I live right in the middle of where this hurricane hit . Western North Carolina and Ive met a bunch of these men. They were tired but they kept pushing on..Thank you for your help,my heart goes out to you all..This was the biggest disaster any of us could have ever imagined but you guy's pulled most of us out of a very dark and scary time..Ill never forget you guys.
I hope you are managing to slowly but surely put your life back in order. ❤❤I too have lived through a natural disaster that destroyed most of our city and killed 100s, it is a nightmare, which you never ever forget. In these horrible events, true hero’s come to the forefront, they work their butts off in order to restore some sense of our to your lives again and they truly are hero’s. It restores your faith in human kind again doesn’t it. I’m so sorry that your community has been so severely impacted, but having seen our city wiped out and then seen it slowly restored, have faith that things will one day be normal again and you will be stronger and more tight knit as a community because of your shared experience. Onwards and upwards ❤
It was, is too awful to put into words. The devastation....I am very grateful for Duke and ALL of the linemen who came and worked like crazy to help clean and clear out the horrible wreckage. We were praying for you constantly and individually when we saw you working. From Texas to Quebec, amazing ❤❤❤❤
I'm from the West Coast. It floods there also. I was Iin one this bad. Lost everything. We didn't even have underwear. I have since moved to Georgia. MUST SAY: In the Southeast, when there is a flood, a hurricane or heavy tornado damage, you will see literally hundreds of power company trucks coming through to spread out to the affected areas. These trucks come from all of the neighboring states. The inter-state cooperation to get power restored is just amazing! The West Coast could learn a lot from them!
As a Florida native I can say we absolutely love our lineman and every year or every time we have a hurricane I should say they are everyone’s favorite people to see. The power man is a hero too, thank you guys for everything you do especially when you leave your families behind to go wait out a storm to help light everything back up afterwards. As we have seen with this storm, in this region, sometimes and for many electricity is the difference between life and death. I pray for many blessings upon the BRE family of people.
Our national electric grid is this country's greatest asset, next to the men and women who keep it running. The cooperation between utilities from all over the country after a disaster like this is amazing! Thank you to everyone in the industry!
They are NOT asking for money! These people are spiritual beings. I hope I have people like them if there were ever a disaster around me! Oh wait I did and they don't hold a candle to these men!
Superb testimony and video drone shots from above. Appreciated your telling us 900 poles down, 700 transformers and 600 personnel. Thank you for working so hard to repair from this attack on Western NC.
All our service people went and are still going through such dangerous conditions to serve its people through all the devastation helene brought .I thank each and everyone of you..stay safe ❤🙏🏻
Thank you for Everything each one of you have done, are continuing to do and the sacrifice of the loved ones at home who continue to keep a home running while you are out in the storms.
By the grace of God, go I. Folks this is biblical & we are part of it. God will get us through this. All of us! I’ve cried so many tears for all of you . We now know that we can’t count on anyone but us &God
This is an ongoing tragedy in so many ways!! Hard for me to fathom all of it!! Mass destruction of homes, businesses, schools and topography of the land by the raging rivers have widened n changed their course while wiping everything in its course, the worst being loss of many lives!! Some of those poor souls will never ever be located as they’re now buried in mud!! Families will forever mourn for loss of loved ones!!😢
You reminded me... my grandmother went to visit friends out on the eastern tip of Long Island. A big storm blew up and she needed to get home - 40 miles. The storm was in fact the Hurricane of 1937, which devastated so much of Long Island and New England. She set off, and soon the hurricane got so bad she was sure she wouldn't make it. But there was a small convoy of Long Island Power and Light trucks going her way, so she crawled along behind them, though she could barely see the road. They turned off about 5 miles from her home and honked. She got home safely, took a stiff drink, and went to bed for a whole day. She was always thankful for them. You guys are out in every kind of weather, doing heroic work. Thank you.
i have heard it said "dont drown, turn around!" what brave men and women you are. i am traumatized still. i have never seen nor will i ever want see again this kind of destruction by water. looked to me like sorta a tsunami from every water container. breaking and killing and taking everything it came in contact with. my heart cries, God Bless all of you, God Bless the ones that lost everything. this hurricane was mean and unforgiving. thank you so much for everything you did. be careful out there, you are loved.
Thank you so much for posting this tragic video! We need to be reminded of this horror that all these poor people went thru, and are still going thru! May God forgive this country for all the ways they have failed these people 2 months later. But, yes, Thank you so much to All the Power people, linemen, and especially the BRMEMC, For their bravery, and doing All that they did to get things running for these people. As devastating as it is to see this film, again, and tho I am horrified for all those who went thru this terrifying ordeal. I say again, We NEED to be reminded how, blessed we are, for ALL those that LOST EVERYTHING, BESIDES THEIR, PROPERTY, HOMES, ELECTRIC, WATER, FOOD, AND ARE NOW LIVING IN TENTS, IN THE FREEZING COLD. BUT MANY LOST THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AND THEIR LIVES. . WHAT THIS STORM DID, IS JUST UNIMAGINABLE, AND MY HEART BREAKS FOR THESE FELLOW BROTHALLRS AND SISTERS. PLEASE CONTINUE TO KEEP THEM ALL IN YOUR PRAYERS. AND PRAY GOD GIVES THEM THE FORTITUDE TO STILL GET THRU ALL THEY HAVE TO GO THRU TO REBUILD! GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND, LOVING THOUGHTS, NOW LETS PRAY FOR THEM TO BE BLESSED! THANK YOU BLUE RIDGE ENERGY!
I'm glad that you were able to put some of the initial video and drone footage of of the devastation before anyone has been able to get to the area and start removing debris and cutting trees and such. Some of these pics speak where words couldn't for those that haven't seen the initial destructions first hand. For the naysayers and critics that were saying it wasn't that bad or calling videos fake, to have to eat their words or feel the shame if they have any, for the things they said about the absolutely dear and some of the most giving, loving ppl that lives in the Appalachian mountains of WNC and ETN. I've lived in NC my entire life, in the many times I've been to either places, I've always met some of the most welcoming folks I've ever been around. Too see the damage raw, untouched was gut wrenching and ppl need to realize the extent of the damage that is still being faced in these areas that were hit by Helene. How anyone can be so uncaring and even crass in regards to ppl losing everything they have worked for and some of which had been in their family for multiple generations. How the media could be so lack on their coverage of this horrific event or try to play it down ideas despicable and a true example of how some will sacrafice their ethics, morals, self respect for the love of $$. I have seen so much of that type of behaviors in the last 4 years to last a lifetime. It's time for ppl to be held accountable for the lack of empathy, concern, integrity, and respect I've seen shown to the normal citizens in this country and the entire world. I was not raised like that, having older parents was a blessing in that aspect, bc I was taught you help your neighbor and others, that money is nice, but it isn't everything, don't sacrafice your beliefs, morals, respect, etc for it. Anyway, we may have issues with the higher ups at Duke, Blue Ridge and the likes, but the linemen(boots on the ground that know what's happening) are the most giving and hard working ppl I've ever seen. They have a hard and dangerous job and the hours they spent day after day in muck and devastation that most couldn't imagine after disasters such as these in order to restore power to us, is very appreciated. I know doing that work, in those conditions is incredibly taxiing on you guys mentally and physically. Be careful and take care of yourselves out there, we thank you so much for all you guys are doing. ❤ Please keep putting the footage out of the initial aftermath that you were able to catch when you hit the ground. Ppl need to see what it looks like before any attempt has been made to clear roads of debris and power lines, etc. I'll be frank, I'd like to have put quite a few at ground zero immediately that were being so hateful and nasty about the areas affected. Unless they have lived thru something on that level and that devasting, they should just keep their mouths shut, so they don't remove any doubt to how ignorant and unfeeling they are and it shows their lack of compassion to someone that just lost their homes, cars, and in so many cases their families, pets, livestock etc etc etc in ways none of us would ever want to think about, much less experience it first hand. Some truly need a reality check and have to deal with the same and see how it feels. I wouldn't wish they on anyone, but at times ppl have to feel in order to see. Thank you again for all the work you linemen have done and are doing.💞🫶🙌👷♂️🙏🏼🏅🏆🌟💖
I heard on my local news that the Canadian government shipped 300+ linesmen to Florida and other States to help HELENE was devastating and changed the landscape dramatically! Do u know Abba said the weapons they have we will use for firewood. So not to cut any trees. I have asked for these men and women to get pay and for tiny homes to be sent to those that aren't able yet to get back inside there homes. I spoke with Public about you small business getting money refunded for your helping US. Also your business and homes daily living so damaged how we can set up temporary service for you. To get daily living ASAP. No one but Illinois FTC USPS called to get mail fraud report. The AWOL Abba gave that. Book I believe Glory is speaking about You Guys Right now!?????!!!!!!. I really do that's the book I continue to get You are on the mountain and there are others
These images are truly haunting. How NC rebuilds itself is a testament on the courage of these people who lost everything. There is strength in families and towns and churches and these places will be better and better for the test of another lifetime. Where there is life there is God.
My nephew and the crew from Cullman Power Board were there the next day. He talks of the devastation and heartbreaking loss that they witnessed. They have worked tornadoes and ice storms but were unprepared for the bodies. God Bless you all
I had always thought hurricanes need to be over water, WOW, I sure was wrong. I wish I could say what was never obvious to most of the folks who live or lived in this devastated area and wondering how many would have stayed had they known this storm was coming. I pray all who were lost are found and may God protect and heal the survivors.
I'm in the Grassy Creek area. Unbelievable how bad this storm and the rain that came days before. We had 20" of rain from Wednesday to Thursday and that was before Helene.

