Kay at least makes her food not raw, from what I’ve seen, while Jack shoves whole chicken in his mouth while it’s clucking for help.
Sometimes she goes a little overboard and burns things. But it is somewhat a little better and healthier than the heated for 2 minutes chicken Jack makes. That doesn't mean you wouldn't die if you were to eat it, but one way might be less painful than the other.
Still very moist and has a nice chew
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🐓🐓🐓
If the chicken isn't moving, you don't know what juicy means!
I bet Jack saw Red Spell Spells Red and thought it was a cooking video
I love how she boils beef in shitton of water but pasta in like a glass of water lmao
And it was a glass of _room temperature_ water. She doesn't add pasta to boiling, salted water. I just...

@@Linkus_1she called it "alphabet soup" which requires using alphabet letter pasta. Instead she used "farfalle" pasta.

As a Brit, your reaction to gravy granules is hilarious😂
But yes they are a real thing, they're dried stock pellets which you add to water to make gravy, it's quicker than making it yourself and it turns out a lot thicker than fresh gravy.
In the southern US, it is known as bullion or stock cubes. I'm going to start using gravy granules to see if anyone gets it.

As someone from Britland, we don’t always use a pot for this recipe, a deep enough puddle will do
can confirm
the puddlier the better
As someone from Burgerland, I just pay money via app and food shows up in my food bucket, and my soda is always full.
That’s why the recipe has no flavour, it’s because any puddle will do and they didn’t commonly come pre-salted, so we adapted to the lack of any taste. Can confirm it is indeed a crowd favourite
You mean a mud puddle?
Nah use the River Thames it adds extra flavour
Btw in the UK we have gravy granules which are basically gravy flavored pellets you mix with boiling water to make gravy. (Can't think of a better explanation!) Not sure if other companies sell them but Bisto is the company I use.
Kay is also talking about OXO at 6:20 which is a company that makes stock cubes here in the UK. Food and food companies here are very different to the USA!
Bisto gravy is awful, it's just salt and msg and ammonia caramel.
We just have dry gravy packets from McCormick here in the states.
hell yea brother bisto gravy is fucking awesome
We have them here in the US, the creator just forgot that we have powdered gravy in stores everywhere across the US.
Other european country here: We have that also. In cube, or powder form.
I don't know (really), but I'm pretty sure that even the US has has this, or some kind of "instant" dry gravy/soup/sauce that just needs mixing with water/milk/etc and maybe being cooked up a bit.
She replaced alphabet shaped pasta (which, by the way, you can find in the store where other dry pastas are shelved) with bow tie (farfalle) pasta. Her joke was, “Look, here’s A and here’s B,” picking up two pieces of the bow tie pasta.
The “noxoi” she put into the soup is actually a brand called OXO - basically think powdered beef stock compressed into the form of a cube that dissolves in water to make soups and stews more flavourful.
we call em a bullion cube in the states, in the south anyways, but looked like she ground hers up or something?
@@Sherwood-TN it's powder in a cube form
@@the__keth7808 That makes a lot more sense. Ours is more of a waxy type material that dissolves in the water
@@Sherwood-TN you can get those too, oxo is just one of the more common types
@@void.under.the.umbrella my sister liked to munch on chicken oxo.
For anyone wondering gravy granules is basically instant gravy you just add water to it, I can’t also be used in certain dishes. The other thing is Oxo which is also beef, chicken or vegetable stock in a solid powdery cube it’s used to enhance the flavour of those thing in soups or stew.
So she did made complete soup with seasonings and stock by using both
So like powdered gravy mix?

WHY HAS THE DUCK NOT THA KED TKU FKR THIS EXPLANATION? Also, I'm very surprised that America don't have an equivalent as they eat a lot of gravy right? Do they make it from scratch? I doubt it.
I feel physical pain whenever Kay's cooking is referred to as "British Cuisine"
This. It's not the standard, Kay's gone rogue like Colonel Kurtz up there.
It's Kay's cuisine
true, there's no sausage and beans.
As an American I understand this is not average Bri’ish cuisine.
Well there’s barely any “British Cousine”, you almost have nothing. Black Pudding? A breakfast with canned beans and cheap sausages that you call british breakfast? That everyone else around the world has a variation of? British Cousine is like German cousine, non existent.
Kay's move to not add salt into a dish with both bouillion cubes and instant gravy is actually very high IQ
Yours and my definitions of "very high IQ" are not the same
Honestly I never add salt to my cooking cause everything else is already loaded with it. Unless it's a veggie soup then I'll add salt.
@@spicybeantofuwait are you saying the products you use already have salt so you don’t use extra or there’s absolutely no salt in the dish? You also probably use other ingredients to season your food besides just using salt or nothing 😂

