I don't understand do people walk around thinking drinking is healthy or improving? Im basically a cog in a machine run by elites who control everything and my life is basically worthless besides to those around me. If it were between me and saving 10 million dollars the world would choose 10 millions and distribute it evenly. This is hell and im gonna have a drink til im gone. Tried to sober up and nothing improved, I just got very incomplacent but nothing to do with it. You can try and go invest in stuff good luck there's plenty of people already trying that and with a lot more resources than you. If you don't have savant talent or dumb luck you're basically screwed. I've been a wrestler and muy thai fighter, went to school for electrical, worked a variety of jobs but I can never be complacent with my situation. There is no true freedom. It's an illusion. The truly free are the ultra rich who can go to any country any time and stay anywhere they want and not be bothered. Those people are truly free. And they don't have to lift a finger. Ima drink til I'm gone from this hell hole

Because you're not on your side. That's the most common issue I came across. Even if I was your friend and gave you a step by step solution, you would try to prove me wrong with all your might to tell me "It's not that simple". Simplest way to explain this concept is: Imagine there are two teams fighting it out in your subconscious. One is the addiction, the other one is you - the healthy man, the one who's got power to make choices. And each time you say to someone "can't be done" you're literally fighting for the bad guys. And believe me inside of you there's a self-persuading mechanism and it takes a lot of fuel to keep that mental addiction going. It has to essentially fight off all the good tendencies in you. The key is to realize it, and withdraw all that energy from that side of you. Just cut off it's resources and starve it, by no longer fueling that part of you and put all that energy into believing an opposite. Fight for the other team, the people who try to tell you it's possible. Just be on your side, make it important, remind yourself every time the enemy wants you to buy a bottle and you will be victorious. And after you will you can carry that momentum and pride into other areas of your life.

I HAD a family full of smokers. Yep, had. My friend and her husband quit because of this book. I bought copies of his audio CD of the book as Christmas gifts for every smoker in my family and my husband's family about 10 years ago. I heard nothing for a long time. Then I found out everyone in my family, except my sister, had QUIT! My dad had tried everything, even traveling to do hypnosis in a neighboring state. My husband's family didn't sound like they read it/listened to it. His grandma was later put on oxygen from smoking before she died. Some of my family were even loaning it to others though. I'm not a smoker. I just wanted everyone to have their best lives and I'm glad I didn’t even care who I offended on Christmas. I feel so much gratitude to Allen Carr. ❤

This is how I stopped smoking!! I was smoking 2 packs of Marlboro Reds, and over a bottle of wine, I read the book and quit. She's right: at the end of the book, he writes "if you aren't already smoking, light a cigarette" and I couldn't! The thought of lighting one seemed so repulsive I couldn't do it. There were no side effects, no weight gain, not a single withdrawal.
    This book saved me.

An addict will not kick their addiction until they themself want to quit. They'll never quit because someone else wants them to. I started smoking at 14. 43 years later (2009) I decided to quit my pack and half a day habit. No gum, no patches, no pills, just me and my determination to kick the habit. Non smokers often become non skinny. So 2 years ago I started riding a bike 6 miles a day and watching what I ate. Lost 83 lbs that year. @71 I still ride that bike when the weather is nice.

I used the stop smoking book and went from about 20 a day to zero and have been smoke free for three years…
and I haven’t become one of those people who think they’re better than others who haven’t stopped…
And I regularly socialise with smokers who smoke in front of me and I have no cravings to smoke at all…
I’m actually not that big a reader so I got the audiobook and listened to it while cleaning the house

Literally read the book a week ago, I'm just as happy that I could drink while reading. Now I read more often while drinking.
