The Swannanoa river was only one of many “ corporates” of this devastation. It’s so wide spread and the main stream media just covers the Asheville and surrounding areas. The cane river the toe river the green the nolichucky the French broad and so many more done this same damage if not worse.
Incredible Tiny Homes, Newport, TN is building 50 Tiny Homes by Christmas in conjunction with Corporate Lowe's NC and their donated building supplies for Western NC. Tiny Homes are being built to NC code and will have 4 bunk beds, a small kitchen and bathroom and mush needed HEAT.
Thank you Steve and all the crew there at FOX Weather, you have truly stepped up and continue to step up and get there and show us what exactly is still going on down there in WNC. KUDOS To you all 👍❤️🙏
Thanks, Steve, for the update. I am a disabled senior living in Central NC, so it brought tears of joy to my eyes, seeing that River so low & calm now, comparatively speaking. It’s obvious a lot of good people have helped & I am grateful, although I am pretty housebound so count on honest News crews for feedback. Staying constant in prayer for all & sincerely appreciate your reports. GBU all. Goodnight :)
Loggers should go there and use those trees and people with sawmills the government could pay them and then in return use the lumber to rebuild or make money for the states,it would be a shame those big beautiful trees go to waste.
I'm curious about how they are accounting for the vehicles being dragged out of the river, there must be hundreds, maybe thousands. All with the Insurance companies or the Dept. of Motor Vehicles wanting to know their wherabouts?

Families in North Carolina 🇺🇸 continue to recover in the aftermath of hurricane Helene, with several nonprofit organizations stepping in to help communities still very much in need as Christmas approaches Fox Weather meteorologist Steve bender was in Asheville, North Carolina, on Sunday where he spoke with a homeowner who had minutes to escape the catastrophic flooding. 🙏 🛟
Someone asked where the military is now! From what I have read online, Army and National Guard troops began pulling out around Oct. 22 and a statement of thanks to the troops from Brig. Gen. Morrison, commander of Joint Task Force North Carolina, was posted on X on November 25. They are no longer here, but have returned to their duty stations. I wish someone would wake up and realize that this recovery is not the same as the recovery from a coastal hurricane strike. (I'm a beach person!) The disaster in Western North Carolina and the surrounding area, is probably 1000 times worse....or more!
They will remove the vehicles. It takes time and that lady host should not have said it will become part of the landscape. People lost everything and insurance companies are still making their rounds. That lady has no compassion.
Alice, I agree that reporters should think before speaking, and fortunately some do :) You are so right that many good people are working hard & this river has calmed to show their progress. I just smiled at her comment, thinking she must be late to the dance lol. Seriously though, I appreciate everyone that has shown up to help. That lady obviously just took a sneak peek to have something to say on air. Hopefully her moment of glory doesn’t backfire TOO hard on her at work. I think we are supposed to be merciful, even under pressure. :)
Recovery will take a LONG time…! HOWEVER…YOU “Mountain PEOPLE” WILL recover; & WILL rebuild in ways that suit you BETTER (than before), & more suitable. We…here in TX, have SLOWLY rebuilt; I lost my home; but, I’ve learned “LIFE goes on,”. Y’all can & WILL recover…!! 👍🏻👍🏻‼️‼️🥰
@@invincibel4007 The military has been helping, probably the most visible help from the govt weve seen and heard. 101st airborn is in Chimney rock. There were ospreys airlifting supplies near Black Mountain. Even blackhawks and the unmarked black helicopters were flying day in day out.
Resilient but still a ton of families sleeping in tents where their homes were. It’s snowing here now. They still need a to. Of help. Idk why they are just showing a tiny speck of the devastation & showing only the happier stories

Yeah, I live in Asheville. It's good to be optimistic, but just this town alone is probably going to lose 50% of the people who worked in the foodservice industry in the next 6 months
It because mountain people help each other. Fema didnt help 21 countries. People help their neighbors rebuild. I know this. Look at 60 minutes on Green Mountain. If they didn't go there and do a story. People there would still be without help. God bless the mountain people.
This speaks to the incredible amount of work required to recover from this storm.

Not just Asheville and Buncombe county. It's 25 counties !

Amish Tiny homes did the same but they were not allowed because they were not “built to code”

@ no I didn’t lison to his video I was just thinkin about all those beautiful trees and what they could do for those communities
@@georgeschilens8557 You know, I'll bet those trees are no more "Toxic" than your everyday treated lumber. It makes it all the more sad.
Sorry, you missed that part! Yes, he did say that all of the trees and stuff are TOXIC!
Thank you for uploading these videos for all to see Fox. Now pick a different county each day. Thanks again
Where is FEMA??
They left after laundering millions. $,$$$,$$$
80 days. I can't even hear anything else they said. 80 days? It feels like one long day. No wonder I'm so tired 😯 😟😔😓😢
At least someone is still covering this

all Ive got to say is those
drones sure would be a great big help to clear the debris
from N.C right now.

Where is the military? Those responsible for not sending them should be court martialed.

Why did the state end the national guard Nov17? There's years of work to do
Looks like they need a battalion of tow trucks to help clear the river of these vehicles
If you got a tow truck they probably need you out there
Sad seeing this happen to such good country folks especially during Holidays
Insurance is avoiding most assistance. Even people with hurricane riders.
They could even make mulch too
Inspirational
It looks like a creek not a river. In Pittsburgh it is a creek
