I was raised in a christian home, went to Bible College, and walked away because i just couldn't BE something that is not who I am, and I couldn't believe there was a God who only saves the Lucky few who have even heard of Jesus out of the gagillian people that have lived thru out all of time - all parts of the globe. I dismissed all of it. 30 years later- I had a NDE type experience just last year. It is through my new understanding of reality-and through Aaron, that I finally at age 53 have gotten to know the true Jesus. I will always have so much gratitude for this channel. I am so excited for this new series.

@@sisu4134 Same brother. I also had a NDE (overdose) and sought explanation from many sources with the church being one of them but nothing they taught resonated with my encounter with “God”. The only time i resonated with the church was when we read about Jesus and his teachings. The Love Jesus preached was the same ineffable, incomprehensible Love that gave me a second chance and flipped my life 180. I literally died (or at least i thought i did) and was reborn again. I was a completely different person dead to my old sins. From the moment i woke up in the hospital, all i wanted to do was to share with everyone the Love, even if only a fraction of it, that was shown to me. I knew everything was perfect and i couldn’t help but see God in everything. The answer i had been looking for my entire life was right in front of me the entire time. It was so obvious, right under my nose, that i couldn’t see it. God IS. Love IS. Love is the ultimate unifier. So just let go and trust. Everything is connected. We’re all one. We’re all each other. Everyone was me and i was everyone. You are Life and Life is you. The observer and the observed are one. All is one. We suffer because we sow division and we try to separate. Through this we literally create our own Hell and become the King of it. Every time they would read passages, i sensed a difference in the way i read it vs the way they read it and Aaron explained the difference perfectly. They read it as if Jesus was the egoic I and not the oneness universal I. The best way i could explain the state i was in that day is non-dual awareness (a new word i just recently learned). Since then I haven’t been able to feel that way again and I’ve forgotten the many insights I’ve learned but I remember how it felt vividly. Everyday something happens that causes me to remember something i learned that day. So it’s like each day i slowly remember. I was just given a glimpse, the map of the narrow path, and now i just have to walk it. I could go on for hours about all the things i learned. When you die you can’t resist anymore. The Truth/God/Love catches up to all of us eventually in the end. And when you can’t do anything but surrender to it, although it’s terrifying, it’s also surprisingly liberating at the same time. The Truth sets you free and in the Truth, it felt like I was tapped into the infinite and all of Life just made sense. Not in words though just feeling. The nihilistic scientist pre-death me would’ve never imagined that i would be writing about the things I’m writing about today. God wasn’t even in my dictionary back then.

Once, a Christian found a Zen master and asked if the master had ever read the Bible.
    "No." Said the master.
"Would you like to hear it?" Said the Christian.
    "Sure." Said the master.
The Christian began reading from the Sermon on the Mount. Halfway through the passage, the Zen master interrupted and said, "Whoever uttered these words is a truly enlightened being. This is the essence of everything we are trying to teach here in the Zen temple."
I loved this video Aaron! I've gained many insights from this one. I was raised Catholic but I only began to understand Jesus' teachings after studying Buddhism, Advaita, and Nonduality. Beautiful work! 🙏🏻❤

@@myfrequencies1912 Please don't take my word for any of this. My guidance and perspective is personal as I believe it should be. 'One' or 'oneness' is more simple to claim or declare but more difficult to explain and/or define. I have been in that quest for quite a while. I 'felt' it and believed in it more than 50 years ago. Along my physical and spiritual journey, I have received constant confirmations. If you can believe in a 'beginning' of your life or your consciousness, you might easily believe in something or someone who is responsible for that 'beginning'. One of my latest [confirmations] is explained in a specific video I saw almost 2 years ago. Check out, 'The True Message of Jesus - What Religion Doesn't Want You to Know'. You are not your body or your intellect or your earthly knowledge having a spiritual experience. You are an 'eternal spirit' having a very temporary physical experience.

