My biggest complaint about the FGO community as a whole is there are A LOT of people out there that think as soon as a character comes out that is 2% better than another every other option suddenly will brick their account if they use them. Every 6 months its the same old story. Dont roll for summer Musashi space Ishtar is coming out! Dont roll for space Isthar summer Kama is coming out! Dont roll for summer Kama summer Ibuki is coming out! They all still work and will loop a large majority of nodes. Some are better than others in some situations yes but the jerking around about chasing the tip top damage numbers or meta is just tiring.
And like the biggest problem is the fucking waiting time. "Dont pull for kama, just wait until ibuki, its only 1 year". Like i could just pull kama first to help me for that whole fucking year
Fun stuff is they are probably the first ones to roll for whatever new servant comes out. I mean thats kinda "good advice" for new players, but once you have your main looper and support you can pretty much roll for whatever you want, doesnt matter if its dantes/skadi morgan/koyan o whoever arts queen you want. The main perk of fgo is that its an easy to play game, with very little damage check section and not that much of an insane powercrept
Jokes on them I still Grail Boudica to Level 120, "bricking" be damned! Besides, all that meta just leaves people complacent. Reason why I've been able to tear through content, with only Cernunnos being the most difficult fight to beat without Command Spells in recent memory, is that I'm still constantly gimping myself outside of farming for the sake of thematics, so I've learned the more nuanced mechanics and such, and that not only means that I still have never burned out from this game since launch, I'm always able to deal with most challenges easy once I drop the self-limiters.
To be fair I don't think the difference between ibuki and almost anyone else is small, and I will also say part of it isn't necessarily about comparing the servants gameplay, but the opportunity cost of rolling them compared to other options that could serve different purposes overall
Yeah it's like: "Wait don't spend your quartz yet there''ll be a very useful servant coming in 1 year and 8 months" or "This servant isn't bad he is gonna receive a buff 2 years later and get very broken"
Clairvoyance is nice to see what servants are coming up but for me it never makes me skip a servant if someone better is coming since i don't roll for gameplay and roll for the waifu's/husbandos, the people skipping kama for ibuki are missing out.
That's okay but some people feel like like they should save until the "better" servant comes out instead of their waifu or husbando or just characters they like.
While I knew Kama was coming for NA back in 2021, and we didn't have Spish yet, I opted for Spish simply because I like Spish more than Kama. I own NP2 Spish in Na and skipped Kama because I don't really need her, even if Kama is slightly better than Spish. I still rolled for Morgan and Junao (both are at NP2), even though i own an NP5 Raikou, I will still use Raikou over them, and much more now that I know she will have a battery and sustained damage. Hell, next year i will go for only two servants. Bazett because she's hot and I like the mechanics behind her, and Summer Skadi. No one else matters for me next year.
It's a combination of clairvoyance and also that Space Ishtar is now a 2 year old servant who is as you said very comparable to Summer Kama in farming. A lot of players have gone through multiple Space Ishtar banners and multiple GSSRs with Space Ishtar on them so there are a lot of people who have invested in Space Ishtar and Summer Kama just doesn't do enough to set herself apart. Honestly that's a bigger factor that kills Summer Kama for me than knowing Summer Ibuki is coming next year.
very understandable. awkwardly got kama np2 while trying to get summercaenis and now my heavily invested np1 spishtar has been power crept. not gonna complain but there's a strange pain there.
I by an act of God in like 90 SQ pulled off NP 5 summer kama so unfortunately she's waifu for lifu now. I didn't pick the summer kama life, the summer kama life picked me.(seriously I'll likely never pull an SSR again let's be honest.)
Honestly, it would be understandable if the advice to skip a banner to another better banner is several months apart. Like advice to skip S.Musashi or Sp.Ishtar for S.Ibuki since they're only several months apart. But for goodness sake, S.Kama and S.Ibuki are apart for an entire year! A year is enough for stacking a hefty amount of sq, especially since next anniversary giving a large amount of SQs
Clairvoyance is that double-edged blade. But I think the value is there. I wouldn't have been ready for this year if I didn't know what was coming and didn't save up for it. I like Summer Kama. Fun character in the event and a good farmer. Ibuki is there on the horizon. But people can get by with whoever they like the most. Which is why my main focus is for Summer Melusine ;).