@@zromo8994 if you add salt to a dish containing gravy granules and OXO then you evidently have a very low IQ
Brit here. Gravy granules and Oxo cubes are basically beef stock and bullion cubes respectivley. Pre seasoned flavour dust and pre seasoned folavour cubes so she did technically season it as both have high salt and pepper contents.
Oh
I can't believe that an American, of all people, doesn't know "instant" gravy/soup/bullion/stock/etc, stuff.
Cook here.
Sorry but gravy granules are not beef stock, or more exactly they are much more than that, it's loaded with potato starch, maltodextrine, wheat flour and palm fat to create a very low quality emulsification of the beef stock. I won't tell you how the beef stock they use is made, this is gross enough.

I was wondering why I felt some sort of weird connection to Kay. First I thought it was because she was British but now knowing she's from Sheffield it all makes sense. It's the familiarity in her voice (as I'm from Sheffield too)
She grabbed the blade of the knife instead of the perfectly good handle to open the ground beef. Astounding.

Here in Germany you can get the dry alphabet soup noodles in pretty much every supermarket. When I was a kid my mom put it into her chicken soup regularly.
Oxo is a brand of stock cubes (essentially more gravy) gravy granules are dehydrated gravy in a granulated form. To put it in a way Americans would understand... sweaty beef with gravy & gravy.
For anyone who wonders, Her joke to the pasta was “Oh look this one’s (letter) A and B” then proceeds to chuckle
What I've learned so far is that if Kay calls something a soup it's better to just not think about it too much.
Every soup ends up like mashed potatoes and can be eaten with a fork 😅
Not gonna, lie she cracked me up with the “ look, there’s A and there’s B “ 😂😂😂
I've made one pot beef soup before... but I sautee carrots and potatoes. Add the ground beef. Season it with salt, pepper, and various other seasons. I brown up the beef. I add a can of tomatoe puree, beef stock, and bring to a boil i simmer for 30 min. Then add canned corn or whatever along with some hot sauce to even out the sweetness from the corn and tomato puree.
I love how kay gives Lee that same exact look every time he eats her cooking. She just looks so unsure of what she's just created 😂
When she said 'Oh I thought you'd say it's garbage!😅😅' that was my favourite part😂♥️
I think it's her maternal instinct kicking in, fearing for her child's life.
@@WadeWilsonDP Actually made me laugh lmao, best comment.
The boiling @6:11 is the most comedic thing I’ve seen on Kay’s channel
It’s like a witch’s cauldron
It looks like it's dying
That's the sound my ass makes after tacos
It looks like a science experiment 😂
“Beef water just the way mama used to make” 3:08 😂😂😂😂😂😂 bloody savage human being
3:12 "o ing anna put a'w.. when- when e- when it's spoiled because uh... Look! that's A and that's B'e" **Wheezes**
5:05 "I just boil the water and down it" hell yeah bone apple teeth 👌😩
Kay: “i’m not cutting out the alphabet pasta”
Also Kay: * uses pre-made pasta anyways *
This recipe is a lot like one that we make here, but it comes in a box. Hamburger helper makes a beef pasta variety which is essentially what this is. I'm sure it would be great (simple but good) if she tasted then seasoned it at the end, and if she'd have prevented the granules from congealing like that, always a risk when thickening...like that.
OK for those of you who are wondering what Kay was saying during the video the gravy granules is a type of gravy you normally use for beef dishes but it can be used for other types of food too. After she added the gravy granules she added an oxo cube to the beef pot. Also earlier when she picked up two pieces of pasta she said the first one was A & the second one was B & then she started laughing after that. Hopefully this was helpful to someone who watched this video.
This needs to be higher up. I had to scroll for any clues what this woman was saying. Thanks sib