I live in NM this video is enlightening . Prayers always, for n.c. from n.m. Thank you Blue Ridge Power... great footage, video and newer perspective to those that don't know what The Real people behind the power companies dealt with THEY had a 9/11 on their hands. BUT hurricane /natural. Rescue workers THEY were the response team to anyone under 10 feet of Water. God BLESS.
So very heartbreaking seeing what Helene did & left behind. So many good people are forever affected by Hurricane Helene. Many more good people forever lost.
Remarkable service, from linemen, linewomen, such difficult, demanding, tiring work and oftentimes dangerous; we could say Helene was a multi-generational storm (as a generation commonly spans approx 25-30 years), and Helene's devastation has no comparison for at least 100+ years, according to most expert and historical accounts;
Just watching this video I was terrified see you men driving toward all that flooding to go and help restore power. I pray all of you got back home to your family's.🙏
Great video thank you so much!!! My daughter lives in Swannanoa and I want to go out and help out with my invention that keeps people warm by hitting the ground below their tent or many cabin or shed or tent or yurt or teepee... Or cardboard box
23 inches of rain fell on Nashville in 2010, for a 3 day total. It was terrifying to be in that one. Late on day 1 I tried and failed to rescue a guy wrapped around a bridge abutment with a million gallons of water ripping at my car. I backed out and left
These rains remind me of flooding in Hawaii. There are zones across the state that no one lives because the flooding is wild. Kauai is literally the wettest place on earth. Wow.
I'm only a couple minutes into this video, and having a panic attack. I feel so horrible for WNC residents. Please, anyone who can donate to help them, find a trusted source and donate. Even $5 means something, if you can't do anymore. Imagine ten thousand people donating $5. Just be sure your money is going to help and not pad pockets. I love visiting NC, and my heart is broken this horrible event has happened to them.
Who disarmed .N.C.ALERT SYSTEM WHY WAS IT IFF .SO EARLY.BEFIRE THE STORM HIT SOUNDS LIKE .WAS IT THISE PEOOLE QHO WENT I. FOR THOSE CRYSTALS AND BLICKED PEOOLE UP ON THAT MOUNTAIN FROM GETTING HRLO THEY NEEDED SO THEY COUKD MIE FOR THOSE CRYSTALS IRCWHAR EVER THEY CAME FOR?
The peopme on fartber down that river ahoukd have bedn evacuated too who dudnnt call thatvirder in each stat tbat list peooke it doesnt take a rocket scientist to fugute teveryoe ing that river needed evacuated all tbe way down tbe rivers edges. Till it leaves our country.
"WAKE UP CALL:” Imagine when raining creeks fill w/water, we all witnessed the natural rise of creeks and rivers all our lives during snow melts, thunderstorms, etc. What causes 10 foot surges & increase in depth of that water every 4 hours till a maximum depth 50ft is achieved? Could the cause be opening floodgates on four different dams or more and/or including several gates at a time on extremely large reservoirs which do exist north of this destruction be the reason for those surges that everybody testified in the region? It occurred specifically in North Carolina and Tennessee. What increased that water is they opened the next gates & we get another surge and an additional 10 feet of water with the rivers already full. This is the reality of what happened. There’s no other reason for surge of that proportion in a natural rain in 60+ years on this earth I’ve never witnessed such a surge until this storm surge on top of mountains. It is also the cause for the extreme displacement of anchored buildings to be washed off their foundations. High waters have never done that, only a surge can do that and once you got 40 feet of water full of every type of board, wood, toy, canned goods, bed frames, cars, tractors, trucks, trailers, wagons, campers, propane, tanks, concrete foundation, blocks, blacktop, concrete, bicycles, motorcycles, gas cans, rocks, and trees with the roots intact. Would that not also be the cause of the gorge left in its wake in excess of 20 feet and some locations deeper? Something's not adding up and somebody’s lying and if that’s the case it would explain no government help and a media blackout in order to take the attention off of what really happened. As far as I’m concerned, all guilty parties would do everything and anything to make sure the secret didn’t get out and exposed and complete lack of empathy for human life and media attention creating another problem that the people pulling those levers in those locales not only changed the land geographically permanent, but genocide their own people in their own communities. Neighbors, kin folk, strangers, and anyone in their wake and are directly responsible. The ones who should be under the microscope seen as the guiltiest & 30 people could pull off a catastrophe this large, very very easily. North Carolina and Tennessee have some very evil traitors living among them who will kill hundreds without the blink of an eye. And now that they done it, they’ll have no problem repeating on a larger scale. They are dangerous. People must be found out and dealt with on an extreme level. There’s no safety in those communities until that is resolved." - Jeff Muzinoski
With climate change this can become the norm. Evaporation caused by heat will continue to bring large rain makers to the us. The mountains made this rain worse. Watching your video I was wondering if you have ever tried Rain X?
Helene was not a hurricane once it left FL but just a giant rainmaker which added to the ran already received in NC. They keep saying hurricane Helene hit NC which isn't true.
We were looking at land in east tn and we blew up the photo we were looking at. A whole mountain was on the ground , the trees. The mountain looked scalped.
This is horrible, and all those communities need so much help. We keep talking about how FEMA is nowhere to be found, and how our government has let these people down... but what about the state? Has the state also let these people down? Because I'm hearing very little about state officials helping out also.
thanks for getting my power on in 2 days in the tear 1 part ❤ My town looked like poo you saved us! -Alleghany County NC- All prayers to people still suffering ❤

