Oz in my life

Oz is a wonderful character it’s a shame that the reason Seth green left buffy was that he was shooting a movie abroad and he couldn’t come back. Unfortunately the movie didn’t get released and he regrets leaving Buffy

It’s the never coming back part that sucks, I love Tara but Oz never felt finished
What I'd give for an Oz and Spike buddy cop show we literally get the to best characters and throw out all the boring ones. Think about people a vampire and a werewolf solving crimes and killing demons .
I Need, I Need, I Need! they would be great too! Spike can smell blood and Oz can smell fear. Interogation would be a snap!

Man I loved Oz. I hated that he left. But maybe knowing what we know now he had his reasons.
I read he was offered some movie roles and as Seth felt the Oz character was not being developed fully, he asked to leave, but was happy to come back in a recurring role. Apparently Josh was fine with this and as he was planning to have a gay character, Willow's character was utilized. Thus the role of Oz became somewhat superfluous.
Oz would have been my best friend.

I laughed so hard at this scene when I first saw it; best Willow and Oz moment 😭
Ikr? That was the shy Willow decides she's ready to show Oz how much she cares for him by surprising him with Barry White, seductive lighting and her v-card. I love that he knew it wasn't the right time in their relationship and they weren't ready. But way later when he "panics" that was perfect.
I actually think that the "Panicking" scene is the best Willow/Oz moment. That being said, every scene with them is the perfect mix of adorkable and awkward and funny and sweet. I love them 3,000.
Oz is the level of chill I aspire to be. Minus the werewolf side
Oz has always been my favorite character, before and after becoming a werewolf. My childhood girlfriend and I used to call ourselves Willow and Oz because we were very much like them. To this day I tend to be the calmer but not too serious one who will usually provide the sarcastic quip when needed. I was saddened to see him out of the show but the book they based on him was so good. Here's to the best character in the series.

Oz was great. I'm so glad they changed plans to have Angel kill him. I love that moment in What's My Line (seen at 0:24 in this video) where he realises exactly who's just sat next to him, up until this point he's just been rather taken with her from afar but now he finally has a chance to talk to her.
Speaking of the plans to have Angel kill him, I often wonder if some scenes were filmed before that change was made. Watch Willow's reaction to Giles telling her that Jenny is dead. Sure, they were on friendlier terms than a usual student and teacher, but Willow breaking down and collapsing in tears as she does would have made a lot more sense if she'd just been told her boyfriend was dead)
Am Aqua/Capricorn INXP autistic (diagnosed) and my old College friends would always compare me to Oz. Been years since I left school, and I haven't seen those people since, for reasons I myself am not even sure of, which I guess is very Oz-like behaviour.

I keep forgetting that Seth Green was in this.
Remember when Oz was babysitting Dawn and she be like: "So you help my sister with her slayer stuff? Are you not afraid?". "I'm werewolf". "Oh! We still have dog cookies somewhere". It's hilarious, because earlier in the series Angelus killed Dawn dog, when he was tormenting Buffy.
I can’t believe Oz and Tara are gone. Worst part Willow couldn’t be with one of them and without them ,Willow becomes a jerk.
She ended up with Kennedy. I really disliked her especially the way she talked to Buffy at times in her own home.

Willow, though ostensibly sweet and good-natured, proved she could easily be awful on her own steam, and frankly beyond season one she isn't a stable, mature, honest or even compassionate friend & ally to Buffy/the Scoobies. It took her partner dying and a mental breakdown to get her to take any responsibility. There's a reason she was best friends with someone like Xander, and that Oz walked away from her (wisely)...

Thank you. I get a lot of hate about not liking Tara's character at all. Sure its mostly because I loved Oz with Willow but seriously I felt no chemistry whatsoever with Willow and her.
The point of Tara is that the abusive phobic Xtian family who brought her up squashed much of her formative personality & expression--she's meant to be inhibited.
