Best hiking channel on TH-cam in my opinion, your photography is amazing!please don’t change because of one silly person. Thank you from Australia.
Why you only got 3k subscribers, is the world mad? This is THE best channel for the Lakes and should have millions of subscribers. Your filming and photos are sublime and has made me yearn to get back to the Lakes after not being there for over 20 years. Thank you 🙏
I loved this one! I feel it’s something I could do too! I adore the drone footage so don’t stop! The golden glow just before the sun disappears is absolutely stunning! Really enjoyed this 🍀
I love your casual approach to your Vlogs, it makes watching them a pleasure. I can't believe someone could complain about your drone footage. Welcome to our new World, after all, Drones are only an extension of our own eyes. There are many out there that can't climb mountains to see the magnificent scenery, so thank you Glenn, your drone footage is very much appreciated by many. 🌄🤓😆
Thanks for the great videos, yours are the ones I watch when considering which walks to do. I did this one a couple of weeks ago, the first walk on my Wainwright challenge to do 70 at 70. I also did the Coledale Horseshoe, 55 years after I last did it as a schoolboy at our camp in Borrowdale. The fells are now steeper, but the paths are much easier to follow.
Brilliant video as always..thank you so much. Loved the lambs. Keep doing the drone footage despite the abuse...sigh. Again, well done, we love your work.
Ignore the numpties kicking off about the drones. It's great to see a different view. I have just started watching your vlogs and have pencilled this walk in for me and my buddies. Thanks for the vis and also for including the routes. Very much appreciated.

Just did this route last week, was great to do it same direction as I’d have likely gone clockwise and started at Helm Crag otherwise. A lot greener now too. Great route 👍👍
Glad you could put it behind you, i've no doubt you were calm and polite with the angry bystander. Clearly doesn't know how much respect you show for lakeland. Another great vlog
Well done Glenn, another beautiful video. Regarding the complaining ninny, no one owns our wonderful countryside and therefore haven't much right to complain. It's obvious that you are a very responsible person who loves to be out there appreciating OUR gorgeous countryside. Keep doing what you're doing!
Great vlog as always Glen The drone footage really shows the magnitude/depth of the magnificent fells you bring us That guy sounds a right 🛎 end Keep them coming pal 👊
Another vote for you to keep filming with the drone. It really gives a great perspective to the lay of the land. Another great video and another one to inspire us to do this walk.
One of the best hiking Vlog channels on the whole of TH-cam!!! Down to earth. Clean and simple. Informative and unpretentious. And some really outstanding photographs and drone footage. Far too many Vlogers that just use the world as a film set for their own ego,, so your are literally a breath of fresh air !!! Angry anti drone man needs to take a chill pill. It’s not his back garden.
Just subscribed.... Fantastic stuff on here. Just booked a few days at end of month on the back of watching. Love the drone footage. Keep up posting mate.
So sorry to hear you suffered some verbal for going out of you way to get us some drone footage - not a pleasant experience and I'm sure that you were just unlucky with that one individual on this occasion. Thanks so much - really lovely vlog. Loved the "Herdy welcoming committee" at the gate!
New to your channel and wow easily the best Lakes or any other area come to that, hiking vlog I've seen and the beautiful drone footage is awesome (keep going with it, despite the haters) i live in Penrith and have been verbally abused when out mountain biking on the fells. Love the camera view when walking, looks very professional and along with your comments are so inspirational, we will use some of your routes on future walks
Hey Glenn, hope you’re well. My wife and I did this walk yesterday and had a great day. We started from the lay-by on the A591 rather than Grasmere village, and returned by coming back off Helm Crag onto Bracken Hause and taking the path back down into the valley. Great recommendation 👍👍👍
Keep the drone footage coming, shame you had a bad experience with someone, in the past if ive put my drone up and people have appeared, they have always seemed interested in seeing what the drone is seeing, and alway been pleasant and friendly, another great video 👍
Wow.... As all ways .that opening amazing... It just got better . You have come into your own, funny 🤣 loving it . IV all ready watched your Volgs over . Thank you very much
I cannot believe how people get over drones. If a helicopter was filming would he be angry or a fighter jet training flying through the mountains. Honestly cannot understand the anger. You are a true gentleman and very impressive how you put it behind you and continued to make a great video. The drone footage and music is brilliant keep on flying. Thanks for lake district videos i love them . David
Thanks for sharing. Great location and hike as usual. Keep the drone footage coming, it adds to the whole experience, especially for people who, for whatever reason can't personally experience the scenery like many of us can. The person you encountered would likely have had issue with anything and anybody for any reason he could use. He will eventually bump into someone intolerant to his intolerance :)
Did this walk yesterday (070921) after watching your great VLOG. Started walking @07:30 but soon became a brutal walk in the heat. Suffering a bit today lol. Would recommend it to anyone though.
