Spectacular views from High Stile ridge, the dappled sunlight racing across the mountains is something else. Absolutely beautiful.

This is my favourite section of the Lakes, nothing beats going from High Crag to Red Pike and then descending to Buttermere.

Fantastic video and superb photos. The views were fantastic. I did a walk from Honister pass via Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks, High Stile, High Crag and Red Pike down to Buttermere a few years ago in awful weather and was in low cloud for the high Crag to Red Pike ridge and had no views whatsoever. I remember the descent from Red Pike to Buttermere was horrendous. Really enjoy watching your vlogs.

Great vlog Glen! Am working my way through your old stuff slowly. Have watched a lot of Scotland’s Mountains vlogs, as I have been bagging Munro’s, but am now working on Wainwright’s as they are nearer to my South Yorkshire home. Doing the Newlands Horseshoe in a couple of weeks after watching your vlog. Your photography skills are tremendous…. Keep on trekking buddy.

We did this walk a couple of years ago but the opposite way - could not find the path down from Dodd at all - ended up coming around by the wall and down by Sour Milk gill - horrendous. A beautiful walk though - Buttermere fells are usually so quiet and there are fantastic views. Thanks for sharing - time lapse sections of the weather were wonderful!

So that's what the views are like 🤩 we went up the side of scale force when we did it. Part of the path had fallen into scale force so had to pull off a bit of a dodgy manoeuvre clutching lucky heather. Then when we got up top the weather came in and it was a complete white out until we dropped down the other side. Still a great day out though and looking forward to doing it again on a clear day. Probably up past bleaberry tarn onto the saddle. Heading to the lakes on Monday. Can't wait🙌🏻

Incredible footage and a really informative vlog again Glen. I was opposite here last weekend on part of the Newland Round. I've not ventured this far west yet but there is something quite special with these fells. I'm based in Barrow, what is the best route to Buttermere? Did you go via Keswick or would it be more feasible via the Cumbrian coast?