This one Aaron...this one has special meaning to me...I can’t thank you enough...I turned to Christian fundamentalism when I was 18, I’m now 57...I spent years evangelizing and teaching the brutal damnation/salvation message... mostly to children, as the universe would have it, one of my three children was born severely handicapped, and to this day at 27 she does not speak and is still in diapers....my (so called faith) was tested in ways I hadn’t begun to imagine...as the reality of all of the worlds suffering along with the brutal teachings from my fundamental circles I eventually after decades caved in ....and admitted, down deep inside I did not believe that something as marvelous as the concept of an all powerful God could ever be so cruel....or indifferent to such suffering...I ended up leaving the church around five years ago and finally admitted to my wife and other two children I no longer could say I believed the scriptures...as a fundamentalist this was so difficult..nonetheless I could not keep lying to myself....I became determined to ignore all spiritual pursuits and focus on my family and friends...then one day my brother n law recommended the Power of Now!... wow! Did the light come back and in such a dramatic and wonderful way....then I found this channel...I truly can’t say thank you enough..you bring light into my darkness!

My mom is a christian fanatic who even still pushes her fanaticism unto me, my cousin is travelling to be a catholic priest, and the rest of my family suffers from extreme judgement. None of what they said ever made sense to me. It pushed me so far from Jesus that I couldn't even hear his name anymore. When I pursued my own spiritual path and began understanding the law of one, a decade ago, that I was able to recognize my own deep connection to Jesus and find the deeper meaning of my life's journey to discover this exact understanding. Here is what I learned:
Christianity, if studied in terms of an adult relationship is abusive. You are taught from birth that there is something wrong with you, you will always be sinful by nature, your only chance at becoming better is through Jesus but you will never be equal, if you make a mistake you will be punished forever unless god decides to save you. This is an abusive relationship by definition - it is SPIRITUAL ABUSE.

I am gay, I grew up Catholic, I transcended christianity, and like Aaron have returned to perceive it in a different way. The way of Jesus was the path through our heart to God within. He spoke in poetry and parables to help those he spoke to go within. Only there we find God. And see that there is no separation between ourselves and God. The phrase "I am" expresses that so beautifully and simply. Much love to all.

Like you I came up through the church and realized they told me lies. When I realized I couldn't progress spiritually through christianity because it was about conformatity over spiritually I reached out. Jesus Christ said ye are God's, the kingdom of God is in you. This realization changed my perception. God is in us not In the sky. Ministers never talk about that because they don't want to answer challenging questions from the flock. You are young and get it. I got this truth later in life after much pain. Thank you for this video, fearful Christian's need to hear the truth no religious dogma. Though all the painful drama I still consider my self a christian. Jesus Christ is still my Lord no matter what. 😇😇✝️✝️🌞👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️🤗💖💯

True Christianity focuses on the Truth that "God became man so that man could become God." Humility, moderation, service, fraternity, and nonconfrontation are the original teachings of the Christ. All else is corruption.

@ Joanne ,.. Did you happen to mention in your thesis that Jesus DID in fact say that he came here to cleanse us of our sins ? The man who made this video clearly lies about Jesus never stating that He did.
      For example :
      Matthew 26: 28
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
There are many other places in the bible that are very clearly stated that this IS in fact what Jesus was here for, including other places Jesus Himself said it, and places where His disciples said it, and still other places in the Old Testament that prophetically states it.
So again, did your thesis happen to mention any of this ? Curious.

@@audiofeinz5754 You are right, which is why a true Christian goes above and beyond traditions and religious dogma. There cannot be a broad stroke for any religion because even in mystical environments, there are people who don't really "get" to the spiritual plane. Everything is a religion until the person becomes one with their creator, and becoming one with our creator does not come from one specific religion. But there IS only one way out of the timeline loop, which is through the cross of Jesus Christ. God Bless you.

I was raised in the Mormon church and could never fit in, I was stuck in this false ideology of being less than, comparing myself to a perfect Christ and felt this disconnection with what I thought was an external source. I searched and searched for decades for the answer.
It was after almost 40years returning to the same church when I realised that the answer was steering at me every morning and every night when brushing my teeth. I am the answer, It is an INTERNAL source, we were made in our creators image, therefore we are one and the same, faith in YOURSELF is faith in the creator, I hold all the keys, all the answers, I CHOOSE to keep them from MYSELF.
Acceptance, forgiveness, compassion, gratitude and unconditional love for the self. “One love ❤️ “
The only connection I lost was with MYSELF.
I have never returned since to church to be with God, now only living each day as a new, in an eternal everlasting now.

