    Besides being immortal, Death like the rest of the Endless is omniscient but she also has the power of Nigh-Omnipresence. Being Death, she is everywhere on Earth at any moment, she also is the most powerful of all her siblings including Destiny.

    • @DeepFriedFrenz112
      @DeepFriedFrenz112 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Yep. It's even implied that not even the furies can approach her. She's beyond any rule.

    • @yrenekurtz5268
      @yrenekurtz5268 ปีที่แล้ว +54

      Yup, In the comics (which I guess also applies to the show's version) she is universal in reach, she literally is everywhere at once. Every time a creature dies, no matter how big or small, no matter how far away it is, she is there to serve as a guide. I recall a comic where Lex Luthor had a near-death experience and meets her, and he questions her about the recent Black Lantern event where this Nekron guy claimed to be the incarnation of death and threatned all life on a galactic scale. Hilariously, her response was just a shrug with a pouty face anjd saying "seemed like you guys were having fun, no big deal", like she was so above all that superhero crap that it barely registered on her radar.

    Seeing how differently people respond to death is fascinating. An old man, who lived a good life, asking for more time. To the young “junkie” who goes happily, willingly, ready to leave. I pray death is this beautiful and kind when it’s my time.

    I would love to believe that when Morpheus and Hob met up again, they spent a longer time together. Reminiscing about the missed meeting and even everything from when they first met. That's usually what happens when old friends meet after not seeing each other for a long time.

      True, why should an enternal entity be bound by human morality or sentiments? Their entire frame of reference would be extremely different from that of mortal humans. Also, 10,000 years to an eternal being would be like nothing. Dream being bound for 100 years would be like getting stuck for a few hours to a being who has always existed.

    I love how they all miss the fact that the bits of background conversation happening in the bar each time they meet reflects the idea of how while some things change, some things remain the same. It's something Gaiman put into the comic book panels intentionally.

    It was interesting to see from the get-go, who only watches the series and who knew the story already from either comic or audiobook. Ranging from does he know her to mouthing the dialogue word for word, because this adaptation actually did a great job with the source material. So many key things are taken straight from there. Really well done,can't wait for the next seasons.

    13:16 the Endless are kind of like the laws of the universe, without them the universe wouldn't function. Technically it goes The Presence (God) > archangels Michael, Samael (Lucifer's real name), and Gabriel in current canon Lucifer is the only one left (Gabriela and Michael died, and God left the DC universe)m Elaine Belloc (Michael's Daughter) is basically taken over gods role, her and Lucifer are the two most powerful beings, after the Archangels you have The Endless in the hierarchy.

    Death is psychopomp which means the “guide of souls”. Every mythology has their own psychopomps. Thanatos and Charon are psychopomps in Greek Mythology. The Valkyries in Norse mythology. Anubis in Greek Mythology.
    Death of the Endless is just one of many psychopomps of DC comics but she is the most important one. She even appears as H’ronmeer, Martian death god, to J’onn J’onzz
