The protagonist is a sith , the girl fighting jedi, s not about Jedi, is about the rise of Sith when Jedi dominated everything is in High Republic era.
The lightsaber in the poster does have blood coming out of it because when a Jedi turns to the dark side their kyber crystal starts to bleed which makes it red.
It is a hundred years in the past.

This is before the prequels, 100 years before ‘The Phantom Menace’ , at the end of the high republic.
In phantom menace, when Qui gon is talking w the Jedi council about the attacker being sith, most don’t believe him. Qui gon went against the council often, they disagreed a lot, making him less reliable to the council’s eyes. Mundi says sith haven’t been seen in a millennia, Windu says they would’ve known. Jedi got too confident, while Sith were right there plotting. Jedi was shown to have many errors, even planet Kamino was erased from the archives. A story 100 years ago could’ve easily been erased or forgotten, especially with the Jedi being over confident.
People are whipping it apart for this but it’s great. It makes Qui Gon so much wiser, and shows why the Jedi were weak before they fell. And in a way, that kinda makes Palpatine seem smaller if the Sith were secretly planning a takeover for hundreds of years. That means he’s just the tip of the long Sith Speer slowly and steadily thrown at the Jedi through time.
The Acolyte looks awesome! I'm very excited to see where they take the premise of the show because it sounds really interesting to me so far!

From what i heard also this takes place 100 years before ep 1. During end of high republic. And also what i love about it is that this is new territory we havent seen yet. Im also excited and cant wait to see it but also like any movie i go in with clear mind and dont let anything from toxic idiots hinder my thoughts and have fun and. Relax and enjoy.
Absolutely agree! It's like people have channels now just to hate and bash on any and all things "not this channel of course " but it's like hate-watching things is a thing now. I just go into each thing I see with a good attitude and not judge it on things I didn't like. Especially after a 1 minute trailer.

This is set towards the end of the High Republic era a hundred years before the movies and the reason the jedi were so unprepared is because they never encountered a sith before so I think in order to not mess with the continuity either all those jedi die or they cover it up

@@user-pi1vx4ee8m They also covered up the Nameless in the High Republic books, who were a really serious threat for the Jedi, so it is not beyond them.
Denial is also a strong force when you are facing an ancient foe that is believed to be extinct for over a millennium.

I wonder if we're going to encounter or get a mention of the Nihil in the series. It is set 100 years after the phase 1 High Republic novels (those took place around 232 to 230 BBY i believe, The Acolyte is 132 BBY) but we don't know what happened to them yet.

Screen Rant is reporting that this story takes place about 100 years before the Phantom Menace towards the end of the High Republic era. Yoda would be a little over 800 years old at this time, so he could make a cameo and possibly Master Senube too along with other alien characters like Plo Koon, Ki Adi Mundi, or Saesee Tiin since we see the Jedi Temple in the trailer; one would think that the prominent Jedi like Yoda would be involved on some level.
EDIT:
Keep in mind that the Jedi were high on their success when Ki-Adi-Mundi said that. We know that Bane created the rule of two and his line of descendants kept things that way up until Palpatine. Any Jedi that come in contact with a Sith most likely die in this series to help keep continuity intact--the trailer starts off with someone saying "someone's killing Jedi," so maybe the trailer is trying to tell us something =)

Guys, this takes place at the end of the High Republic (100 years BBY, or ~60 years BTPM). It's at the end of the High Republic because the Sith comes in and wrecks shit.

We can have Sith and still have the Jedi believe the Sith are extinct. Not all Dark Side users are Sith, so the Jedi could just believe they are a Dark Sider, and not specifically a Sith.
From playing Knights of the Old Republic, an acolyte is a Padawan of a Sith
The part of all jedi being thrown a way, is the girl she will be a powerful sith is not a spoiler. Because she is the protagonist is the first production with Sith perspective not Jedi.
The hilt is definetly not Vader's but does remarkibly look similar to Darth Sidious lightsaber with the gold and silver plate design
So I am thinking maybe Sidious hilt design took sone influence from his former master Darth Plagiues light saber hilt design or perhaps even from Darth Plageuis master Darth Tenebrius
As Sidiois/Palpatine being human wouldn't be alive 100 years before the prequels but potenially Plageius or Tenebrius might be alive and kicking putting in motion the Soth Grand plan to wipe the jedi

Nice hate. Drop the 'o' and 't'. One of the things that made Tim Burton's/Michelle Pfieffer's Catwoman the best in my opinion.
I don't know if it's actual sith but I'd say at the very least the bad character could be considered a follower of the sith philosophy if she's rockin the red lightsaber and killing Jedi. Remember Sith originally was a race, but the goals of that race was eventually highjacked by their followers and thus the Sith Empire as we know it was born, (at this point Sith were just people who followed the Sith Code) and at that point it divorced itself from the actual Sith species (mainly because the majority of the Sith race died out), so I would still consider someone who follows the dark side at the very least a Sith Apologist lol.

Another craptacular looking Star Wars show.
This trailer left me feeling empty. Judging by the trailer, the jedi are at the height of their power. But ultimately, get wiped (or nearly) out. How many times have we seen jedi acting stupid? It's repetitive. However, visually, this looks good. But not sold.
You have to know this is a hundred years before the movies and the jedi have never seen a sith in centuries so of course they're unprepared and they either have to get killed or when they defeat the sith and he or she escapes they just cover it up probably under Yoda's orders as the grandmaster
@lordfoul6259 Exactly my point. In The Phantom Menace, Ki-Adi Mundi stated the sith have been extinct. So this is a contradiction. But judging by what you are saying, Yoda was equally as stupid. If the jedi in High Republic are killed in droves. Wouldn't Yoda and other jedi have a plan in case that wouldn't happen? Answer is no. Because Palpatine ran rings around the jedi. Just like seemingly, this sith or suths are doing to this jedi. Honestly, I'm sick of seeing jedi acting stupid and weak.
@@HellfireClub242we're all assuming that the villain of this piece is a Sith, or that everyone who learn they are a Sith survives. There are plenty of being in that galaxy capable of killing Jedi.
The showrunner has said to not make too many assumptions about what's going on, and I suspect "red lightsaber = Sith" is one of them.

These are jedi at the height of their powers. But are getting owned by a space pirate?!. Honestly, apart from Qui-Gon Jinn, jedis are just asking to be beaten.
@@HellfireClub242 it feels like you're conflating "height of their powers" with "overwhelming force." Jedi aren't all unstoppable combat monsters, I suspect some of them do everything they can to avoid harming others.
And really, that might be the point. How else would they have been so easily defeated by the Clone Army? They got complacent.