THIS IS AMAZING. THANK YOU. I can only hope that all those still kept small and fearful under the invisible shackles of religion will come to know Jesus as he really was - an enlightened being who wished for us all to elevate to that level of unity consciousness. I can only hope that those who are still falsely claiming Jesus as "their own" in the exclusivity of the church - an egoic pill of comfort - will understand soon that ALL of us are sovereign beings and are already connected to oneness, as you said. I say it often to as many as I can: Jesus is not the problem at all, RELIGION is. Thank you for your absolutely excellent eloquence here, as this topic is extremely difficult to express accurately due to the thousands of years of loss of translation of the meaning of Jesus's word.

I'm going to love this series...my absolute favourite channel. Loved it. I loved moving backwards for the reason that you can see the devotion you have to the 'real' jesus... eventhough I do have a few more decisions yo make on that bit of history, as I'm being a wannabe scholar right now, but the mystical jesus (and john btw) lights me up!

Thanks for sharing your understanding, that came to me by way of Peter Anastasia who is a North American teacher residing now in Belgium. I am surprised that there are contemporary Christians who have this understanding, though after listening to you it is no longer so surprising. I was a monk, actually a Trinitarian Friar studying in Baltimore, Maryland, and Salamanca, Spain for the Roman Catholic Priesthood, 1973-1977. Was very attracted to the personal narratives of Meister Eckhardt, Sister Teresa of Avila, Shunryu Suzuki, and many others who's teachings parallel Advaita Vedanta. The turning point in my understanding came early in 1988 when a former co-worker introduced me to Nisargadatta Maharaj's "I Am That." My agenda when first reading "I Am That" was to disprove its teaching. Fortunately I realized, it disproved me. In 1992 I encountered Ramamurti S. Mishra MD aka Shri Brahmanananda Sarasvati, who took me on as a disciple. No Biggie, I was a light maintenenance sishya (disciple). Eventually I went on to complete my BA at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA in Dec 2010. I was 63 yrs old back then. Subsequently I went on to complete the MA in East-West Psychology with 3 years Sanskrit studies in May 2014, at 67 years. Now I am 73, it's 2020, and the scene on the planet is very tenuous. My sadhana, spiritual discipline of performing the vedic fire ceremony at Sarasvati Mandiram at Brahmananda Ashram, the Yoga Society of San Francisco, for over 20 years gradually opened up this teaching you profess to me. I characterize its affect as a reification (making real) of the notion of kaivalya (freedom) found in the yoga sutras, which is comparable to shunyata (the void) in zen parlance. These are just concepts and words of course, but having experienced them and embodied (thus reified) them leaves me speechless. I sit here, attentive to the Universe awaiting my marching orders with nowhere to go and nothing to do! Becoming quiet is best!

As a young adult I was "saved" into christianity but there were so many things that didn't feel right in my heart so I often kept my religious beliefs to myself. Over the past 12 years or so I've felt the presence of God in my life but only when I went within, not when I reached out. I've since learned my overwhelming at times emotions are a result of being empathic. Over the past few months over started to get these downloads that I AM is really about God energy being internal . This video confirms my understanding in a way that I can understand and explain.

Aaron, I was raised by a Jewish mother and never felt much of anything spiritual being immersed in Judaism. My father’s family were evangelical Christians and believed Jews were going to hell. I had a lot of emotional baggage about Jesus because I associated him with judgmental Christians. Recently, I have been developing a relationship with him through the Holy Spirit due to my ACIM studies. Your description of him as a “Jewish mystic” is just beautiful. Becoming a little more like him every day in how I treat my fellow man is my goal.