I love how it sounds like a mad scientist lab in every one of Kay's cooking videos
Lmao, my mom used to make me alphabet soup. There's certain Mexican pasta brands that make tiny pasta shapes and one of them was alphabet shapes. It was super good, and, since we weren't that financially stable, she'd make it for the whole family. Not all alphabet soups are from cans, but most of what people know come from cans.
Sopa de letras! 😋😋😋
What a waste of ground beef. I've never understood putting water in to cook ...I've also seen British chefs who put water in the bacon skillet, that was odd!
It won't kill you, but...Kay will eat it with a smile, give it to her son to agree.
I'd never forgive myself if I messed up a simple soup, let alone waste all that ground beef.
Where's the barley? Come on woman! Mince does not take an hour to boil until it's done! Yum.
Somebody needs to send you some alphabet noodles.
It's a thing.
i cant say id eat most of Kay’s food, but she’s a wholesome honest chef. very loveable person, still has improved quite a bit tho.
At least she cooks her food unlike jack
I'd eat this one if it's all that was going, there's nothing truly awful other than a bit bland on flavour. It's just beef, gravy and pasta
Kays cooking is like voctorian recipes with ingredients you wouldnt be able to afford back then
Voctorian.
Mrs Crocombe would probably hunt Kay down and boil her for cooking like that
It's a bit like the Chinese whisper of a Victorian recipe passed on by a granny with dementia :D
@@Paul_W.E_Ingham ahhh your comment made me laugh out loud with tears.
Ah, yes, the famous fucking voctorian period. Yes.
She put beef oxo powder in the soup it actually has a lot of beef flavour and honestly this may be the best thing I’ve ever seen kay cook it’s still not saying much because she basically just added gravy powder to ground beef water and noodles with carrots but hey she finally succeeded with a tasty dish 😂
😂 right haha she basically just made a huge ass bowl of gravy with some beef and threw in a random carrot and pasta hahahahaha
Her joke was the 1 pasta shape was an A and the other a B. Hence the "Alphabet" soup. Oxo is an oxo cube (powdered cubed beef stock). Gravy Granules is just powdered gravy. I'm not British and I knew all this and not sure what the confusion is. But regardless that stuff looked absolutely disgusting.
Pro tip: when using ground beef for stew, get a much bigger pot and for the same amount of beef she has fry the beef until browned at the bottom of the pot and then add 2 large cans of stewed tomatoes. After that, add 2L of beef stock. Fry some onions and garlic in butter until translucent and then add it to the stew. Add a few cubed Russet potatoes, sliced carrots, fresh or frozen green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, corn and basically any other ingredients you want. Season to taste with Worcestershire Sauce, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, smoked paprika and basically anything else you think goes well with a tomato beef stew. If your canned stewed tomatoes are already seasoned that makes it way easier. You can also cook noodles in with the stew when your potatoes are almost done. Just make sure not to overdo them and feel free to substitute the stock with water and beef bouillon just make sure that you get the amounts right and account for salt already in the cubes
Infinitely better than what we just saw, but I'm still bothered by the ground beef. Why not just buy an inexpensive cut of beef and cut it into cubes?
@@saltator1802 Ground Beef is nice when you're on a budget but it's never supposed to be the star of the show. Mainly your veggies, the beef is primarily for the flavor and fat. DO NOT DRAIN THE FAT also ground beef takes 0 skills or prep
@@MisterBones223 OK, if I ever go back to eating meat I'll try it...
@@saltator1802 As you sent this message I'm currently foraging for wild oyster mushrooms, have you given Oysters a try?
@@MisterBones223 Well, I wouldn't trust my judgment in foraging for mushrooms, and real oysters are not for me. I have vast experience in low-budget cookery, though. My most basic recipe used to be warm water, in times of true desperation.
I love how Kay looked genuinely surprised when he said it was nice
Maybe she films a lot more of these & only uploads them when he gives it the thumbs up
Props to her son for always being nice 🍷🗿
I remember back in my army days, the higher ups failed to order enough MREs and the dfac had not been supplied except for one thing, we stood in line with our trays, we walk down the line and receive, a half of a raw unpeeled onion. Beef water would be nice.
