this hair dye is the only box dye that wasn't a disaster for me. I recommend it if you have dyed your hair blonde but it turned all brassy and now you want to fix it back to a natural dark blonde!

    I love the color :)
I'm really digging how grey/ash hair is in this season. I think it looks fabulous~

The top is still reddish because that's where your roots are. It's also the area most exposed to sunlight, fading the colors faster.
You should really really really first apply the dye to your roots and go down, using the rest of the product for the ends, which need less color. That way you would ensure even coverage.

The best thing about Germany is how cheap the hairdye is! Here in Denmark it's like 25$ a box and in Germany it's like 3$ a box! I always buy a ton and bring them home with me :b
The color looks amazing on you, it suits you SO well!

Why is it so expensive In Denmark

I want to buy a million hair dye kits just for the conditioner and serum that comes with them ughhh they're SO GOOD. Your hair turned out really well too I kinda like the reddish color, it adds a really natural looking highlight I think o/

oh lovely, that came out brilliantly. Really beautiful natural shade

This colour suits your skin. The best ash blonde effect I had was with 8.11 shades(permanent colour, "light deep ash blonde", any brand) mixed with 9% cream developer. My natural shade is between 6-7 (dark to medium blonde), so I needed 9% developer to lift, to achieve color 8.11. Ideally, I would do highlights first and then coloring. Then, you would get pure cool ash blonde tone, rather than warm tone.

I used this to lighten my dark brown hair and it worked. I knowknIt's because I kept the top of the box for futuere use. It's really good shade. As long as the name has the word ash or cool, it's safe, but unfortunately they are rare. L'Oreal has a new range now with the letter C after the number which is a range of cool browns, but o can only find them abroad online.

A tip girl... You can get that with purple shampoo if you use it as a toner, not a shampoo! I will suds it in my hair and then just poor a bunch on top and don't rub it in. Leave it for 10 minutes or so, occasionally mixing it up. It literally does just this!! I get a huge Sally Shimmer lights knock off bottle and it's awesome. Saves your hair from dye as well. May be a "ghetto" trick, but you should try it. My hair is the same color as your original but with white tips. 😊

Not sure if you've used it before, but you should try purple shampoo. They make it for dyed blond/silver hair. It takes the yellow/orange out from deposits from the water and hair products. I live in Canada (Vancouver, BC!) and recently bought a product called Shimmer Lights from Clairol (I would think they'd have that in Japan, or as a possibility to transfer in since it's mainly sold in the States), and it's the best purpling shampoo/conditioner I've ever purchased. I've used a bunch of different ones before that only partially cleared the brassy notes out so you had to use them daily, this one I use about once every week or two, and the dyed ombre part of my hair has stayed a beautiful light blonde. I'm sure any kind would do the trick if you're willing to leave it in a bit longer. I do 3-5 minutes for both shampoo and conditioner. OR you can buy gentian violet from the pharmacy, dilute it in a litre of water, and dump it on your head in the shower. The only risk is that if you don't dilute it enough, your hair may get a light shade of purple for a couple days. I stick to shampoos/conditioners to avoid this now!
The benefit to using the shampoo is that you don't have to keep dying and stripping your hair, just use the purpling shampoo and conditioner and it takes it right out, and keeps your hair soft and healthy. Then you only have to dye it when it's time to refresh your roots.
Hope this helps! Love watching your videos. I grew up with Japanese exchanges students from 3-16 years old so I LOVE watching your channel and seeing the people and the culture again.

So... I guess you must be already blonde to get that result with 7.1?
I've got honey blond at the moment and I'm afraid to try it since I think it'll turn out like brown instead of dark ash blond...

I kept having the same problem with my hair. I dyed it blonde and it faded to this coppery orange color which I was not happy with at all. So I dyed it back to med. brown and it looked great for a while.. Then it started fading back to the copper/orange color! Long story short, I had to just let it grow out. Bleck.

I noticed that you tend to dye your hair quite a bit and I was wondering how you keep your hair from drying out with all of the chemicals... I've been thinking of getting highlights in my hair and I was curious what you use (even though my hair is a lot thicker and longer than yours, I'd still like to try it out). I love this hair color on you though Sharla... it looks really good, I could never pull off blonde :D

Sharla in Japan If you read what the scientists team of Paula's Choice wrote in an informational book about beauty myths (+ they quote researches from the field) you will see that there isn't one shampoo in this world that can extend your hair coloration. The same goes for everything else like hair repair etc. They are all terms used in the industry but they are not protected by the law, so any beauty company can use it freely. For hair the only thing that helps is actually cutting it, if your hair-ends have spliss and the only things that can prelong your hair color are staying as much away from the sun as possible and washing it as rare as possible. The last thing can't aply to me because I wash my hair almost every day XD
And by the way since you're in Germany :D If you ever come to Nürnberg / Nuremberg I could give you a free tour and I would take my time for that, even if I'm awfully bussy with my bachelor thessis at the moment XD Have a nice stay in Germany and have lots of fun!
PS: If you ever find the time go and visit Schloss / Castle Neuschwanstein. It's a must see in Germany :)
