    Peaceful protests have been happening for 40 years and the media called it un american or didn't pay attention to it, I might still support peaceful protests but you gotta understand why they're so scared and angry

      Continue protesting.. Why do you protest? For your own selfish motive to feel you have done something and have a goodnight sleep? No!! It's to get attention and you will get attention but with the violence, its only gonna be negative one.. Belive me for a tibetan refugee who has been caught, beaten and warned they will make me disappear if we didn't stop.. It's tough but we need to power on.. India won its freedom not from violence but an old man with a stick who refused to wear western cloth. So it's been successful before there is proof in history.. You just need be patient and wise

      You're wrong. There absolutely HAS been progress, and my life and the lives of others like me are a testament to that. It's not all going to happen at once, but emotional people want instant gratification. Burn down your home, your schools, your grocery stores, your whole community - makes a lot of fucking sense!

    We had over 40 years of MLK and the result was a cop’s knee to a black man’s neck and his eventual murder.
    The result was: Philando, Sandra, Oscar, Treyvon, Eric, Micheal, Terrence, Samuel, Freddie, Tamir, Walter, Alton, Jamar, Jeremy, Eric, Akai, and that’s not even scratching the surface.
    We’re having a Minister Malcolm “powder keg” moment right now.

      Martin and Malcolm laid the foundation for us to continue on. It was set up for us. They both passed the baton to the next generation. That’s the job of the older generation is to make way for us then it’ll be our turn to set things up for those we will one day leave behind. It’s not about what will work. It’s about putting things in place for us to come along to finish the work. Martin and Malcolm created the door that we now get a chance to walk through. They passed it on for us to do it our way.

    • @Dennis-nc3vw
      @Dennis-nc3vw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What are you talking about? A riot has followed just about every black man killed by the cops. The only difference here is the scope and scale. MAYBE the solution isn't to make your methods more drastic, but more appropriate? How the fuck is it 3 random officers in Baton Rogue and 5 random officers in Dallas are dead, but the cops who killed all those people you mentioned are still alive. Justice is the marriage of actions to consequences, a system where people who COMMIT THE CRIME suffer, not random innocents. No one is more against the idea of justice than these protestors.

    • @MrHandss
      @MrHandss 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      well considering that not all of those names were people killed by cops or were, but weren't innocent victims, i'd say i doubt you're scratching the surface, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to come up with enough of a reason.

      @@mhopps12 put it this way - until a few years ago in Washington State the requirement for convicting any police officer of homicide was that the prosecutor had to _prove_ to the jury, that he acted with _malice_ which requires proving what someone was thinking so unless they said "I'm going to kill that guy" and did it, he'd have gotten off. And on top of that, the prosecutor has to have a close working relationship with the police, so how motivated are they going to be to push that?

    “Riots are the language of the unheard.” I keep seeing this quote people are posting by MLK. Which makes a valid point. He understood why riots occur. BUT he’s not saying it’s okay, he’s simply coming from a place of understanding. MLK always stood for peace. Many people do not understand his message, it goes right over their heads. All this violence and chaos will continue to happen time and time again, over and over, until humanity learns it’s lesson, peace and love is the way. Violence is NOT the answer. All it does is continue the cycle of hurt and abuse. Break the cycle.
    “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” MLK. He spoke the truth! People simply do not understand... you cannot fight fire with fire and expect the fire to go out. It will just continue to burn.

      Without the rioting MLK’s “peaceful message” wouldn’t work, the government knew they better listen to the diplomats and “fix” the problems before it impacted them personally. MLK was eventually killed so where’s the peace in that? You always expect black people ( the victim) to be the bigger person and forgive the violence they’re experiencing but not all people will surrender to violence without fighting for their lives. White people showed they can’t give any freedom and respect to black people unless they’re forced by laws or violence. It took a war to end slavery, en entire movement that led to death to end segregation and yet still the government never changed. It’s still oppressing black people and asking them to understand. Why don’t you stop killing and discriminating against black people. We can either live peacefully together as brothers and sisters or die as enemies.