Stunning walk with great views, especially the views down the Far Easdale valley coming off Calf Crag heading to Gibson Knott. Great work kee up the drone footage, you will always get moaners.
Another cracking video and amazing route. Love the drone footage and you sound like you are being respectful so keep it coming. I, like you, am very conscious when using my drone. Some absolutely stunning views
Thanks so much Mark, I do try to consider others but when you're as blind as a bat like I am you sometimes don't see people. Perhaps I shouldn't be flying 🤔😂
Great video as always Glenn - as you know this has been long awaited for me and you certainly did it justice. I can’t wait to get up there next month. Keep up the great work my friend 👍🏻
Another great video, last weeks one was just too much, so I drove 800 mile round trip to the lakes and spent 3 days living in my van and walking the fells. Keep up the drone footage ;-)
I really enjoy your drone footage so keep on doing it! Your vlog's are so interesting and i enjoy looking at the video of your walks. I operate amateur radio from the fells but i always keep away from other people but i have also experienced aggresive people also who think the hills just belong to them. However most people are just interested in what i am doing. It also interests me when people are using drones. Look forward to your next vlog.
Keep the drone, push the moron into a tarn. Sorted. Love the videos, fella... and me and a buddy are doing this very walk tomorrow, inspired by your vlog. :)
Your clearly a very conscientious drone flyer, checking before hand and genuinely not wanting to disturb anyone. That one person who was aggressive even after you trying to reason with is well out of order, maybe they were just having a bad day. Keep doing your thing and trying your best, that's all anyone can ask. 👊👊
Awesome stuff mate! Inspiring outdoors content showing off the best of the lakes! I also spied a Snickers Duo - a man of great taste! 🤣 keep these coming mate

I generally don't mind the drones but I did have one fella launch one in Luds Church just as I entered it and it was hovering about 12ft above my head for a few minutes. In the end I'm afraid to say I lost my temper as I'd walked half a day to get there and there were a few other people there who weren't impressed. He could have easily waited for the few people around to take a look around and leave and then use it.
Once again great vlog and outstanding footage mate 👍 insane views! I have to say that what you’re doing is fantastic 👌🏼 👏 Still waiting mind for this Black Combe vlog 😂
If I may make a suggestion I'd love to see you do Sharp Edge with the drone and all the good stuff. Bet that would be Epic. Obviously conditions permitted.
It's on the list. I was planning to do it last week but the only day that I could go, the cloud base was right down. Definitely needs to be a clear day for the footage on that one 😊
Am a bit late to this party and I don't know which drone you use Mr. C (I'm guessing it's a DJI) but get yourself some three-blade rotors and no-one will know it's up. Big fan, by the way; keep up the awesome work.
I walked the Newlands Horseshoe two weeks ago,. By the end of the walk I looked like a tomato 😂 Helm Crag at sunset is stunning, one of the best views in the Lakes
Watching this on the big screen. ABSOLUTELY SICK IMAGES. Love your work so much. Would you be happy to share what Drone you use; I'm thinking of getting one for personal use. Thanks in advance. Gina.
Another great video mate. Don’t give up on the Drone footage it’s incredible! Annoying when people have a go at you when your doing nothing wrong/ illegal. Tell them to p*ss off lol. You ever done/ plan on doing Blencathra? Via Hallsfell Ridge / sharp edge? Would love to see you capture some footage up there.
