  • Yes, an ACL tear and meniscus tear can heal naturally without surgery! Getting this diagnosis can be scary since 2 parts of the knee are involved. But rest assured that if you do the right things, it's possible to heal naturally without surgery.

I tore my meniscus 4 months ago. Only now am I seeing the start of real recovery. Your message of BE PATIENT is so important. No one around me (doc, etc) was as reassuring. I went through needless worry. Should be the first message one hears. Again, thank you!

I’ve torn both well not entirely on my meniscus and I want to avoid surgery and having metal in my knee if possible

When you say '' the start of real recovery '', what does it means? Like starting to walk normally again or more?

I’m now over a year and 6 months post injury and I can jump! Something I thought would be impossible. Physio, strength training and LOADS of patience… not 100% yet, but much much better 😊

VMO is a part of the quad muscle. You cannot activate VMO without activating the rest heads of the quad as they all share the nerve endings.

Ten years ago I was squatting like a catcher and all of a sudden, my knee felt hot and swollen. Next couple of weeks were the same.
Today, I squat like a catcher and after about a minute, when I stand up, the inside of my knee hurts and I can’t straighten it until walk it off. After 15 seconds of walking around I’m back to normal. No pain or anything while walking, running or cycling.
You think my ACL is damaged?
    Torn meniscus?
When I stand up I feel pain like something is pinched