I'll still roll for the summer servant mostly because i like their design in the first place, already have Space Ishtar NP3 years ago, still roll for Summer Kama and got NP2, not regret anything, and I will roll for Summer Ibuki. Hands down summer servant drain me well
This is perhaps my biggest issue with servants in this game. To be more precise: AoE farmers. It’s just in the nature of the game that a new farmer needs to somewhat special in comparison to the other so they often end up just being completely better ghan every servant that came before them. This is true Especially for arts loopers i feel like. I think it’s still funny though how people completely stop pulling for characters they like just to wait for this meta servants. I love ishtar, kama and musashi and that is why i pulled for all of them. I however ended up only getting NP1 for any of them bec i knew in all instances that there will be „better“ versions coming later on (i also just so happened to like all of them as well). But if you have them on multiple NP levels, than they are still going to outperform for you
I honestly just rolled summer kama for the fact that she's an avenger servant so I could deal with those ruler bosses easier. Her third form though makes me feel a certain way when she uses her np.
She's still good. If anything quick and buster had many clairvoyance moments that really put into question why to roll them. Arts units don't really fall off. For example xu fuu. She makes you go another 15 bond with arts if you somehow manage to bond 15 castoria and only get more options going forward with f2p arts options with Valkyrie assassin iyo ranmaru etc This makes quick and buster just be a "why" in going for them when options are limited and expensive with only a few outlayers like cu caster and hogen.
To that question the most reliable answer is: "I like my husbando/waifu and I will use it. Why do you care that much, meta slave?!" But jokes aside, the game isnt hard enough (and thankfully PvP doesnt exists) to warrant being obsessed with farming metas, and outside of lottos, farming efficiency isnt exactly relevant So be arts, buster or quick, just use your waifu/husbando and you are going to enjoy the game more. You are more likely than not to simplu brute-force your way instead of getting stuck because you like green rather than blue

Personally i heard of Kama, but instead of Okitan it was Achilles and Sei who were the talk of my town to put it in some way Then again, its rather simple as to why. People simply prefer character over meta. I still say people rolling for Caenis despite Elizabeth Rider being around the corner, same with Okita despite "being quick" and Kama and Achilles despite Ibuki or Taigong ~~even if they do different stuff~~ Thats just how most people roll, in the silent mayority at least

when u have tons of servant's you like what i do is look at my current class roasters and think ''what classes do i need more'' the even if i like others just drop who ever i have over abundence of at the time makes it slightly easier even if it hurts to miss some favs
People are always focused on the next big thing, which takes away the fun of the present. I like Kama as a character and rolled NP3. I'll use her with Fragment of 2004 and this will solve some of her criticism. Also will grail her to lvl100. I may roll for Summer Ibuki next year because I love Raita characters
I don't regret getting my Summer Kama to 120 NP6. She's my #1 favourite servant in the game currently so Ibuki being marginally better basically has 0 value to me. Hell, I don't even know at what point Ibuki beats 120 NP6 Kama.
At that point she may need to be NP5 and level 120 herself, but by then....who cares, just use the one at 120 instead of building another one because some meta asshole told you so
120 and NP6 is hard to beat for any servant without being high leveld too. She is berserker so for most instances Np 5 is probably gonna beat her to it, but that’s still a huge amount of quarts you have to spend
I pulled Kama gladly and with pleasure during this summer Chaldea adventure and I'm using her much more than i thought i would've tbh. Even tho i have Morgan ane Melusine with both Koyanskaya and Oberon i feel somehow more comfortable with Kama avenger as the main farmer. I have all three of em lvl100 oc but I'm pretty much using only Summer Kama lately, maybe becaue i like her aesthetic a lot (that's why I'm not gonna pull for summer Ibuki even tho she's classified as better than Kama i genuinely don't like her art lmao). Basically while i used to switch between Melusine and Morgan until a couple of weeks ago now my team is static on "Double Castoria, Kama Avenger, Miss Crane and oberon". Love watching her Np animation and that big boi damage (especially with overcharge, love looking at that "O.C." near the dmg numbers) she does on the third wave and the "flames of love" mechanic makes me wanna use her face card much more, i also have summer Kiara but i stopped using her for average farming since her refound is kinda meh... I mean not terrible at all but not even great as Kama's. So basically Plushie your clairvoyance ex doesn't work coz Kama is prettier than Ibuki that's it.
Personally I still rolled for Kama, since she helped me quite a lot alongside Achilles and Cú in JP, somewhat as a "thank you" for her She may not be the most broken thing ever, but I like her......also I will be using quick most of the time and I dont care enough for Meta to care for Ibuki, Melusine or whatver Non-percy Arts loopers out there. I WILL USE KAMA AND YOU CANT STOP ME META BROS!!!!! Also, a weird thing with the units I like to use is that they tend to have hard defense and some sort of use outside farming, so i am glad Kama follows that trend

