    There is a new, never before seen way to use Naissant purple shampoo on PLATINUM hair. And guess who’s showing you this inventive way to keep your blonde color nice and ashy? Well…you’re here, so ME obvi! Aren’t you glad I can’t keep a secret? whippycake I recently used color oops to remove red hair and it came out looking like a strawberry blonde almost ginger colored tone anyways I went to dye it a golden blonde and when I was processing I noticed this pinkish purplish color starting to come through but of course my roots were becoming the desired shade of blonde I'm now trying to figure out how to get rid of that weird color that's bleeding through my hair color looks awful I would really like to go blonde instead of going back to brown to hide this weird color that I'm definitely not fond of and going to the salon is not an option for me I've toned with purple shampoo and then tried to dye it ash blonde hoping that would also help get the pinky purple color toned down and was really hoping since it was almost your hair color that it would just bleach it out. any tips on how I can get rid of this color at home w/o going back to brown?

      @@itsGINA11 you can neutralize pretty much any color by adding the opposite color to it. Find your shade on the color wheel and look for the opposite shade. If it's more orange you would want a blue tint and if pink more of a teal shade, more purple pink you would want more of a green shade. Hope that can you out in the future. ❤️

    I've always applied purple shampoo to my hair when it's dry. I'll use it in the shower too but every once in awhile when it needs a really good spiff up, I'll apply it to my dry hair, sometimes mixed with a TINY bit of purple dye and leave it on all of my hair for a good hour. I just thought it was kind of common sense to use it on the dry hair for a more intense toning because it will soak up the pigment a lot better.

    I hope U read this: I recently went silver blonde from black hair. *4 hours progress but worth it*. Then I bought purple shampoo and washed my hair with it. The advice from the seller wasn't doing it for my hair. After a series of mishaps with the shampoo *my hair was very dry and stiff after doing a wrong combination and needless to say that my hair was turning more yellow/blondish than silver*, I did your suggestion and my hair is ALMOST back to it's original color. Need to do it again once more time then it will be okay.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You've saved my nights going out and with that my life!

    The shampoo she is using is not very pigmented...that's why she can leave it on such blonde hair without it turning purple...if she were to do this with a very pigmented shampoo it would be completely purple and would take weeks to wash out...so people be careful when trying this...remember she said her stylist recommended this to her so she knew it was the correct shampoo

      whippycake I can't imagine the cost of the "purple " shampoo. But MY hair is super thick and almost 4 foot long. Naturally blonde but around my face has turned gray. Everyone thinks this is a "highlight"". It's not. It's 100% natural. Pretty sure I can't afford the purple shampoo you're promoting.

      Anita Honeycutt in AU, purple shampoo ranges in price from $8 to $45ish.
      I just bleached my 1" long hair for the second time (first time 7 days ago - went light orange, used toner & it failed) with blue hi-lift powder, innovative crème 20vol developer & olaplex, which went light sunshine yellow, am about to use a $16 purple shampoo to clean out the hellzyellz - I'll be back in 20 minutes to let ya know how it goes 👍

      Hmm... well, the roots are the color I wanted, but the rest is only ever so slightly lighter. I started a 10 minute timer then put the product in my hair, then rinsed & towel dried.
      I'm waiting for it to air dry some more, so I can try that again for 20 minutes.
      I'd go 30 minutes but I don't really want purple hair haha

    Ugh purple shampoo just turned my daughter’s hair purple! Her hair wasn’t as light as this...some sections were and some had yellow hues. Salon suggested purple shampoo and now her hair looks lavender. They said it will wash out but it’s not. WTH? How do you tone only the yellow parts and not the white parts?

    hello! I recently used purple shampoo and left it on for a good while to try and get all the yellow out. There are some more purple tints. After you tone it, will it continuously stay that color or will it wash out a bit?

    • @whippycakeplus
      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ashwhirlwind It will definitely wash out. Bleached hair doesn't hold onto color very well. So if you don't like the purple tone, just wash again with regular or clarifying shampoo and boom, back to normal.

