    This video just shows people you don't need £100K fancy specialist vehicles to do recovery jobs. It is all about the operators knowledge and strong equipment. All round decent bloke doing work at decent prices.👍

      Have a look at "Florida offroad recovery" I can't believe what this guy gets out. How do people get in predicaments like this one with so much room to turn around also she could have driven the thing home cheers.

    This is the first Sleaford Recovery video I’ve seen. I love the thoughtfulness , logical thinking and obvious abundance of skills.

      I'm sure there's plenty that would. Sometimes though it's easy ti shrug when a car gets further damage and just say "nothing I could do".

    Very well done, I work for the largest breakdown and recovery company in the UK, (small van)I see this type of issue regularly and struggle to deal with these scenarios with my onboard kit, that's a great way to tackle a job like that with the equipment you have, congrats on your care taken.

    The problem of driving in fog with modern cars is most have automatic lights. The auto sensors register darkness, not visibility, and it isn't dark enough. A lot of people don't know where the switch/lever to turn the lights on manually

    I really enjoy these sort of winchouts, I have a degree of winching knowledge from running tractor mounted forestry winches but no auto experience. Quite fun pauseing the video and trying to work out how you will do it.

    Nice recovery mate, man's got skills. I'm truck driver & also get pissed off with peps not using the heads lights in the fog think they forget the the auto function only works for dark conditions not fog, to lazy to turn switch on.

    Well done on a great recovery. You sussed out the dynamics that would affect the car while winching, especially the hub below parapet level would likely rip the wheel/suspension off. As soon as I saw the position of the car, I thought "he's going to have to use a jack to get it up and over the wall". Good job!

    A guardian Angel must have been watching over her reversing off the bridge into the ditch! Well done with the rigging Ben and understanding the extreme forces if the center of the axel wasn't above the bridge deck. You get a sub for that.

    That was very impressive. I couldn't see how you were going to be ale to get that out of there with doing some serious damage to the fuel tank. Obviously Malcolm was the mastermind behind the scenes telling you what to do. Shame you didn't let him do the editing as well. Worth the wait though, good job Ben..

    portable air bags. like some garages use. support the front. gently roll forward. the air bags rolling under the chassis. for minimal undercarriage damage.

    Normally them ditches are full in winter they are around Kings Lynn area lucky girl.
    Hope she's learned just turn around on the road back into the junction and never go into field gate ways.
    Expecially around Norfolk or Lincolnshire.
    I've recovered few from ditches all done the same thing sadly.
    Everyone learns from mistakes.

    We always use the hole in the shackle to wire the pin in place on more permanent uses. If it was tight we would use a spanner on the flats to loosen it.

      Yeah tbh I have a pair of Mole grips in my locker that I use in the same way as you described.

    the thinking on shackles has changed recently, not sure how recent though. Went to Brize Norton, many years ago, to do an underslung lifting course, closest thing found to lifting tackle inspection, when under strain, the pin tightens and will not come loose, but was corrected, to your way, in the last couple of years.

      Yeah, I actually watched a video where they tested the breaking strain of shackles when done tight or backed off, it's only 3-5% less but the backed off ones always failed first

    Great job done with care. I have done this twice, once pulled out of mountain ditch by tractor. This almost pulled my car apart. The other time I went over a very high kerb and got stuck on sill. ( wheels in the air) Got out pushed car off kerb and jumped back in as my car was going down hill. Never again.

      Yeah I wish I could do more of them. My favourite jobs are winch outs that the customer wants to drive after so I don't have to load/unload 😂

    Well done Sir. The UK have a love of saying what if, what if. In this situation you are 100% right - chances of drowning in one foot of water and being towed out by a farmer or cowboy recovery driver, well then she'd be fecked both ways. If ever I was in a situation like that I'd love to have a legend like you attend.

    I recognize your being astonished: I recon that about 80% of drivers on the road have no clue at all how important it is to use the car lights and signal lights. Not only in foggy conditions, but also when the sun is low (which is about 8 out of the 12 months in a year) drivers do not engage their car lights; that is nothing less than murderous conduct. And, by the way, a big thumbs up for a great job.