Here is my probably weird take: I'm veteran Dolphin- NA Player/ I have developed most servants on my account and anyone new that joins is instantly 9/9/9 if there is a need. I have farmed my soul away without Waver/Skadi in the previous years. There is simply no great need for me to hoard more materials as long as FGO doesn't introduce another batch of bronze servants, because I don't have enough coins for Appends as reliable sink for materials. So while I don't have universal looper (Not interested in Spisthar, couldn't get S.Kiara since last year even with around 1000 free sq) I don't need the "latest cutting edge efficiency tool for farming". But I'm in market for Avenger as I only have Lobo (and as mentioned no Skadi). So Summer Kama works double duty for me (both farmer and Challenge quests against Rulers) and in that I don't think S. Ibuki will be better pick overall for my account. Yes S.Kama is from what I heard just worse in each specific case, but the sum of tasks she can perform for me outweights single area performance. Also it helps next year summer event that has both S.Skadi as well as Lady Avalon to not roll 3 summer banners as F2P, given adjecency of anniversary banners. I think the bigger reason why people don't roll for s.kama is because she come a little late. People that could run her efficiently usually already have other arts farmer. She come after lb6, 90+ farming node, and buster farming is a thing. Since her role is easily replaceable even without knowing about ibuki, people will not go all in for her.
People also way overrated buster teams. Arts is like only slightly more complex for farming but in return is way more flexible and stronger at CQs if your team can't minturn (which is basically everyone except the whalest whales) And arts didn't ask you to pull yet another new support to do the same thing with red cards that you could already do with blue cards.
Dude Summer Kama has zero issues with 90+, you have plugsuit to either run a single target dps for a 1 enemy wave or bring in someone like Oberon/Reines for more charge and steroids if needed. 90++ is a different story since it's node dependent based on health and amount of enemies per wave.
Exactly. Spishtar had 2 banners before S-Kama released, so many players already had an arts farmer. I already had NP2 Spishtar, so S-kama provided no value.
I love my NP2 summer Kama. My only issue with her is that second Quick card. It’s not even the damage difference or the speed of the animation, I just find that second quick card to be no bueno. Spishtar and summer Ibuki only have one each.
My main goal was Kama, but Okita showed up on a multi meant for ces. Looks like I'll have to save up for her again next year, but I think these next few months shouldn't be too bad for saving

