Finally got to see Fern Brady a couple of weeks back. She is a great talent. She is also autistic and uses stories of her past experience in her acts. She’s also written a book about her autistic journey which is comic/ tragic in equal measure and taught me more about autism than any textbook I’ve read.
Fern is one of the young comedians who's career has benefited from her time on Taskmaster . It's a great way of seeing people's genuine personalities over the weeks . I certainly enjoyed Fern and it's the first time I've seen her stand up so thanks for choosing her .
So glad you appreciated Fern, she is great in a very intelligent/weird way, and I love her voice/accent.
I'd love to see a Police procedural show with Fern Brady and Bridget Christie as Detectives (and it doesn't need to be a comedy).
I've had intrusive thoughts similar to what she talks about. I was really scared by them for many years thinking there was something seriously wrong with me thinking these horrible things even though I always strive to be a good person. It really helped me so much when I found out that it's a common thing, that many other people got them too and they are nothing to do with being the type of person who would actually do stuff like that. It was like a switch changed and I very rarely get them now.

I get intrusive thoughts like her and it's not fun! Obviously you're never close to acting on any of them, thankfully, it's more like your brain is thinking "isn't it interesting to think about X horrific thing!?".
There's an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where she can read people's thoughts temporarily, and it's always fun seeing them played for comedic effect on the show, but I just think "if someone could randomly hear my thoughts and they caught me at the wrong time they would lock me up and throw away the key!"
Her new special on Netflix is extremely funny.

I also have occasional intrusive thoughts about acts of violent destruction, but only:
1. In the glass/ceramic floors of department stores, and
2. To people who are really asking for it.
Well, Dutc women average height is 5 ft. 6 in. Average means all age groups. The lead singer of Nightwish is 6' 3" - and her overall physics is "lift Nick to stand and leave", LOL

I wondered why I've never heard of her. She's a shock or counterculture comedian. It's like the shouty or insulting comedian, they're just looking for a reaction.

I'm sorry but I don't find her funny at all. She does observational comedy but without the comedy. It's more a lecture on her day to day than a stand up routine.

Sorry, I’ve never heard of Fern & didn’t find her at all funny in this video. Perhaps that’s a reason why I’m not aware of her.
