Hi guys- it's been a minute! Spring flying kicked my butt. The job in the airline industry is exhausting at the moment. I've been working a lot but managed to edit this quick video of my commute from Okinawa, Japan to Atlanta, Georgia as I head back to flying. I transferred to ATL for the month of April so I'll get to see what my flight attendant schedule looks like being based there. The airlines are currently hiring, and the industry in general is in dire need of more people! So if you think this crazy exhausting yet rewarding life is for you- please apply!
Enjoy the inside look of being an international commuter!

I loved Okinawa. I was stationed at Camp Foster August 1974 to September 1975. Would love to return.

Oh my God.. that is crazy.. I've been doing this since 1988 and never have I heard of a commute like this.. I hope u're only thinking of doing this for a few years.. your body will not be able to handle this crazy commute.. plus now that Japan has opened up.. my HND or NRT trips that I do is completely full.. good luck n stay healthy

Wow, if your commute was here in the states, like two different state's on the east coast or two different state's on the west coast, or even a middle of the country state to either coast, but this commuting in on these eight and ten hour jet lagging flights from another country with that just being only the beginning of a stretch of reserve or of an actual trip is mind boggling. Then to have that same long commute home at the end is just unreal. I wish you all the luck dear heart, but this certainly doesn't seem sustainable for the long run. The one positive does seem to be the lovely crash pad. Much nicer amenities then most. I may have missed it, but did you mention if is a hot bed or cold bed situation? It'd be especially nice if it's a cold bed, and you could feel more secure about leaving a nice stach of layover items. Even something as particle as a wireless headset, so you can listen to streaming services to unwind, while not distributing others. Also, seeing if there is a nice fitness center in the neighbourhood to get a workout in, while still being close by for reserve call outs. If you truly have to be that quiet at the crashpad, you could get a shower at ths gym after your workout to minimize stress on yourself of not being too noisy, and then do your makeup and hair at one those delightful stations back at the crash pad. Hopefully, over time, you'll meet and make acquaintances, or even form frienships with other airline staff. As a travel nurse, we have some similarities in travel issues. The one guarantee we do fortunately have is never having to share accommodations with other travelers. I do wish you all the best with your flight attendant career. Congratulations, too, to you and your new husband. You're an absolutely stunning couple. May God bless you with many, many wonderful years together. 💞🙏🎊🎉

thank you for the kind words! i ended up transferring bases to get a better schedule so the commute isn't as bad. i just back up all my flying so I don't go back and forth to japan more than once a month luckily!

Great video. I miss the life. However, I don’t miss the hustle. The roller board gives me anxiety!!