I remember saying this in a few comment sections how clairvoyance really makes your rolls for only gameplay not likeability really put into question Ranmaru and sIbuki really make skama seem like a quarts sink as you'll have options so soon after. I get Ibuki but.....Ranmaru? Really? If you said Habetrot sure, but Ranmaru is just awful💀. As a looper she is really meh and as a unit her kit is just so simplistic. I would argue Salieri as a 3 star has a more interesting kit and stats than her
Clairvoyance didn't kill Kama. She was getting dunked on for being redundant 2 years ago as well. The issue magnified by her sister unit, Okita Alter, being a brand new toy for quick's toolkit that has gone so long without a looping saber.
I would like the second ability to sacrifice the buff of 20% NP damage for 3 turns and in exchange give us 30% NP damage for 1 turn and 30% NP charge, so at least it would have differentiated itself from Ishtar being Kama the first Arts looper that can do 3 turns on irregular Nodes with relative ease
I have Space Ishtar at NP5. Didn’t stop me from rolling Summer Kama to NP4. Mostly because I just love Avengers as a whole, but I also like Kama as a *character*. Now I can run whoever I want while everyone else argues over who’s better.
Im pretty sure people not skipping cause shes bad but rather they just dont like her enough and would rather focus on someone else, ie Ive decided to focus on koyan of the dark since i dont feel like i need another arts dps for farming and im not that much into kama, even a bit disappointed rather than into her tbh. In contrast i dont think ill pull for summer ibuki, dont like her at all and i already have plenty arts dps, not like theres any real need to have the best of the best in this game since theres no competitive content after all.
Summer kama falls in this weird time for me. Because I got Space Ishtar at NP2, and Summer Ibuki, who I like for many reasons comes out next year but I may even save for summer melusine instead because I like Top Gun more then "Top heavy" but i may pull for both because they are both neat
Nah. Buster looping killed Summer Kama. Sure, buster isn't as comfy at lower level nodes, but you don't really need Kama in lower level nodes. Just about any arts looper can be used in those. She brings nothing to the table other than looping for Sakuranerds.
Summer Kama's Charm is probably best used against high health Wave 2 mobs. They have high health, but no debuff resistance. That way you can benefit more from the NP damage up without RNG screwing you over with Wave 3 debuff resistance Servants. I rolled NP1 Summer Kama for pure waifu reasons. I already have an NP3 120 Spishtar (from failing to get Calamity Jane), so I doubt I'll actually use her much after this event is over. All my Kama investment is reserved for regular Kama.
I honestly rolled for her because I was already half-way to pity trying to get Caenis on the banner and I figured why not. Even if I will be going for Summer Ibuki next year, I still think she'll have value until then, plus I do enjoy her character in her own right. Now all I have to do is grail her to 100 and I'll have both Beast 3 summer versions competing for the role of universal arts looper. Heheheheheh.
ironicly kama and Douman were the last servants i was wanting this year the next NEW servant I will be pulling for will be Young Moriarty otherwise saving for a Muramasa or Arjuna alter rerun
I'm in a position where I can say: I don't really need Summer Ibuki-Douji (she is also too powerful and too risky). And for what I need to do, my Lv100 NP2 Summer Kama is more than enough, even when she has to go neutral DMG, which really makes her great, even comparing with my old Lv100 NP1 Summer Musashi. The SQ planning for Summer Ibuki-Douji is being now used for Ruler Scathach-Skadi, as part of the new project "Sunrise Hall", which will be to acquire what is really the most important: support servants (Koyanskaya, Skadi Summer and Oberon).
In retrospective, Summer Ibuki is like getting the equivalent of a Boeing 747 or an Airbus A380 attached to a Saturn V rocket. The fact that she was a glass cannon without having any defence skill was what led me to reject her. And what shocks and worries me is that this game became much of an arms race. There's no notable difficulty spike on farming (ST servants can be used on 90++s), and the only notable spikes have been in Story circuits in my opinion.
Why would it do that if I want both of them equally? Both of them are Super Hot, Great at farming, cool animations, Voiced by great Seiyuu's. If there is one Demerit in here that would be Ibukis character in Heian Kyo, She got Shafted so hard I was pissed on how they Introduced, Develop, and then end character. They better redeem themselves during Tunguska raids tho
I have summer Kama/Kiara and np 2 spishtar and I cycle them out bc character first matters for me. I love using them. The fact I can make lower tiers do the same thing is lovely.
I didn't choose Kama. Kama chose me. I've always been a Kama simp but I already really heavily invested in NP3 Spishtar and I wanted to Prioritize Melusine, Koyan, and Oberon. But then I eventually got all three while only using 2/3 of my budget, so I had about 3 whale packs worth of SQ to spare, which comes out to about 500 SQ. Threw it all at Summer Kama, walked away with NP5. I still can't believe it.
The only reason why I skipped Summer Kama is because I wasn't able to get Koyanskaya, who enables many characters I like to be used more, so I simply can't afford to go all out on Kama's banner. The power difference between her and Ibuki can be solved with investment, so I really don't care about that.
Wins in gameplay, equal in art. But in sprites, I’m sorry, but Summer Ibuki has one of the worst modern sprites in the game. Absolutely loses the sense of balance and flow Saber Ibuki has.
Not Clairvoyance in particular that killed her. It's just that while she's good, she doesn't do much special compared to some of the high-end AoE farmers that already exist (Space Ishtar, Muramasa, Summer Kiara etc.), she also comes right after the LB6 banner gauntlet when most people probably don't have a lot left to roll/spend, as well as the release of competent Buster supporters to finally make the card type competitive for high-end farming. The only people who would roll for Summer Kama would be fans of the character, or people who somehow don't have a strong AoE farmer yet and aren't emptied by LB6, and are looking to pick one up.
At some point, your account will have enough tools to handily tackle all content--at which point you're free to roll for whatever you want. The extreme side of the meta argument with clairvoyance would see you holding onto SQ for a unit that's probably going to be powerecreeped by the time they come out. The other side that disregards meta would see you potentially causing problems for your farming down the line if they lack the units for comfortable grinding. Usually, neither of the extremes are what most people settle on but people *sound* like they are when arguing with each other. Personally, I lean towards the idea that you should ideally get at least one good farming setup or two before dedicating your rolls to your preferred units. No point stressing too much over a fully PvE game by intentionally skipping units you'd otherwise like to have simply because you feel compelled (or someone compelled you) to focus on the latest DPS powercreep. Every DPS including Ibuki will lose their top dog spot one day, so its pointless to act like her being better (one year from now, no less) than the current units is the end-all-be-all when she herself gets the same treatment later. I've already seen some people saying they'd skip Ibuki for Summer Mélusine; some because they really like Mélusine that much more and others because of this fixation on chasing meta while acting like anything weaker is account damage. The Arts Avengers debacle is just one of the more visible and enduring expressions of this problem, and it ultimately is a result of this shitty fanbase lmao Fans truly are the worst thing of any franchise fr fr
If you need an arts looper kama is very serviceable, she's best than ishtar and Ibuki for CQ thanks to her kit (only beaten by S.Melusine due to Ruler class). Yes Ibuki is stronger, heck maybe even Melusine, but Kama is worth the shot rn since they are still very far away
The charm whiff is still far worse than Spishtar's skill 3 whiff and you'll never convince me otherwise. Built in failure chance > completely random failure chance
I think it is fine because if you cash in your sq for the future banners in 2 years you are leaving a gap in your account capabilities for the next 2 years

