    👌 A modern SUDS compliant driveway gets a little freshen up. A SUDS driveway is slightly different to conventional block paving in as much as it has no jointing sand. Instead it has a fine aggregate that flicks you in the face when your'e cleaning.

    My favourite pressure washing YT'er hands down. Professional, efficient, no smack talk, no "look at my latest gadget" BS. Just gets it done, end of. Nice work Phil. What do you do about the gap refilling on these suds blocks? Do you leave it to the client to organise, or does it lose little to nothing, unlike sand and standard blocks? I've looked for this recently as I have a job coming up with these and I can only find it for sale in minimum 850KG bags. I'd appreciate any info re: supply if you know of any nationwide suppliers of smaller quantities.

      Hey OTC, to be honest the customer said he had a few bags. You don't tend to loose massive amounts and you can kind of rinse them back in as you go. I did look for them but noting specific came up in normal size bags. I was told it was just 2-5mm aggregate, not sure. Hurts more than normal block paving 😆

    Great job mate, I would like to discuss using surface cleaners LPM and BAR. I’ve got a 21lpm 200bar pump. I’ve watched some of you’re older videos which you mentioned you have a 23 lpm 250bar pump. , using the surface cleaner on some drives I’ve noticed I have to switch to the turbo nozzle like most people. I’ve been looking into different pumps lpm and bar, how well or would you agree that 30lpm at 250-300bar would be better for block drives? Would love to hear you’re opinion and thoughts…

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  ปีที่แล้ว

      The higher the pressure and flow the better a surface cleaner works. The whirlaways are only good for 250bar, anything higher and you'll need a mosmatic. I now run 350bar at 23lpm and my surface cleaner tears through block paving. Only issues you come across when going above 250bar is components get proper expensive. Unloader valves are mega money and options are limited especially if you want flow sensitive. I've just spent nearly a grand on a flow sensitive unloader for my 350bar machine. You would need a complete new setup not just a pump. The motor on your 200bar machine won't power anything higher.

    Fantastic job!
    Just a quick question.
    I have a 4 gallon/minute, 4200 psi pressure washer.
    I just wonder, when I turn the pressure down on the pressure washer using the unloader valve, do I still get that same 4 gallon/minute waterflow at less pressure?
    Or does turning the pressure down also means losing waterflow?
    Thank you!!!

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will result in less water flow too. If you want less pressure but keep max water flow you just fit a bigger size nozzle and run full throttle. Backing the unloader off has a similar effect as lowering the RPM down.

    Hello mate, great videos as always. Need to pick your brains with regards to sealing block paving drives. I've done two recently and while they looks really nice, the paint roller I use always drags up the sand and spreads it about a bit. I've used my leaf blower to remove excess sand, so just wondering what I'm doing wrong? I've got a normal roller and paint tray.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I stopped doing sealing because of the agro. However I typically spray sealer down as this stops the issues with pickup on the roller. You can't however spray polyurethane sealers only acrylic. You will always get sand pull out with a roller as the sealer is sticky.

    • @pstrad8971
      @pstrad8971 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DirtyDriveAway thanks for the reply mate. So I guess theres no specific roller I can use? But maybe a roller bucket would be better instead of tray. Re a sprayer I guess you'd need a decent back pack sprayer? Shame you've stopped sealing, as some of your videos look brilliant mate

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pstrad8971 you just need a chemical resistant sprayer. I used a gloria 510T as it was stainless and viton. Doesn't matter if you use a bucket or tray it will still pick up the sand.

    Hi mate, love the videos. Have been thinking of getting into this trade as a side bit for some time now.
    Your channel is time served, so there's obvious longevity, but would you say that it is a saturated market at present? Some local research sort of indicates that.
    Cheers!

      I mean there are a lot of people offering this type of work. Unfortunately, a lot are cowboys and don't do it properly. Doing it professionally means good gear and a good reputation. Good gear is really expensive, especially as most professional-grade components are imported as we are no longer in the EU. That makes all the good stuff like Honda, interpump etc a lot more pricey, hence why something that was £1500 two years ago is now over £2000+.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sodium hypochlorite is the chem of choice.

      @eduardosapples1997 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DirtyDriveAway thanks, I've seen some videos with people spraying it on before then washing it off after 30mins and others pressure washing and spraying it on after then leaving it to dry. What's best?

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@eduardosapples1997 personal choice. Doing a pre treat softens the dirt and usually allows the use of lower pressure thus reducing fuel costs. Doing it as a post (after) usually yields a slightly better result and you can use a weaker mix as it has less to do. With the current shortage of chem and the increased cost a post treat is my current method. For it to work as a pre treat you would need a slightly stronger mix usually 3:1. When used as after treat you can go to around 8:1 and still get the same results. If its a large area a pre treat is usually better.