    • @whippycakeplus
      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Carrie Densley I have tried that before but I find the conditioner starts to coat the hair making it a little bit heavier and weighted down so it doesn't style the same when it's dry. I do like to leave the conditioner on for about a minute though and it really does wonders just in that short time.

So I used the purple shampoo on dry hair on the top and clarifying shampoo on the sides and things are pretty much evened out. whippycake I've had bright magenta - which wasn't entirely intentional lol it worked though! That was about 8 years ago, when my hair was longer.
      At the moment, my hair is about an inch long, I lightened it twice about a month ago, then put a colored shampoo in it (using your on-dry-hair method, which worked AWESOMELY!!!! Thank you!!!) & now it's mauve with golden hues & darkish roots (which gives it definition) - looks like warm purple cotton candy under bright lighting 😊😊 lol
      Ps. I'm 35... if coloring your hair outside the norm, at my age is frowned upon... well... boohoo. 😂 lol
      A girl at my work has fluoro red hair with bright orange roots - looks sooo bloody cool & flamey!! 😍😍
      When I'm over mauver lol I'm going to dye it hmm I actually really like the mauve 😊 so maybe just a brighter version of it, because it's pretty pastelly now.

    I just bumped into this video while doing some purple shampoo brand comparisons. After watching, I figured, why not. I tried this method with the purple shampoo I have on hand. The results were 200% better than using as a regular shampoo in the shower! I feel like I should've realized such an obvious idea that concentrated product is much more effective than diluted with water, but I digress. Maintaining blonde hair color is work--which you've just made easier for a lot of people! Thank you so much for this video!

    Just bought some purple shampoo online! Definitely going to try this with dry hair. I recently had it dyed gray.. didn't stick whatsoever. My hair is naturally blonde, but brassy/dishwater blonde haha. Since the dye didn't stick, it's just a lot lighter but has that brassy look. Hopefully will work (:

    • @whippycakeplus
      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Alex Seger It will help a lot. If you want a true gray, you will need to have your stylist lift you to a lighter/platinum blonde. Then the color will be more true. Of course it will still fade, but it's so much fun.

    I got a purple shampoo from my hairdresser and tried it for 3 times by now, the first time I did it in the shower like a normal shampoo - my hairdresser said not to leave it more than 2-3 mins but it did absolutely nothing. 2nd time I put it on damp hair for 15 minutes and it turned only a few little spots lighter. 3rd time I put it on dry hair for about an hour and it did get rid of yellowness but still not as much as I want it to be. Will it take long to go from pale blonde to platimun white?

    • @whippycakeplus
      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't leave it on longer than 15 min. It won't do much more beyond the 15 min besides potentially dry it out. If your blonde is darker than the shampoo is less effective. Purple shampoos work best on light to platinum blonde hair types. It also doesn't lighten hair in anyway, it just removes yellow tones and brassiness.

      +whippycake So, when I want to tone I do a deep condition as well. Mix equal parts purple shampoo and conditioner PLUS it's a 10 purple keratin mask. Put it all over slightly damp hair and sit under the dryer for 20 mins. You have fresh pearly sliver hair and happy hydrated, conditioned hair.

      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Megan Butler Yes, Platinum hair is usually damaged hair too. My salon has been using Olaplex on my hair and it's really helped a lot. As for products that I use at home, I always start with an oil like the Naissant Argan Oil or a leave in treatment like It's a 10 amzn.to/1RbNp86. Then I try not to style my hair everyday with heat tools. I extend my styles several days with dry shampoo. Hope that helps a bit. Thanks for asking.

      +Ana Garcia You certainly can use whatever purple shampoo you have. I've tried quite a few and this one is favorite because it's very moisturizing. A lot of other brands I've tried are really drying. So just make sure to follow up your purple shampoo with a deep conditioning treatment.

  • @mpd1164
    @mpd1164 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    May I ask why you are using the shampoo as your long-duration toning treatment instead of the conditioner? I use the same Naissant conditioner, but I haven't yet tried their shampoo (I'm using a non-purple shampoo for hard water). I find the conditioner tones well (although now I must try it on dry hair!), but seeing you use the shampoo makes me think maybe I am doing it wrong should tone with the shampoo instead?

