Hi Ben used to work with your Dad. I've cruised by his place in France a few times and he said take a gander at your channel. So here I am! Great channel and your commentary is perfect!!! 😊 Well entertaining..... I've had a use for a recovery truck a few times in my life and I was always well pleased to see it! 👍
Always a joy watchin your antics, not been in the best place recently but always get some relief from vids, thank you. I think it was very kind of you to pay them for the work you didn't ask for an to not bite their heads off tbh!
Hey Ben. Great video mate. Such a shame when hard working, kind people like yourself fall on hard times. I really hope that things get better for you soon. Much love pal.
Sorry to hear you’ve been having a crappy time Ben hope you get some better times come your way soon! On a brighter note great video and the new logo looks great would definitely look good on some clothing 👌 Much love to you and Malcolm mate have a great week!
Only liking coz you asked me to, sorry you’re having a pants time. It is hard when you work for yourself to keep your spirits up, especially for you as you’re filming it too. Sure it’ll come good mate you’re a top guy.
HI! I believe lights are important but reflective tape is even more imporrtant in the recovery business. have you thought about putting some on the door? On the side (inside) where the latch is located (on the video i will put the title, it can be seen at 15:50 ish minutes, and its the vertical one) and on the door card side where the fella had the horizontal stickers. the video where the fella has a lot of tape (of course less can do the job as well) is called "TRUCK BREAKDOWN RECOVERY ON M4 MOTORWAY EMERGENCY REFUGE AREA!" by heavy recovery with steve. I guess volvo puts reflective sticker on the FH but only on the side where the latch located, so you only have the benefit when the door is opened partially. if they put sticker on the door card dimension, it would shine when the door 100% opened. Like you vids. Also I believe passive safety equipment (reflective tape, clothes, hi viz colors) is just as important as active (lights). Reflective tape does not blind drivers, but let them know the dimensions of your vehicle and where its positioned, where its front or back is. Also I would think the importance of hi viz colors and reflective tape have a 30-70 ratio, so have you thought about putting reflective tape on your truck bed? side? Back? on the front corners of your cab? on your front door? Or on the front i think even just yellow/red/green/blue stripes can help. What do you think? keep up the vids mate
Logo looks cool I like it. I did question at first if it was another channel that filmed with you lol. But then realised you changed it. I know A People to Ben.
South Kyme village admin sounds like she’s not our type of people! Hope business picks up for you - that sounds bad hoping the good people of sleaford break down but…. 😂🙈 Also, GDB has a discount code for lights on the video he posted this morning 🤣
Some people don't know a nice thing when it's right in front of their face. Tell them to get in the sea! Does my head in when I've been to a garage and they do work not asked and then charged. So now I use a mobile mechanic and have complete trust in him. Stay safe. See you on the next one ❤
Feel your pain with the maintenance, people don't realise what is involved with keeping trucks legal. I've got 2 trucks in this week being repaired and safety checked and I'm not looking forward to the bill. Chin up, next wee can only be better.
Autumn is here and winter soon so hopefully work will pick up. I do hate when companies charge for work you didn't ask them to do! I was down your way in Lincoln last weekend, I had forgotten how flat it was round there.
I would be upset about work being done that wasnt approved. And i could go on for a week about settings and seats being messed with but the absolute worst thing i hate more than anything is when they hose down the interior with some kind of silicone based slippery crap which seems to be everywhere! There i joined in! Good video ben keep it up.
HA , i have a village near Glastonbury that won't talk to me as well - purchased a load of papers from the now defunkt Lobbley & Platt auction in Gainsborough from an estate sale . Turned out to have several deeds to properties the old woman had owned including the original sale of the land from the church in like 1820 with the Bishop of wells & Bath old wax seal on . Around 3ft x 2ft old parchment doccument that looks super cool in itself . Tried contacting people on the Pilton village web site and even tried contacting the vicar with no replies from anyone , one was even a local councilor - but nope , not a word from any of them . Deeds relate to an old school house and school that are now holiday rentals and plot of land as well as the old church vicarage and more land around it . Basically purchased the deeds to half the old village lol ...
i had a price to go from my works to next industry estate ( recovery company is on estate as well(both sites)) which is 500 Yards to the mechanics of £170 .. fair enough owner rung me and said do it for £80 +vat .. in the end we paid £8 for toe rope and towed it round for nothing with my bosses car .. I would have lobbed recovery driver £30 cash just to do it ... distance may have been closer.
I know how you feel about being charged for work you didnt need. I had an iveco 18t hiab wagon, booked it in for a pre mot inspection . Before it i greased the king pins , prop shaft etc adjusted the rear brakes . When i went to pick it up the invoice had grease service and rear brake adjustment on it . I said you have to be joking , they wouldn't release the wagon till i paid in full . Robbing gits . Also do your own servicing in future, parts are readily available. I recommended the cream soda 😉😉
I usually service everything mate but Ronnie holds 16-17L of oil and I can't get it high enough to get a container big enough to hold that much oil. I only have 2 x 10L containers. I just thought sod it, I'll get them to do an oil service. Wish I hadn't now 😕
@@Fighting_Torque I have a pair of ramps made out of heavy angle iron and topped with 1/4 chequer plate for servicing . Alternatively you could link the 2 x 10litre containers together with a piece of pipe at the bottom, thus giving 20 litre capacity 😉 cheers
@croftslochsengineeringcont2959 of course. Like I said in the video, they were all synced up at one point but the pattern drops ever month or 2. Bored of resetting them now

I love the view from the cab when you're heading to and from a job. I feel so lucky to live in Lincolnshire. Looking forward to the stickers and if you can get me some business cards, I will put them in my Minis for giving out to anyone in need. (It happens) Also, if I could give you some of ours for Mini owners, I'd be appreciative if you could pass them on. Next month a few of us from my Mini group are meeting at the W.A.V.E on the A15 (Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure) for the last car meet of the year there. I believe it's on Sunday 13th October 9.30-11.30am. Any type of vehicle is welcome, hot & cold food and refreshments from The Sentry Snack bar. Dogs on leads are welcomed. There are portaloos but they only unlock 1 so as to save money (I was told), as they only need to pay for 1 to be emptied then 🤢 My friend said it was extremely pungent. If you are doing nowt, perhaps you could pop along? G x