I love Kama way more but unfortunately... Ibuki is paired with my favorite 4 star of the summer 7 lineup... Erice. I want Erice badly but Ibuki is honestly enough to detract me from even considering it. I might just focus on Summer Skadi to open up more quick setups then focus on Erice after. Proto Merlin would be nice but OG Merlin does enough if you need him. Then Summer Kama returns in the same timeframe. Yeah, I'll focus Kama again instead. The plan was focus 1 copy of Skadi, then go for Kama copies.
I have Spishtar NP2, put grails and gold fous on her and I still got NP2 Summer Kama because... I like her. Let's be real, after a couple of years even us FTP poors have the luxury of rolling for love.
I find Clairvoyance to be a sweet benefit for people like me who only want to roll for very specific characters. Like I have my 120 NP5 Muramasa who can farm or kill almost whatever I want, so right now I'm only planning to roll for proto Merlin, Kirei and Draco. In two years I can safely plan my rolls for just these 3 targets and be relieved of stress 🤗
I don’t understand skipping waifus and husbando in endgame especially how old global and jp are. I have all the meta already since pity exist you just need to keep enough for 1 emergency pity ie the Incase BREAK THE GLASS servants like castoria otherwise just focus on npping someone to 90++ or roll for fun.
If only there were more charm characters against females that would make it way more useful to be immune to since you only really have humanoid charmers or phantom
And that's the reason I'm not going for Meta units. I just want to play my game with my Waifus and husbandos. If my favorite character is weak I don't care, I really wanted it and I got it. Not saying that go after meta is bad or something. Everyone has their own style of what they think is best for themselves and what causes the most fun.

