This poem truly captures the indecisiveness of our generation, and how society and the media have conditioned us through scaremongering into not taking risks to achieve our goals. The use of free verse and no set rhyme scheme reflects this generations fickle mind set, and how we never wish to focus our attention on achieving greatness, as there's always something distracting us. The use of parallelism at the end of the each stanza could reflect us constantly being told we are never going to achieve in life as an astronaut, a doctor or a car racer. This subsequently puts us off from focusing on our true passions, and instead bends us into a dull and meaningless life of office jobs and conformity.

I got ten dollars for something like that once
In all honesty, if Alex wrote a book of poems or any sort of book, I'd read the shit out of it.
Why is Alex's voice so soothing
Ruben you need to understand what a poem is. There are two types of poems, a lyric and a narrative. Narrative ones are based around a story while Lyrics are based around expression. Both of them are able to have rhymes but neither of them MUST have rhymes. The rhyming element is like a musical. Not all movies are musicals.

I think I had a poem published in a book like that when I was in school (pretty sure it was primary school though so I was younger than 13) From what I can remember it was about some kid finding a horrible looking monster and describing it to his mum, then in the last line it turns out he was just looking in a mirror. When I was a kid I guess I thought that was really deep or something

I’m sitting here with only one eye,
glaring at the screen, at the comments flying by.
The cursing, maniacal, manipulative cancer,
of an angry, ironic, idiotic commenter.
As they growl at the crowd with their imaginary sharp teeth,
making their way to the top from beneath.
The darkness and sickness they spread those
who fear toxic advertisements and spam overdoes.
What do I do? I want to (fucking) kill myself.
Slit my throat or drown in that bleach on the shelf?
Jump from a building, a bridge or in front of a train?
But alas, my death will be painful, and might be in vain!
Silent in the dark, on my bed I lay,
thinking about what I was actually trying to say.
See what it does to you? This obsession to comment,
to harass, to poison, to judge and to troment.
It messes with your mind, deep into your brain,
bringing mental illnesses that might make you insane!
Now I can only stay here and shake my own head,
what use will it even be if I were dead.
But one thing I know truly for sure,
The one thing, the absolute purest matter as a cure.
That I will indeed feel much much better,
if I took a look around me, away from this monstrosity on my computer.
