Recorded at the Dunmore Pineapple, Airth, on Wednesday 22nd September 2021, as part of the Piping 100 Challenge
Oft in the Stilly Night, Irish Air, used as Lights out in several Irish Regiments. I sometimes play this as a funeral lament
Killaloe, trad Irish 6/8 March, Royal Irish Rangers Regimental March - เพลง
Hi Neil your videos are so natural. Oft in the Stilly Night. Lights out for the Irish Guards. Killaloe Irish Rangers. They have a place in the tune where like the Black Bear a cheer goes up as the soldiers march along. Where the High A is drawn out near the end in Killaloe. Beautifully played. The Wimbledon Tennis prize trophy has a pineapple on it too. Deemed to show how rich the prize was and still is. Great video. Keep up the great work. Regards from, James A McGowan Cape Town South Africa.
These two songs are what we're having at my Grandads Funeral. Always makes me tear up ❤
Great spot for a tune. Well played
Glad to see comment by Keith Mitchell. Was stirred by the tune Killahoe, without knowing why..(No Irish connections). Obviously I'd heard it before somewhere!.
Well done, mate! Piping for my wife's birthday...😉
Happy Birthday!
Well done! Maybe you could train the dog to bark at the appropriate moment in Killaloe!
lol, maybe I could train him.........
2 grate tunes Neil play them a lot with our Band and played so beautiful by you as usual on lovley pipes
2 great tunes im very fond of. I've a lot of friends who are both serving and veteran Royal Irish soldiers and these are their signature tunes. Killaloe being the regiments regimental march. Always gives me goose pimples every time I hear it played. I've been trying to learn it myself
Sár mhaith.