That's okay but some people feel like like they should save until the "better" servant comes out instead of their waifu or husbando or just characters they like.
While I knew Kama was coming for NA back in 2021, and we didn't have Spish yet, I opted for Spish simply because I like Spish more than Kama. I own NP2 Spish in Na and skipped Kama because I don't really need her, even if Kama is slightly better than Spish.
I still rolled for Morgan and Junao (both are at NP2), even though i own an NP5 Raikou, I will still use Raikou over them, and much more now that I know she will have a battery and sustained damage.
Hell, next year i will go for only two servants. Bazett because she's hot and I like the mechanics behind her, and Summer Skadi. No one else matters for me next year.
It's a combination of clairvoyance and also that Space Ishtar is now a 2 year old servant who is as you said very comparable to Summer Kama in farming. A lot of players have gone through multiple Space Ishtar banners and multiple GSSRs with Space Ishtar on them so there are a lot of people who have invested in Space Ishtar and Summer Kama just doesn't do enough to set herself apart. Honestly that's a bigger factor that kills Summer Kama for me than knowing Summer Ibuki is coming next year.

Honestly, it would be understandable if the advice to skip a banner to another better banner is several months apart. Like advice to skip S.Musashi or Sp.Ishtar for S.Ibuki since they're only several months apart. But for goodness sake, S.Kama and S.Ibuki are apart for an entire year! A year is enough for stacking a hefty amount of sq, especially since next anniversary giving a large amount of SQs
Clairvoyance is that double-edged blade. But I think the value is there. I wouldn't have been ready for this year if I didn't know what was coming and didn't save up for it.
I like Summer Kama. Fun character in the event and a good farmer. Ibuki is there on the horizon. But people can get by with whoever they like the most. Which is why my main focus is for Summer Melusine ;).

This is perhaps my biggest issue with servants in this game. To be more precise: AoE farmers. It’s just in the nature of the game that a new farmer needs to somewhat special in comparison to the other so they often end up just being completely better ghan every servant that came before them. This is true Especially for arts loopers i feel like.
I think it’s still funny though how people completely stop pulling for characters they like just to wait for this meta servants. I love ishtar, kama and musashi and that is why i pulled for all of them. I however ended up only getting NP1 for any of them bec i knew in all instances that there will be „better“ versions coming later on (i also just so happened to like all of them as well). But if you have them on multiple NP levels, than they are still going to outperform for you
I honestly just rolled summer kama for the fact that she's an avenger servant so I could deal with those ruler bosses easier. Her third form though makes me feel a certain way when she uses her np.
She's still good. If anything quick and buster had many clairvoyance moments that really put into question why to roll them. Arts units don't really fall off.
For example xu fuu. She makes you go another 15 bond with arts if you somehow manage to bond 15 castoria and only get more options going forward with f2p arts options with Valkyrie assassin iyo ranmaru etc
This makes quick and buster just be a "why" in going for them when options are limited and expensive with only a few outlayers like cu caster and hogen.
To that question the most reliable answer is: "I like my husbando/waifu and I will use it. Why do you care that much, meta slave?!"
But jokes aside, the game isnt hard enough (and thankfully PvP doesnt exists) to warrant being obsessed with farming metas, and outside of lottos, farming efficiency isnt exactly relevant
So be arts, buster or quick, just use your waifu/husbando and you are going to enjoy the game more. You are more likely than not to simplu brute-force your way instead of getting stuck because you like green rather than blue

People are always focused on the next big thing, which takes away the fun of the present. I like Kama as a character and rolled NP3. I'll use her with Fragment of 2004 and this will solve some of her criticism. Also will grail her to lvl100. I may roll for Summer Ibuki next year because I love Raita characters

I don't regret getting my Summer Kama to 120 NP6. She's my #1 favourite servant in the game currently so Ibuki being marginally better basically has 0 value to me. Hell, I don't even know at what point Ibuki beats 120 NP6 Kama.
At that point she may need to be NP5 and level 120 herself, but by then....who cares, just use the one at 120 instead of building another one because some meta asshole told you so
120 and NP6 is hard to beat for any servant without being high leveld too. She is berserker so for most instances Np 5 is probably gonna beat her to it, but that’s still a huge amount of quarts you have to spend