      This is definitely not a nightmare. Things can obviously get much better, but for African Americans this is the best TIME and place in the history of the world (with the possible exception of Mali under Mansa Musa). The future will belong to Asia, any clue on how blacks are treated in Asia? Russia? Will black lives matter in a world dominated by the Han Chinese? Get real!!! Things CAN and will likely get worse. Instead of burning your own homes and businesses now is the time to VOTE, build businesses, gain influence. Sure it's hard...as it was for all peoples who have been subjugated, but no one is coming to save you. You have to figure this out yourself. Here's a hint EDUCATION.....Burning your own city to the ground wont get you the respect you're looking for....Running the police department, the city, state, banks and businesses will.

    As a Black man l have been terribly mistreated and cheated. It happened in Pocatello, ldaho where l worked hard and had the respect of many Whites and the few Blacks that were there. I helped Whites who needed help. I was told l made significant improvements in the workforce. But 2 White men, for whom l did favors wretchedly turned on me over a minor disagreement and l lost my career. They felt it necessary to go to unwarranted extremes, and they publicly humiliated me. No Whites came to my aid.
    Something similar happened to me in Howard County, Maryland. Both times I went through the proper channels to remonstrate, but l still lost. My point is, non-violent protests have been demonstrated, but it seems America does not hear. It's the squeaking wheel that gets the oil. Joshua peacefully marched around Jericho for 7 days; after that he and his army aggressively went in and took the city. Peaceful tactics don't always work on this planet.

When they see the number outside of their own home, face to face... they know they need to change. Politicians needed the visual image of human interaction and face to face. When they know, we no longer will stand for their bullcraps and if they don't, they will be replaced. Look at Mike Freeman, district attorney of Hennepin County in Minneapolis. There was a separate protesters, protesting outside his home with speakers and essays in tows. He knew he needed to act fast or those people will never leave his home. 4 days later, they charged Derek Chauvin. I know more justices needed to be serve because the other haven't been charged, but in the history of America, no police officer was ever charged that fast after a plain murder. I don't believe in tearing down my own community and setting it on fire. They are the foundation that create the community. If you're angry, take it to the politicians property.

      You also have no real knowledge of the circumstances that went on at the scene. All you know is what you can see inside a 2x3 screen on your phone so there has to be an investigation. Just as we can’t have mob riots-we can’t have mob courts that convict people on the public’s say so.
      I AM NOT DEFENDING THE KILLER! There is a lot of evidence that this was murder but there is also more involved that we can’t see and don’t understand. When the colonialists started a the violent boston tea party the british govt said they were wrong. same with the french revolution. sometimes you gotta kick ass to make change, because talk hasn't worked. just look at all the countries the US is at war with...how come the US govt doesnt follow Dr. King's teachings?

      @@damwilkir284 She brought up MLK. MLK was violently shot. All places protested except for the city RFK did a speech it.
      Of course, this is totally irrelevant.
      This b*tch went on national TV calling for people to stop taking action. CNN gave this coconut a voice while ignoring why people are so angry in the first place. Not only was a man suffocated, but it went on for nine minutes. The offender was not arrested until the prescient was set alight. The other present officers on duty have received no punishment. Clearly she does not fin it concerning that they think that this appropriate conduct.
      Then protesters turned up to CNN towers in Atlanta to make their voices heard but were attacked with tear has by the police. Nobody wants to address the big elephant in the room.
      Poor taste.

      I'm sorry but Mayor Bottoms is so out of touch. I hear the same rhetoric for the past 3 decades and NOTHING CHANGED. OTING DOESN"T SOLVE NOTHING.
      The best way to have change is to have blacks practice GROUP BLACK ECONOMICS.
      WATCH Dr. Claude Anderson about group economics on link below, HIS WORDS ARE POWERFUL and LOGICAL!!!
