If you end up going back, I believe the fence that you came across in the video is actually a primitive gate. It looks like there is a loop of wire at the top of the stick to the left that's holding it tight. You should be able to lift that loop of wire and pull the stick back allowing you to pass through without having to go over, just make sure you close it behind you. Also, I really appreciate the video, I just found out about this trail a couple of days ago and it seems like it required bushwhacking to get through not that long ago. However, after seeing this it seems like a viable weekend trip. It looks like they're making pretty decent progress clearing it out. Hopefully it'll be fully ride able one day I'd love to give it a shot.

I just happened across your video. I live in Roxton, so I thought it was neat to see your video. I don’t bike so I haven’t really seen the trail much myself, but I enjoy seeing everyone come thru from time to time.

are you using a gravel bike or a road bike with gravel tires? I'm thinking of doing this, but I only have a road bike. Any suggestions?

Hey thanks Nate! I ran the trail 4 years ago and got lost at the same spot in Pecan Gap. I'm going to run the whole thing in a few weeks so your video really helps "crazy" Ultra runners like me. Looking forward to the second half! I've logged well over 4,000 miles on this trail mostly Merit/Celeste and back to Farmersville (2020 I had 2,400).

Don't you just love it when it rains...and rains...and rains. I was on a trip where I was stuck in the tent for a day and a half.
Cheers on a nice vid mate 👍