I pulled Kama gladly and with pleasure during this summer Chaldea adventure and I'm using her much more than i thought i would've tbh. Even tho i have Morgan ane Melusine with both Koyanskaya and Oberon i feel somehow more comfortable with Kama avenger as the main farmer. I have all three of em lvl100 oc but I'm pretty much using only Summer Kama lately, maybe becaue i like her aesthetic a lot (that's why I'm not gonna pull for summer Ibuki even tho she's classified as better than Kama i genuinely don't like her art lmao). Basically while i used to switch between Melusine and Morgan until a couple of weeks ago now my team is static on "Double Castoria, Kama Avenger, Miss Crane and oberon". Love watching her Np animation and that big boi damage (especially with overcharge, love looking at that "O.C." near the dmg numbers) she does on the third wave and the "flames of love" mechanic makes me wanna use her face card much more, i also have summer Kiara but i stopped using her for average farming since her refound is kinda meh... I mean not terrible at all but not even great as Kama's.
So basically Plushie your clairvoyance ex doesn't work coz Kama is prettier than Ibuki that's it.
TL;DR: Waifus are based on preference anyway. So go for anyone you like, don't need to degrade other people's opinion

Here is my probably weird take:
I'm veteran Dolphin- NA Player/ I have developed most servants on my account and anyone new that joins is instantly 9/9/9 if there is a need. I have farmed my soul away without Waver/Skadi in the previous years. There is simply no great need for me to hoard more materials as long as FGO doesn't introduce another batch of bronze servants, because I don't have enough coins for Appends as reliable sink for materials. So while I don't have universal looper (Not interested in Spisthar, couldn't get S.Kiara since last year even with around 1000 free sq) I don't need the "latest cutting edge efficiency tool for farming". But I'm in market for Avenger as I only have Lobo (and as mentioned no Skadi). So Summer Kama works double duty for me (both farmer and Challenge quests against Rulers) and in that I don't think S. Ibuki will be better pick overall for my account. Yes S.Kama is from what I heard just worse in each specific case, but the sum of tasks she can perform for me outweights single area performance. Also it helps next year summer event that has both S.Skadi as well as Lady Avalon to not roll 3 summer banners as F2P, given adjecency of anniversary banners.

I think the bigger reason why people don't roll for s.kama is because she come a little late. People that could run her efficiently usually already have other arts farmer. She come after lb6, 90+ farming node, and buster farming is a thing. Since her role is easily replaceable even without knowing about ibuki, people will not go all in for her.
People also way overrated buster teams. Arts is like only slightly more complex for farming but in return is way more flexible and stronger at CQs if your team can't minturn (which is basically everyone except the whalest whales) And arts didn't ask you to pull yet another new support to do the same thing with red cards that you could already do with blue cards.
Dude Summer Kama has zero issues with 90+, you have plugsuit to either run a single target dps for a 1 enemy wave or bring in someone like Oberon/Reines for more charge and steroids if needed.
90++ is a different story since it's node dependent based on health and amount of enemies per wave.
Exactly. Spishtar had 2 banners before S-Kama released, so many players already had an arts farmer. I already had NP2 Spishtar, so S-kama provided no value.
I love my NP2 summer Kama. My only issue with her is that second Quick card. It’s not even the damage difference or the speed of the animation, I just find that second quick card to be no bueno. Spishtar and summer Ibuki only have one each.
My main goal was Kama, but Okita showed up on a multi meant for ces. Looks like I'll have to save up for her again next year, but I think these next few months shouldn't be too bad for saving

I would like the second ability to sacrifice the buff of 20% NP damage for 3 turns and in exchange give us 30% NP damage for 1 turn and 30% NP charge, so at least it would have differentiated itself from Ishtar being Kama the first Arts looper that can do 3 turns on irregular Nodes with relative ease

Nah. Buster looping killed Summer Kama. Sure, buster isn't as comfy at lower level nodes, but you don't really need Kama in lower level nodes. Just about any arts looper can be used in those. She brings nothing to the table other than looping for Sakuranerds.

Summer Kama's Charm is probably best used against high health Wave 2 mobs. They have high health, but no debuff resistance. That way you can benefit more from the NP damage up without RNG screwing you over with Wave 3 debuff resistance Servants.
I rolled NP1 Summer Kama for pure waifu reasons. I already have an NP3 120 Spishtar (from failing to get Calamity Jane), so I doubt I'll actually use her much after this event is over. All my Kama investment is reserved for regular Kama.

