In the past, I have heard from lots of dentists talking abt the only right way to brush teeth like toward teeth and tissue 45 degree and scrubbing teeth rounded
However, I have kept doubting so called "only right way". This is because it may adversely affect the tissue and get them even worse for ppl with gum recession. What I heard is that case as I thought for ppl with gum recession.
Wanna ask Dr. Joseph Nemeth that what kind of manual toothbrush would you like to recommend for ppl with gum recession?

Great explanation. You have to be gentle on the brushing. Even with electric toothbrush go easy with light pressure only. I tested a diamond care sonic toothbrush and wow it vibrates so violently I got a low end model instead and set it to soft mode. Don't be tricked into those 20x plaque removal marketing gimmicks. They brush so hard they brush your gums away. So the key is be gentle. You do have to get the plaque out of the gums but you don't need massive brushing.

    • @jonfreeman9682
      @jonfreeman9682 หลายเดือนก่อน

You should add an electric toothbrush to your cleaning. What I do is a manual toothbrush for the top surface of teeth and the tongue yes brush the 👅 too as bacteria can live there. Then use an electric toothbrush for the sides but be gentle. Light pressure only. I found the high end diamond care sonic very powerful. It promises 10x plaque removal but feel like it's brushing the gums away too. So get a lower end model and set it to soft mode. The trick is be gentle.

Hopefully the doctor will answer you directly but in the meantime I wanted to share a little bit about what I learned through other people regarding your concern. If you have any type bone loss that can also affect the bones where your teeth are anchored in your jaws.
Sometimes this is due to loss of calcium in the bones osteopenia osteoporosis. One of the things that really helps is making sure that your vitamin d levels are healthy that you're in taking a healthy amount of minerals and maybe your doctors can run some tests and see how your bones are. At the dental office you can have an x-ray of the mouth to see if you have any bone loss in your jaw that's affecting your teeth and that might be the reason why they feel loose to you.
      Hope this helps....
Wishing you the best ! 🙏

Hi,This is called gingival recession,it can be due to infections like periodontitis ,that means the attachment apparatus between teeth and gum is getting bad and that’s why gums leave your tooth and pull up ,hard tooth brushing,or poor oral hygiene. It can not be reversed on its own . However dentist can do surgeries to bring it back using grafting techniques if it is too much. Also depending on amount of gum tissue ur brushing technique shud be changed as if gums keep on receding you may have sensitivity or bone loss issues later on

While spiritually I don’t follow Pagan religion like I used to, I still use it as a template for some things. And one of those things is the time to change my toothbrush. The Pagan year I kind of recognise has 8 Sabats. So when each of those Sabats occurs I change my toothbrush and throw the old one away. Which means roughly every 6.5 Weeks I throw my old toothbrush away and change to a new one. That way I’m always using a toothbrush that is in good working order. I used to only change my toothbrush once every 3 months. But if people have to be completely honest when looking at the state of their toothbrush at 2 months, well…, it really doesn’t look that appealing or great anymore. So I think we should be changing our toothbrushes way more frequently than once every 3 months ( I know some people may say that’s expensive. And some of those people are the same people that always wants the newest and latest iPhone when they don’t really need it. So instead of always buying the latest phone on the market, when the phone you have is more than adequate enough, invest in your teeth instead. Your mouth and your body, in particular your heart, will thank you later)….. ⚛️☮️🌏

Shouldn't most of us use the technique Dr. Nameth recommends for people with thin gum tissue? Seems like the best way to prevent gum recession. If you don't have thick gums, why not just go with the technique that will do the best job at preserving your gums?

What is the best electric toothbrush for gum recession, the spin or sonic one ?
    Please help me

Get the sonic and be gentle. Don't push too hard only light pressure. Set it on soft mode. Don't get tricked by those marketing gimmicks 10x plaque removal on their high end diamond care model. They are too powerful. I got a cheap low end sonic and set it to soft mode for gentle vibrations. You don't need a hammer 🔨 to kill an ant 🐜. Also try crest gum restore which is designed to help gum recession. It doesn't work miracles but helps kill the bacteria under the gums to prevent more recession. Other thing also is stop eating foods with sugar and oils as bacteria loves to feast on that. It's hard to totally avoid it but just cut down on it.

I needed something like this, for someone who has noone to talk to about this kinda thing. And I feel bad/Awkward thinking about talking to my parents about how I can't keep up with hygiene (never even a thought I have because of my mental state) and how I never felt like I ever really learned how to brush my teeth properly. WHEN I would brush (still not even consistently) I always just brushed for too long and sometimes roughly and in motions that probably weren't right (It just feels awkward how I brushed when I did)...Need to know from a PROFESSIONAL. I seriously don't usually care and think about my teeth, never even really look at myself pay attention to myself. Can't DO Anything Consistently and the way life feels to me doesn't help with any motivation! 😢 I only am concerned because now I'm SEEING VISIBLE SIGNS OF GUMS RECEEDING. I noticed when I so happened to look in a mirror, it gave me a motivation to want to brush to Save My Mouth (Even though my mental state is severely changed)...I felt a worry for the first time about them getting worse and my self esteem is Already Low, don't want to HATE how I will look forever and not recognize my face 😱 So I'm glad that it's made the idea of brushing to me kinda natural again. A video like this really makes me feel confident about brushing now! I wish I would've had the thought that "maybe somewhere on TH-cam there's a tutorial that can break it down for me?..in a way I understand?"

Wish I knew sooner ( When I was younger) how to brush Accurately and Confidently. Don't think that it would've changed lacking motivation to NOW -The result would've been the same something caused a change in me and the depression, Everything would remain even if i brushed better when younger. But NOW, like I said I find a reason to CARE. I'm very grateful that (Since like I said I felt ashamed to ask and it didn't come normal to me And I don't have a dentist I can talk to either.) So I'm very grateful that I found this video that makes me feel Comfortable about it. I'm still scared of Lacking Consistency, what with outside problems surrounding me and mentality so bad. But watching this has taken a weight off my chest about my anxiety w/ how I brush🙏🏼 and the Worry I suddenly felt from the visible change in My Gums.

So you really are supposed to brush upward towards top gums and downward towards bottom like that, slowly and only in a scraping motion for little amount of time? Really?

It's funny to realize how when you were a kid you werent ACTUALLY TAUGHT brushing your teeth right...Like it's crazy to think how the thought about how you were with a toothbrush, didnt cross your mind at all because there was So much going on in your everyday life around you. I wasnt in the right headspace to know...Now I'm stil not in the right headspace to know, but also add Unhappy. Nothing changed.