Awesome creation. NCDot and the linemen and electric utility companies were heroes of this ongoing event.
I still can’t believe this happened 😢…. I wish I could hug all of you ❤🇨🇦
Remarkable service, from linemen, linewomen, such difficult, demanding, tiring work and oftentimes dangerous; we could say Helene was a multi-generational storm (as a generation commonly spans approx 25-30 years), and Helene's devastation has no comparison for at least 100+ years, according to most expert and historical accounts;
Just watching this video I was terrified see you men driving toward all that flooding to go and help restore power. I pray all of you got back home to your family's.🙏
60 Billion in damages and the government is no where in sight.
God Bless, Love, and Protect these good people. Thank you Federal Govt. Not. It takes kind American souls to help these people.
That beginning footage was intense… even a little dangerous.
I’m from Canada and I’m just not understanding why there was no state of emergency called and why people are still in tents. What am I missing
Dear God
Great video thank you so much!!!
My daughter lives in Swannanoa and I want to go out and help out with my invention that keeps people warm by hitting the ground below their tent or many cabin or shed or tent or yurt or teepee... Or cardboard box
Hickory, NC here. Undoubtably it’s the worst storm in US history, had broader scope and degree of damage than Katrina.
23 inches of rain fell on Nashville in 2010, for a 3 day total. It was terrifying to be in that one. Late on day 1 I tried and failed to rescue a guy wrapped around a bridge abutment with a million gallons of water ripping at my car. I backed out and left
East Tennessee 🧡as well was destroyed 🙏👑😢🫡🇺🇲💯😪

