    Carter was extremely weak as a president. Hell of a nice guy but useless as a president .

    I'd add that Carter popped the OPEC oil price bubble - making the "Reagan recovery" possible.
    He fought the good fight, and stood up for our best American values. Thank you, sir.

    Carter was neither weak nor useless. He was an intelligent, thoughtful man who used both his brain and his heart. Compared to the dog excretement walking into the White House on the 20th, this guy was Superman.
