This is my second project using Davinci Fusion for visuals, learning it it very fun and frustrating.
This pace of 2 videos per year is likely to go on unless I do some smaller and more relaxed projects here and there.

The 99th chapter of Yuru Yuri is called "Nandeyanen". In this chapter, Kyouko asks Chitose if she often acts like a tsukkomi since she is from Kansai.
The chapter has a great pacing and nice jokes, such as one where Kyouko "channels Yui's spirit into Chitose" in order to teach her the "tsukkomi" move, and in turns, makes Yui learn "headbutt" which is promptly used against her.
So Chitose tries to do a proper tsukkomi, and manages to respond just like Yui usually does, which makes Yui rather self conscious.
The climax of the chapter is when Kyouko, who for some reason decided reverse roles with Ayano, scolds the latter and prepares to "administer punishment", as Chitose's mind goes into overdrive, her dreams are quickly shattered as Kyouko reveals said punishment was toilet cleaning. This causes Chitose to unleash her strongest tsukkomi out of frustration, a raw, powerful, and emotional "NANDEYANEN" which surprises all the other girls.
When Yuru Yuri 10th, the OVA celebrating the manga's 10 years of publication, was announced. I was overjoyed to learn that chapter 99 "Nandeyanen" was going to be adapted, my hype was at its peak.
Unfortunately, Yuru Yuri 10th turned out to be fairly disappointing:
While it was pretty good and flowed well, it made one crucial mistake, which was rushing through chapters.
While Douga Kobo's S1+2 were fairly high energy and mean spirited to match the manga's early chapters, and TYO's S3+Nachuyachumi was more relaxed, and focused on character dynamics over specific situations, both of these studiosmade the good call of adapting chapters **in their entirety**. This is particularly more important for chapters of the manga past Vol7-8: as Namori's humor changed, the pacing slowed down and chapters became about a buildup of different interactions, with jokes sprinkled in-between, and one final punchline, and THIS is where Lay-Duce messed up with Yuru Yuri 10th.
By not adapting full chapters, some of the jokes in-between feel out of place, for example, Yui's headbutts, instead of being a punchline to Kyouko's pokemon joke, end up literally coming out of nowhere, nothing in the OVA is here to justify "why a headbutt", the joke stops being a joke and ends up being just a weird burst of violence. However, the bigger issue about not adapting full chapters, is that the final punchline ends up being much less powerful.
When Chitose says "Nandeyanen" in the manga, she truly means it, pouring all of her soul in it, it's a rarely seen, adorable burst of emotion from her. The OVA completely ruined that and turned her "Nandeyanen" into a dry quip that gets immediately forgotten. The reason behind it is that Lay-Duce had to remove all of the buildup from the chapter to fit it in.
So this is my response, I decided to take this part because I wanted to give Chitose the "Nandeyanen" that she always deserved, the "Nandeyanen" that the OVA failed to give me. This part is a tribute to my favourite Yuru Yuri chapter, I hope you'll like it.
