I feel really bad for all the women who went through these experiences.
Here in Mexico, there is another way to steal a woman's purse or wallet and it consists of two ladies (believe it or not) who close your way with their carts inside the supermarket.
The one on the front pretends to be clumsy while the one on the back is trying to reach out for the purse or the wallet. This happened to one of my mom's friends, she almost got her wallet stolen like that but luckily she was able to get it back intact because she noticed that the lady behind her threw the wallet on the floor.
I know that you mentioned that you keep your cards on the front compartment but I would advise that you keep it way closer to you. For example an inside pocket in your pants or on another slim wallet in your jeans front pockets. I usually do this and keep my bag just as a prop. This way they're only stealing wet wipes, hands sanitizer, water, a pen and a notebook.

That is a very good tip! As far as someone stealing cards out of my waste pack, I am never in crowds where people get close enough to pick pocket or strangers touch, but if I did was on crowded streets or lines that would definitely be a concern!

Thank you for putting the videos in of the people stealing. It really brings the point home! Good ideas.

Yeah the videos show how easily it could happen to us.

Wow! Thank you for sharing this. I never knew that things like this can happen anytime and anywhere. My heart breaks to those women who were victimized by this horrendous incidence.
Information like this should be taught in school along with other self-defense skills particulary for women.
I should enroll my daughters to some self-defense class around my area once this pandemic is over🤞🏼 but for now, I know PRAYER WORKS.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Such a valuable information and tips. May you be safe and bless.

Maybe show your daughters some purse snatching videos -- seeing is believing. Also having a simple plan of action for various scenarios is super important -- without a plan people very often "freeze" because their brain function is reduced dramatically once the adrenaline hits.

    That last clip, OMG!
I didn't know carrying a handbag across the body is that dangerous, thank you!
(Guess Austria is too safe, which is curse and luck at the same time).
Nice little knife and very creative wallet btw!

For a long time I haven't cared anymore about being polite to strangers that want something. No way I would approach a car. I'll shout directions from 2 meters away if the person is friendly. Sometimes I shop at night to use a restroom at a parking lot where there isn't a gas station, just cars and other people. If I see another woman alone I wait untill she is safe in her car before I drive off. When I approach my car I make sure I see both sides of my car and only when it's clear I open the doors. But Germany is generally very safe. Still, always be careful and don't give criminals and opening.
    Thanks fir for the video.
Interesting to see a womens edc.

I have a cross body pacsafe. They have wire inside the fabric so it's impossible to cut easily. I'm 5'11 so I'm sturdy enough that they're going to have a hard time getting it off me. I usually just keep my card holder in my pocket though.

so it's still a purse, but a smaller purse.

I almost never carry a purse because they bug my shoulder and I just don't want too. I knew purse snatching was a thing but I didn't realize it could be like that. I live that you bring cordage in case you find a dog in need of help. Both my dogs are rescues.

Can you have pepper spray or stun guns where you live? A knife just seems like something someone could get away from you pretty easily and then hurt you with severely - maybe even fatally. Good for you with the dogs - I have quite a few myself.

We can carry concealed firearms where I live but firearms are heavy and require bulky clothes. The knife isn't a risk at all, when held the only part that is exposed is the 2" razor sharp blade and no one would want to grab that, plus it is practically invisible. I mainly carry it because there seems to be an increase in "ghetto beat down videos" with female attackers targeting other random women and they always force the victims head down as they pummel them, in that position a small blade is about the only possible defense.

@@anonz975 an assailant would not need (or want) to grab the blade, if they get a hold of your wrist, they can pressure you to release it yourself. Love that little knife though and super impressed with your DIY to make the kit practical.

Love your EDC ...but still considered putting something's on your person for another level or layer of protection!!!

    • @anonz975

Thanks, yes I used to carry concealed but then moved to a small much safer town (where everyone else carries instead). Though you are right I should at least renew my permit.
