Great brand!! I am pretty much from Redditch, used to drive past the site of the old factory in the UK. There used to be a sign, not sure if its still there I moved away years ago.
My garage contains a 2018 HD FXLR and a 2020 RE Cont. Gt 650. Love the Lowrider, but the little Enfield is getting all the local miles. Such a fun little bike. Easygoing and smooth to operate. No yeet factor, but plenty adequate power and torque for normal riding. Simple and uncomplicated. Should definitely be on the modern classic beginner giveaway list.
I rode my royal enfield classic 500 from Perth Australia to Tasmania. 10000km round trip. Had a crank failure half way across the nullabor. Still got me home actually but it sounded like a drum and kind of died in my drive way. Out of the 16 bikes Iv ever owned the enfield is the best. Despite how slow it is.
As a RE fan and owner, I'd have to say that this was a well done video; you were accurate in what you said. Though I know the company story, I must say you concisely recounted their history.
You probably wont see this Yammie, but I passed my motorcycle exam and got my Class M and bike today, and I just wanted to say thanks for everything you do. It really helped me gain the confidence to finally make the decision. (Also forgive me i didnt get a turbo busa sorry dad)
American owner with a 2014 Continental GT 535. LOVE the bike and wouldn't think of getting rid of it. Not the fastest, but VERY FUN. The frame was designed by Harris Performance, the legendary company from England. Extremely easy to work on since it's a single cyl air cooled engine. The UCE engines have hydraulic lifters so no need to mess with valves, etc. It's also one of the most beautiful production bikes I've ever seen. Thanks for doing an RE video!
As an Indian who comes across Royal Enfield everyday, I can tell you for sure it's neither made like a gun, nor goes like a bullet. The ktm 200's and 390's are far more powerful than 500cc royal Enfield's. Also they're not at all reliable machines! If you think ktm is unreliable, royal Enfield's are 100 times worse
My dad had 1986 Bullet, but had to sell it back in like 01-02, i was a kid back then. But now few months ago he got himself a Royal Enfield Classic 350. He adores it. And now RE got the Interceptor 650 in their portfolio, im really keen to buy one for myself, such an amazing motorcycle that is.
Nice history of some classic machines. One of my neighbors has one with a single cylinder diesel engine (Japanese engine), not real fast but incredible mileage. Always wanted a 500 single.
they make good trustable bikes, easily repairable. good for long rides and easy to maintain. they are highly modifiable as well. i myself ride a cruiser from them called Thunderbird 500cc. but the vibrations on these bikes will leave you with tremors even after getting off them. the new 650 twins are vibrationless though.
@Warren552011 Awesome, those are very do-able mods for most riders though, so probably a good representation of improvements which don't require a heap of work to the engine! I know having had the Continental GT 650 recently, a few people mentioned they prefer the older single version for style and looks!
Hey Yam, you left out the continental GT 535, the 1968 interceptor, the Himalayan 400 , the 650 twins 2018 , the thunder bird 350&500... And great content always makes my day a bit easier to deal with lots of love from India...
My triumph needed a friend in the garage. So an Enfield gt650 joined the collection last month and it has been a blast. Not whicked fast but so easy to ride and handles like a boss. Pleased to be in the built like a gun club
Nice! I was one (if not the only one?) who requested this. Entertaining content as usual. Little surprised you didn't mention the company's new direction with their acquisition of the British design firm and the subsequent return to the parrellel twin cylinder market with the Continental GT650 and the new Interceptor INT650.
Thanks for at least mentioning the RE Meteor and RE Constalation 736cc bikes I have 2 of the 736cc Interceptor versions and Paul has a 550 cc Scout twin RE. Considered "old school" now but still faster than a HD Sportster 883 and wonderful on the winding canyon roads. Probably not for todays riders because you have to know how to actually start a motorcycle to get out of your driveway. Forget about the neutral finder and that ,007 clutch lift will heat up and drag you through a stoplight.
This bike is like wine🍷, older it is, finer it is. But with modernization, parts are not turning out to be better. Brakes and suspensions are the weakest point in this bike, rest we can take care of....
The FLEAs were dropped with static line parachuting techniques. Essentially the parachute has a long line connected to the air craft. the jumpmaster would push it out the door/off the ramp and the fact that it is falling free pulls the parachute out... And then some one chases it out and hopes they land somewhere near it....
I thought I was the only Indian who watch this channel. It is shocking to see other Indian names here. And I never expected that the Royal Enfield was so innovative and modern in their time of history and were even considered fast and even fastest. The history of their twin cylinder bikes, specially v-twin and twin cylinder engines below 500cc shocked me the most. What a heritage. What a history lesson. Thanks yammie noob for expanding my view.
I once witnessed an accident where a car lost control and stopped int he middle of the highway and the guy behind riding his Bullet 350 smashed into the car. Car's rear bumper and trunk area was heavily damaged but Bullet350 only had a minor scratch. When they say its made like a gun then it actually is made like a gun.
I was surprised when I saw the title of the video cause it was your channel, I did not expect you to cover RE. I own a Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4, its a neat bike
I'd love to travel to India someday. I don't think I've ever met an Indian person I didn't get along with, and the fact that they have a great riding culture is also awesome.
Very nice and informative video. It's been 2 months since I bought my brand new Bullet 350 (and yes I'm from India). It's a very simple bike with only the essentials. No extra electronics, although it's now EFI and has single channel ABS. But it keeps the original bullet's charm in this time. I love my bike but can't go for rides because of Corona virus.

I have an RE bullet 350, this motorcycle maybe slow but it is reliable as hell, 45 kilometres to a litre and a great value for money as it will last really long
Thank you for the history lesson now I know more I tried to buy RE interceptor but in my province Canada they were way over price. I like to the new meteor coming out maybe I can acquire one of those if I can get it the right price.
Yes man i am from India and i am 20 years old. I have grown up watching royal enfield eveolve around me. Heck in the olden days owning a Royal Enfield was a symbol of royalty in India. The firm vibrations that come in the handlebars while riding lets the rider know that he's riding something substantial and does bother atleast me that much. Yes they are expensive, they are slow, but Royal Enfield is a part of Indian culture and India's biking culture.
When air dropping the motorcycles, my guess is that they used static lines. So they were already hooked up to the plane and the weight deployed the parachutechute.