    • @whippycakeplus
      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lemon Drop I don't think you are "doing it wrong", but you might want to try the shampoo on your next purchase. I do love the conditioner. Not only does it help with the moisture, but is assists in the purple shampoo process. You can see in this vid that the shampoo is much more pigmented. I haven't tried just the conditioner by it's self, but I'm thinking you will get a better ashy payoff if you used both products. Let me know if you try the conditioner on dry hair. I would love to know if you see a difference. XOXO

  • @latinainwpb
    @latinainwpb 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Frankly, I don't think that's a good idea, that much shampoo is bound to leave residue inside the hair because it's very porous already and WILL dry it eventually; think of putting dish detergent on a sponge and then trying to rinse it until no more bubbles come out. As a cosmetologist myself I'd recommend trying the conditioner ONLY, as a deep treatment. Not necessary to use on dry hair (just damp) if you apply a little heat after covering your hair with a plastic cap and wrap a towel over it, then check after 20 min. For long hair the ends must not be covered with any toning product until the very end though or they'll turn lavender.
    My hair is just a very light ash blond with some darker hairs in between from natural graying hair after using a high lift tint, so the purple toning products don't work for me. With very few exceptions, I don't shampoo my hair, I co-wash, which I think should be "mandatory" for all color treated hair and especially for bleached hair. So, what I bought was just Sally's generic purple conditioner but since it wouldn't neutralize the brass on the darker parts what I began doing is add in a travel size bottle Jazzing Jet Grape (got it on a clearance sale) it's really mostly blue so my lighter hairs do get white if I don't leave the mixture on too long. I've also used that mixture as a leave-in combined with one of my other conditioners and just dab tiny bits of the "undiluted" mixture on the gold-orange parts, but one time I used too much of the Jazzing in the mix and my hair turned out gray. However, that actually worked because I had a lot of new growth and there was no line of demarcation. :-)

    • @whippycakeplus
      @whippycakeplus  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Andrea Sif - If you have a lot of hair you might want to try spritzing your hair with water to dampen it up since dry hair does absorb quite a bit of product. Slightly damp hair will help the product absorb and distribute better.

    I did this but using the Fudge Violet Shampoo. This shampoo is pigmented as hell. It is almost black, like black berry black and toned my golden yellow hair to ash blonde in 15 minutes. Only con is my already highlighted parts that were pale yellow turned so ashy that look purple gray. Wish I knew how to separate every tiny highlight from the rest of the hair...like I could pfff. It is way cheaper than this Naissant brand and way better. Not drying at all, maybe because it has 3x keratin and proteins to it.

    No it is not damaging for your hair . It has keratin which is basically protein that binds the damage bonds from bleaching
    So it's good for your hair.way better than a peroxide based toner.

      Funny that you just posted this, as I was thinking about going to Sally's a few days ago. Haven't made it there yet, but intend to go their soon.I am hoping that using a toner will either make it whiter or a silvery. And, that it will be easy to use at home . I have heard others say that if you nheed to have your hair toned have it done professionally. I just know that when I look at it , it appears yellowish around the ends. It doesn't show up in my picture well. But in certain lighting, I have been told by others they too see yellow. And, I don't think the water in my area in all that good (I never drink from the tap for this reason ) so I am sure it does effect my hair as well. Thank you for your word and encouragement. !!

    • @wolfsf2012
      @wolfsf2012 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lorie P. If you're an all over color (meaning you don't have any other dye or natural color left) it should be pretty easy. Many people use Wella t18 or t11 it's one with lift but if you do have any other hair it will lift the other color too. Ion brand just came out with a few toners that you can put on your hair but I'm not sure how well they work. Manic Panic, it also doesn't use developer (lift), but people say it doesn't last super long but works well.

    • @wolfsf2012
      @wolfsf2012 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lorie P. Oh Ion also has grey/silver dyes, I use them on my platinum hair and I recommend Storm because it's more of a purple base but it doesn't cover that well so I'm not sure if I'd cover over the yellow giving a uniform color or not. They also have Titanium which is a blue based and after a long while (years) it makes it a greenish tone. But that one covers well.