You get it! Such a relief to see.
That’s moronic.

These rains remind me of flooding in Hawaii. There are zones across the state that no one lives because the flooding is wild. Kauai is literally the wettest place on earth. Wow.
Oh man!! It sure was bad in places!!!
OMG!!
Mother Nature was whispering and then she decided to scream. It will be years before total recovery and the scares will be a medal worn by all…

"WAKE UP CALL:” Imagine
when raining creeks fill w/water, we all witnessed
the natural rise of creeks and rivers all our lives during snow melts, thunderstorms, etc. There’s no safety in those communities until that is resolved." - Jeff Muzinoski

wow so many ids w 4 letters behind them...again....
Please don't raise the rates on the folks to recoup this money. Show us you really are one of us
With climate change this can become the norm. Evaporation caused by heat will continue to bring large rain makers to the us. The mountains made this rain worse. Watching your video I was wondering if you have ever tried Rain X?
There is no climate change! Research & get the truth
@@sandraking9650😂😂😂😂
Helene was not a hurricane once it left FL but just a giant rainmaker which added to the ran already received in NC. They keep saying hurricane Helene hit NC which isn't true.
What is the missing body count now in January 2025?
Where is Joe Biden?
Have lights? Thank a lineman.
We were looking at land in east tn and we blew up the photo we were looking at. A whole mountain was on the ground , the trees. The mountain looked scalped.

We had better get used to this type of weather. Global warming is increasing faster than anyone predicted and we are not immune from its effects.
The generational and government made storm
FEMA, government, representatives where are you ? You are next so don't cry.
Also, sort of silly district office would allow these guys to drive through those flood water like this.. Id10T’s.

There is no god
This is horrible, and all those communities need so much help. We keep talking about how FEMA is nowhere to be found, and how our government has let these people down... but what about the state? Has the state also let these people down? Because I'm hearing very little about state officials helping out also.
Did President Musk send help?