@James Gray I will attempt to answer your questions the best I know. Obviously these perspectives will be different from traditional Christian interpretations and may not be completely reconcilable due to a fundamental worldview divide. But here goes:
      1. The 'Jewish mystic' is rare - but accounted for. The best examples would be Miriam the Jewess, who is referenced in several Gnostic writings who was known for her mystical consciousness, as is the more famous Rabbi Baal Shem Tov. Jesus was not an adherent of orthodox Judaic religion, - though making use of its language - but criticized it heavily. The non-dual experience of consciousness is also not novel in Christian history among the mystics such as Meister Eckhart, St. Teresa of Ávila, William Law and Jakob Böhme. All these Christian mystics, especially Eckhart, spoke in non-dual language and experienced it.
      - The statements of Jesus that you cite make perfect sense in an ego-less framework, they are not affirmations of elevating himself as "superior" to others as a man by himself, it is not about elevating himself arrogantly above others but he is set apart by his superior realization of Divine Consciousness ("I Am"), he was so identified, not with the false egoic self (Jivā), but with the divine essence that the man Jesus transcended his individual ego to such a level that he was indeed completely identified with the Divine, and thus indeed a manifestation or incarnation of the God (John 1:1; 10:30). He can be considered an Āveśāvatāra - someone so identified with his true nature as one with the Divine that there is no distinction. Christ realized he was God on a higher level than most others and thus has the authority to make these self-affirmations that others don't. This is not the same as saying his illusory self is. The same is true with Krishna, as Avatār, - God incarnate. In Mahāyāna Buddhism, the historical Gautama Buddha, though a man, is considered an visible human incarnation of the divine Buddha-nature: Saṃbhogakāya, that in order to teach entered in to human nature according to the Lotus Sūtra. The Buddha was a man, fully unified with Buddha-Nature.
      - Matthew 10:37: When we consider Jesus as a Guru, a teacher who has realized the complete divine consciousness, he is an Achārya with superior spiritual knowledge and direct personal insight into his divinity. This makes him Lord (Bhagavān) and teacher. In traditional Vedic culture absolute loyalty and deference to a Guru was expected. When one wants to learn from a true and authentic Guru who has realized God-consciousness, it is like learning from God Himself thus this statement is justified.
      - John 12:32: Jesus says he will draw all men unto himself, he can say this because he is a divine-realized Avatāra ("incarnation") like Krishna, who says similar things in Bhagavad Gītā. Christ can make absolute statements of authority because he is - one of - the divine Incarnations. On the cross, he used his Yogic Siddhī (power) to take upon himself the 'sin' of false ego and suffering it causes. Certain Yogis and Buddhist monks have also shown this.
      - The Jewish man worships Jesus, not because of the human man, but because of the divine Christ-nature. He worships the divinity in Christ which is fully recognized by his followers and himself. Thomas does the same thing (John 10:28 ). The Buddha was called "Lord" and 'worshipped' by his monks as is Lord Krishna, who identifies all divinity with himself (Bhagavad Gītā 9:23) This is not idolatry for it is the same divinity within them all. This is not a contradiction for its the same Divine in all of them. As the Rig Vēda says: "The wise call upon God in many forms". 'God' is unable to be restricted to but one identity. This of course contradicts the strict exclusivism of Judaic monotheism, but so did Christ in many ways.
      - Matthew 7:21-23: There are many who do not recognize Jesus' true message of 'salvation' from false self-perception and egoic delusion. Much of institutionalized Christianity is actually "Church-ianity" more based on distortions by Paul and Greek philosophy than the more Eastern focus of Jesus himself. Not to mention there are many who claim his name and do selfish, compassionless or evil things. He has false advocates and warns about them. Institutional Christianity became a religious and intolerant dogma rather than a path of self-realization. As Alan Watts said, the Gospel became muddled by later followers.
This is just what I personally make of it, so do with these explanations what you will, hope it helped or clarified some things. Paramahansa Yogananda's "The Second Coming of Christ" commentaries on the Gospels are valuable resources as is the book "Inner Christianity" by Richard Smoley. Fundamental is also the distinction between Dharma and Abrahamism.

I am glad our collective consciousness is evolving enough to at least consider this perspective rather than grab torches and pitchforks. Bravo! 👏

At last , a real interpretation of Jesus . I was always sceptical of the current pro-political religious ‘mis-interpretation’ of the real Jesus , to favour conversion and control of the masses . Jesus as a god-mystic absolutely resonates with me and my Sikh understanding of god-centered teachings and behaviour
    Thank you

Thank you so much for doing this series. I have been struggling with reconciling what my Christian faith has tought me with what I have learned since my awakening. This helps so much!