Whenever she makes soups they remind me of how bowls of food look when you mess them up in Zelda BOTW 😅
Mmmm pixelated food 😋
When the dubious food gives you enough poopoo power to destroy Calamity Ganon with fudge sludge.
lmao i loOooOOoOve dubious food..😅😭
Can we just take a moment and clarify that she didn’t even make soup.
Dubious as a motherfucker
The fact that no one said anything when she putted the pasta in cold water without boiling it before really makes me feel how everyone is so used to this kind of "cooking" that a major issue like this doesn't even get recognized
Every time she uses the knife I feel legitimately terrified. She doesn't deserve to get hurt! She's too sweet
She’s a pro
@@shanescolaro455 oh god
Watching her open that mince was a bit scary!
@@Stewf123 Was she... holding the knife by the blade..?
Kay's face at 8:17 😂
5:46 gravy granules is powdered gravy that when you add hot water to it turns to gravy.
Lee has got to be one of the easiest people on the planet to please. (as far as food goes) I guess he grew up with Kay’s cooking so maybe that explains it. If he ever gets a significant other with basic cooking skills he’ll be in heaven.
or he's just being nice to his mum
He got molded by Kay's cooking. The human body must adapt to ita environment. Taste glands are redundant!
You can do real alphabet soup, usually a tomato base or something similar. In Britain as well as in Canada you can buy a box of Alphabet Pasta. It's actually nice to make an alphabet soup from scratch, making it more healthy.
I think this is a perfect time to clarify that she didn’t even make soup 💀
With "oxo" she probably means "oxygen", because she sure can use some of that, gasping and heaving like a wildebeest that just ran a mile
Than would explain her brain damage!
@3:19 "look! That's A and that's B!"
So she really is just going to pretend its alphabet pasta huh?
Or grade pasta
F pasta exists then
I really don’t know how these people survive the recipes 😂😂😂
Kay's at least does seem cooked and not really life threatening
Bold of you to assume they survived.
Well this'd probably be perfectly edible. Just bland as hell cos she only used unseasoned beef and carrots, and Oxo gravy granules are essentially tasteless.
A very boring beef stew over pasta.
minus the grounding of the beef, this is what humans/hunter gatherers ate for millions of years. look up the adam raguesa vid on soup, and boiling stuff. its very interesting.
This one probably tastes fine. It's just minced beef in gravy, with pasta. Not much of a flavour profile going on, but I think most of us have had worse meals.
I wouldn't personally boil mince though, the texture is going to be a bit rubbery
Here in the UK we have ready-made gravy where you just add boiling water and can be used for roasts and other stuff, a brand called Bisto is one.
Also at 06:20 she’s saying “I’ll put an OXO in”, an OXO is a broth cube (concentrated beef/ vegetable/ pork broth)
So... basically bouillon. Interesting.
3:20 "that's a and that's b"
she doesn't have the alphabet pasta so she used a different pasta and she said "that's a and b"
edit: i feel superior for understanding that
As a brit, I can confirm this is as exciting as British cuisine gets.
Maybe. But battered sausage is a close call
In your house maybe
greggs sausage roll or beans on toast beats this
@404CallMeBen It's hilarious that _that_ was your defense, a store bought sausage role, and straight baked beans on toast.
The meme is alive and well over there 😅
You either ain't british, or you're a kid with a mum that's a terrible cook.
Say what you want about Kay but at least her food is always FULLY cooked
I'd rather eat the green brisket chilli... Dr Seuss would never lead us astray.
sometimes it gets a lil burnt but its definitely better than jack's cooking
Kay and Jack need to do a cook-off.
Id watch that LMAO it would be entertaining, but i wonder who would do the tasting cuz lee would maybe be too biased.💀
discovered this channel amid a deep dark rabbithole of watching KinCobraJFS videos, and idk why but August is everything i need in youtube rn covering all this wack freakin food stuff. It's healing me
I feel bad for lee he's been eating this kind of food for his entire life.
Moral of the story is that Kay doesn’t know how to make soup
I llove how Kay always warns us that she’s about to cook again
in classic french cuisine you can use minced meat. As an example for a consommé (french clear usually beef soup) you can use the minced meat to clear up the soup.
Her son is always so sweet to her. He always seems to like her recipes.❤