Thanks very much buddy 😊 Yep, I'm planning on doing that exact route... Up sharp down halls fell. Just waiting for the right weather/time of the day (no people) 😁
Thanks for this brilliant vlog, Glenn. Mark and I did this walk last year, by exactly the same route. Unlike you though, we got to the white houses at the "start" of Steel Fell when we realised neither of us had paid for the car park, so we had to bomb it back to the village, shove money in the meter and start again 🤦♀️. Lucky it was early morning so the parking warden hadn't yet surfaced. Anyway, this was a fabulous memory jogger, and I agree, the views are spectacular the whole route round. What a slog it is up Steel Fell - glad you thought so too; we just thought we were unfit! Shame about the anti-drone encounter; all you can do is continue to be as considerate as you are and keep the footage coming if possible; it's always so fabulous. BTW did you go to UVHS....? Anyway, thanks again. Loving all your vlogs. Yvette and Mark
Blimey, you saw five people, and one of them turned out to be Mr Angry?! Bad luck I guess, but don't let it get to you, keep the drone footage coming. Keep up the good work mate I also enjoy the drone footage so f em mate👍 it amazes me that people can be that much of an arse approaching a stranger shouting and swearing, im a pretty laid back guy but he would have had an ear full back 👍
Another great vlog. Please keep going with the drone as it really distinguishes your stuff from many of the others. Unfortunately there will always be ar@eholes! 👍👍👍
Taking advantage if the recent good weather.....like a conveyer belt of vlogs just recently :) nobody will complain with that though. Incredible stuff as always. I'm back in the lakes on Saturday, treating myself to a striding edge circular early morning so hoping for some good light and some nice cloud patches......also sod the guy over the drone footage. I've seen people.flying drones and it doesn't bother me. At the end of the day drones don't have much in the can in terms of battery so they aren't up long anyway. He needs get a life. Probably jealous of those calf muscles 🤣🤣
If this was Thursday last week then we were up High Raise via Easedale/Codale tarn. It was a fantastic day! I think I'll have the T-Shirt tan all year😂 we also only saw about 5 people. As for drone rage guy... If you are courteous enough to check for people first and don't purposely dive bomb people then I don't see the problem. Sounds like he needs to watch a certain recommended TH-cam channel and chill out😉
Glenn, sorry to hear about your fell-rage incident. I wonder whether your raging friend considers the noise pollution from Dunmail Raise (or the occasional jet for that matter) to be an acceptable part of the Lakeland soundscape?
I understand why people won’t like drones but they don’t own the land and you have aircraft and helicopters flying over anyway so I say continue using drones as the images you get are amazing
Another outstanding vlog and drone views. The idiot who gave you abuse is not worth a thought mate - his intellect is as forgettable as his verbal style was ignorant! Keep doing exactly what you do Glenn - Dont underestimate the positive impact it has on your viewers
Keep the drone footage coming please, funny he mentioned you're interupting his peace right next to dunmail raise, does he complain when the air force fly through? Seems to be a greater influx of drone nimbys at the minute 🙄
@@BlackCrag always one, best thing is to not raise to it and move on. Sadly as drone operators we seem to inheret a bad rep from the small minority of those who aren't as considerate so idiots like this seem to tar us with the same brush.
Another cracking vlog Glenn, shame about the idiot you met on the way, if he took the trouble to watch a vlog he would quickly realise just how much respect you have for the environment and those around you while making these vlogs. 👍🏻
the thing is: even if you walk the same route, a drone shot gives a more beautiful impression of the landscape - than you have have standing or walking in the same area; so it spoils your experience when you are hiking and looking - and the humming of drones is annoying - so without the aggro, I am on the side of your ... whatever

Haha, thank you 😊 Glad you had an equally gorgeous walk too 👍
Glenn, sorry to hear about your fell-rage incident. I wonder whether your raging friend considers the noise pollution from Dunmail Raise (or the occasional jet for that matter) to be an acceptable part of the Lakeland soundscape?
That's a very valid point Stuart 👍 thank you 😊
I think the jets flying around the valleys are a bit noisier than a drone flight. I vote Drone !
Haha, thank you 😊 🙏
Hi glen ive asked his before and ive tried Shazam ( that doesn’t work ) what is the music at the beginning of the helm crag vlog
I can't remember, I'll have to dig out my notes...
Did you name your van ?
Still no name.... Yet 🙈
Thanks so much 😊 🙏
Keep using the drone. We’ve had it too. People think the lakes belong to them alone.
Thank you 😊
Keep the drone footage coming please, funny he mentioned you're interupting his peace right next to dunmail raise, does he complain when the air force fly through? Seems to be a greater influx of drone nimbys at the minute 🙄
Yes, I totally agree 😂 I find that the sound of voices travel much further than drones and can be really irritating. He was just a little angry man 😂
@@BlackCrag always one, best thing is to not raise to it and move on.
Ignore the angry person, some people think they own the fells.
the thing is: even if you walk the same route, a drone shot gives a more beautiful impression of the landscape - than you have have standing or walking in the same area; so it spoils your experience when you are hiking and looking - and the humming of drones is annoying - so without the aggro, I am on the side of your ... whatever
