    Lot's of people don't know how to properly brush their teeth.
    There's more than one right way to do it! It depends on the type of gum tissue you have.
    If you thin gums or gum recession, you have to be extra careful when brushing your teeth. On the other hand if you have swollen or excess gum tissue, then you should brush your teeth more aggressively to bring down the swollen gums.
    For those of us with healthy gums, theres a different technique for brushing your teeth.
    You should change your toothbrush our every 3 months or so.
    Also, you should only brush your teeth twice a day for no more than two minutes each time you brush.

    Thank you!! You save every patient with gum recession.
    In the past, I have heard from lots of dentists talking abt the only right way to brush teeth like toward teeth and tissue 45 degree and scrubbing teeth rounded
    However, I have kept doubting so called "only right way". This is because it may adversely affect the tissue and get them even worse for ppl with gum recession. What I heard is that case as I thought for ppl with gum recession.
    Wanna ask Dr. Joseph Nemeth that what kind of manual toothbrush would you like to recommend for ppl with gum recession?

    While spiritually I don’t follow Pagan religion like I used to, I still use it as a template for some things. And one of those things is the time to change my toothbrush. The Pagan year I kind of recognise has 8 Sabats. So when each of those Sabats occurs I change my toothbrush and throw the old one away. Which means roughly every 6.5 Weeks I throw my old toothbrush away and change to a new one. That way I’m always using a toothbrush that is in good working order. I used to only change my toothbrush once every 3 months. But if people have to be completely honest when looking at the state of their toothbrush at 2 months, well…, it really doesn’t look that appealing or great anymore. So I think we should be changing our toothbrushes way more frequently than once every 3 months ( I know some people may say that’s expensive. And some of those people are the same people that always wants the newest and latest iPhone when they don’t really need it. So instead of always buying the latest phone on the market, when the phone you have is more than adequate enough, invest in your teeth instead. Your mouth and your body, in particular your heart, will thank you later)….. ⚛️☮️🌏

    I needed something like this, for someone who has noone to talk to about this kinda thing. And I feel bad/Awkward thinking about talking to my parents about how I can't keep up with hygiene (never even a thought I have because of my mental state) and how I never felt like I ever really learned how to brush my teeth properly. WHEN I would brush (still not even consistently) I always just brushed for too long and sometimes roughly and in motions that probably weren't right (It just feels awkward how I brushed when I did)...Need to know from a PROFESSIONAL. I seriously don't usually care and think about my teeth, never even really look at myself pay attention to myself. Can't DO Anything Consistently and the way life feels to me doesn't help with any motivation! 😢 I only am concerned because now I'm SEEING VISIBLE SIGNS OF GUMS RECEEDING. I noticed when I so happened to look in a mirror, it gave me a motivation to want to brush to Save My Mouth (Even though my mental state is severely changed)...I felt a worry for the first time about them getting worse and my self esteem is Already Low, don't want to HATE how I will look forever and not recognize my face 😱 So I'm glad that it's made the idea of brushing to me kinda natural again. A video like this really makes me feel confident about brushing now! I wish I would've had the thought that "maybe somewhere on TH-cam there's a tutorial that can break it down for me?..in a way I understand?"

    • @Kbinger06
      @Kbinger06 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wish I knew sooner ( When I was younger) how to brush Accurately and Confidently. Don't think that it would've changed lacking motivation to NOW -The result would've been the same something caused a change in me and the depression, Everything would remain even if i brushed better when younger. But NOW, like I said I find a reason to CARE. I'm very grateful that (Since like I said I felt ashamed to ask and it didn't come normal to me And I don't have a dentist I can talk to either.) So I'm very grateful that I found this video that makes me feel Comfortable about it. I'm still scared of Lacking Consistency, what with outside problems surrounding me and mentality so bad. But watching this has taken a weight off my chest about my anxiety w/ how I brush🙏🏼 and the Worry I suddenly felt from the visible change in My Gums.

      Hopefully the doctor will answer you directly but in the meantime I wanted to share a little bit about what I learned through other people regarding your concern. If you have any type bone loss that can also affect the bones where your teeth are anchored in your jaws.
      Sometimes this is due to loss of calcium in the bones osteopenia osteoporosis. One of the things that really helps is making sure that your vitamin d levels are healthy that you're in taking a healthy amount of minerals and maybe your doctors can run some tests and see how your bones are. At the dental office you can have an x-ray of the mouth to see if you have any bone loss in your jaw that's affecting your teeth and that might be the reason why they feel loose to you.
      Hope this helps....
      Wishing you the best ! 🙏

      Hi,This is called gingival recession,it can be due to infections like periodontitis ,that means the attachment apparatus between teeth and gum is getting bad and that’s why gums leave your tooth and pull up ,hard tooth brushing,or poor oral hygiene. It can not be reversed on its own . However dentist can do surgeries to bring it back using grafting techniques if it is too much. Also depending on amount of gum tissue ur brushing technique shud be changed as if gums keep on receding you may have sensitivity or bone loss issues later on

    Is deep cleaning a scam for pocket size only at molars up to 6mm? Can this be fixed without deep cleaning if you use a water floss/water pik and brush twice ?

      These tools can help prevent further progression of the disease, but according to kriss ai, they cannot replace the need for deep cleaning in cases of established periodontal disease. 😔

    interesting. ive never really thought about more or less gums. as a kid i have always used whatever toothbrush i was given but lately (like the past 7 to 10 years) my stance has changed and ive preferred a firm brush which i cant find any more. i like thinking it allows me to clean my teeth better by bristling off more new and old tooth plaque but what may actually work more is what types of food i choose to bite into and perhaps oil pulling and all that jazz

    • @NovaDoll

      @maltflesh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NovaDoll see thats where i was thinking it did a better job, esp. since i brush in all directions and check and recheck. nextly i dont really see how a bristle wears your teeth down. thats what your tooth paste is for 😉. but...everything is more understandable on a micro level. thanks for your input ill keep it in mind.

    Does it really clean? You tell that who have gum recession shouldn't brush their teeth rotating. But does vertical brushing enough for them?

    • @e_i_e_i_bro
      @e_i_e_i_bro ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Teeth can handle circular motion, you just want to be gentle with the gums. The vertical brushing squeezes the gunk out of the gums too.

      My dentist said it won't make any difference to rinse or not and adult teeth do not absorb flouride well so it won't get in there any better any longer it stays on. This dentist in the video says he doesn't use toothpaste at all BTW.

    Shouldn't most of us use the technique Dr. Nameth recommends for people with thin gum tissue? Seems like the best way to prevent gum recession. If you don't have thick gums, why not just go with the technique that will do the best job at preserving your gums?

I wasnt in the right headspace to know...Now I'm stil not in the right headspace to know, but also add Unhappy. Nothing changed.

    My family has bad teeth. Almost everyone by 35 has dentures. Brushing didn't come wide spread untill the 2000s. My teeth are healthier when I brush with prevident for 3-4 mins. 2 isn't nearly enough. Noticable difference in dental health. I've tested this multiple times over the years. Anyone having issues try to brush longer but lighter pressure. The benefits will soak into ur teeth during the longer time