I honestly rolled for her because I was already half-way to pity trying to get Caenis on the banner and I figured why not. Even if I will be going for Summer Ibuki next year, I still think she'll have value until then, plus I do enjoy her character in her own right. I'm in a position where I can say: I don't really need Summer Ibuki-Douji (she is also too powerful and too risky). And for what I need to do, my Lv100 NP2 Summer Kama is more than enough, even when she has to go neutral DMG, which really makes her great, even comparing with my old Lv100 NP1 Summer Musashi.
The SQ planning for Summer Ibuki-Douji is being now used for Ruler Scathach-Skadi, as part of the new project "Sunrise Hall", which will be to acquire what is really the most important: support servants (Koyanskaya, Skadi Summer and Oberon).
In retrospective, Summer Ibuki is like getting the equivalent of a Boeing 747 or an Airbus A380 attached to a Saturn V rocket. The fact that she was a glass cannon without having any defence skill was what led me to reject her.
And what shocks and worries me is that this game became much of an arms race. There's no notable difficulty spike on farming (ST servants can be used on 90++s), and the only notable spikes have been in Story circuits in my opinion.

I've always been a Kama simp but I already really heavily invested in NP3 Spishtar and I wanted to Prioritize Melusine, Koyan, and Oberon.
But then I eventually got all three while only using 2/3 of my budget, so I had about 3 whale packs worth of SQ to spare, which comes out to about 500 SQ.
Threw it all at Summer Kama, walked away with NP5. I still can't believe it.
The only reason why I skipped Summer Kama is because I wasn't able to get Koyanskaya, who enables many characters I like to be used more, so I simply can't afford to go all out on Kama's banner. The power difference between her and Ibuki can be solved with investment, so I really don't care about that.

Not Clairvoyance in particular that killed her. It's just that while she's good, she doesn't do much special compared to some of the high-end AoE farmers that already exist (Space Ishtar, Muramasa, Summer Kiara etc.), she also comes right after the LB6 banner gauntlet when most people probably don't have a lot left to roll/spend, as well as the release of competent Buster supporters to finally make the card type competitive for high-end farming. The only people who would roll for Summer Kama would be fans of the character, or people who somehow don't have a strong AoE farmer yet and aren't emptied by LB6, and are looking to pick one up.
At some point, your account will have enough tools to handily tackle all content--at which point you're free to roll for whatever you want.
The extreme side of the meta argument with clairvoyance would see you holding onto SQ for a unit that's probably going to be powerecreeped by the time they come out. The other side that disregards meta would see you potentially causing problems for your farming down the line if they lack the units for comfortable grinding. Usually, neither of the extremes are what most people settle on but people *sound* like they are when arguing with each other.
Personally, I lean towards the idea that you should ideally get at least one good farming setup or two before dedicating your rolls to your preferred units. No point stressing too much over a fully PvE game by intentionally skipping units you'd otherwise like to have simply because you feel compelled (or someone compelled you) to focus on the latest DPS powercreep. Every DPS including Ibuki will lose their top dog spot one day, so its pointless to act like her being better (one year from now, no less) than the current units is the end-all-be-all when she herself gets the same treatment later.
I've already seen some people saying they'd skip Ibuki for Summer Mélusine; some because they really like Mélusine that much more and others because of this fixation on chasing meta while acting like anything weaker is account damage. The Arts Avengers debacle is just one of the more visible and enduring expressions of this problem, and it ultimately is a result of this shitty fanbase lmao

If you need an arts looper kama is very serviceable, she's best than ishtar and Ibuki for CQ thanks to her kit (only beaten by S.Melusine due to Ruler class). Yes Ibuki is stronger, heck maybe even Melusine, but Kama is worth the shot rn since they are still very far away

I might just focus on Summer Skadi to open up more quick setups then focus on Erice after. Proto Merlin would be nice but OG Merlin does enough if you need him.
Then Summer Kama returns in the same timeframe. Yeah, I'll focus Kama again instead.

Like I have my 120 NP5 Muramasa who can farm or kill almost whatever I want, so right now I'm only planning to roll for proto Merlin, Kirei and Draco.
In two years I can safely plan my rolls for just these 3 targets and be relieved of stress 🤗

And that's the reason I'm not going for Meta units. I just want to play my game with my Waifus and husbandos. If my favorite character is weak I don't care, I really wanted it and I got it. Not saying that go after meta is bad or something. Everyone has their own style of what they think is best for themselves and what causes the most fun.
