Yo guy. I am stuck on this with my trailhawk. I cant get the lower control arm to go lower and I dont have a ball joint separator. Ive tried a pry bar but no luck.
ive successfully seperated my ball joint with ball joint seperator and still ruptured my ball joint boot... i got stuck now where u were stuck i cant lower the control arm low enough to release the ball joint... im assuming my pry bar is not long enough to give me the leverage to do this like in the video... anybody else stuck here?
The answer is yes, the CV axles are matching left and right on the Trailhawk, but they are different than other models, and different from what is shown here. They have thicker reinforcement closer to the transaxle area. As someone who just did the job, I ended up destroying the boot of the lower ball joint. Note that these ball joints are a royal pain to install. Requires either a special tool or a very strong air hammer.
Nice to see a professional -- straight to the point repair video.
I gotta do this job soon on my gfs Jeep.. seems straightforward
When you say transaxle, does that also mean transmission in this case?
Can this be done without a ball joint tool?

Are the cv shafts different from the trailhawk models
