A perfect metaphor, for going for what you want in life. I remember seeing the finished product in a clip of him nailing this move...its amazing finding the FULL journey/process of what got him there, make sure you find/keep those in your life who support you IN your journey/process...not those who only show up and clap when you succeed. Big respect to Greyson for his persistence, obsession, passion & sheer drive for the art.
@@souldiarrhea ok cool. He just kickflipped a 12 foot drop into the hip so they should be giving him some $$ for that. No? You’re the fool long before me.
Watching this live on Bucky's channel was terrifying. No one wants to see a broken leg, I thought one try came close to a break, but he absolutely nailed it in the end. Awesome.
Stunning really that Greyson Fletcher can do this at almost every event. Shut down the entire thing to repeatedly attempt an insane trick and in the end, given the time... Land it in legendary fashion. He feeds skateboarding as all our gnarly heroes ever have. It is ridiculous in so many ways. One way maybe unseen, is bringing street skating to these events and by street skating I mean the process of throwing a trick at an object until it either sticks, you give up or slam so bad everyone instinctively gasps and you come back later. The war of skateboarding. This form of skating is counter to the contest idea of having your tricks on lock. In a way here, we see the continued destruction of reverent static dogma for all out raw thrill and hope, this feeling keeps skating alive. No one should lament the destruction of the Combi under the same reasoning. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately...) the need for "content" on all sides both feeds and robs skateboarding simultaneously as seen by the thirst on every face. Like seeing someone robbing a corpse, they are at least not the murderer. Seeing Bucky Lasek and Christian Hosoi, amongst all the other real and/or fake stoke being projected at Fletcher, the arbitrary reverence, the mountain dew commercial of it all. Even Chris Gregson, arguably one of the only people there that should have a camera in hand, has a vested interest in this whole routine. A self-replicating routine practiced now across all channels and immediately formed as a copy of the real moment before it even happens. Even Steve Van Doren knows he has to posture for multiple cameras when fist bumping Fletcher. As though any of these fist bumps are a guarantee that Fletcher will have his healthcare paid. When the next event happens I hope Greyson Fletcher is compensated at least as much as Evel Knievel ever was, or else he is being robbed in broad daylight to the cheers of a crowd.
He's a Gladiator bro, morituri te salutant. He's doing it for himself, for what I gather for interviews I've seen or read from him, he needs this, it's his own fuel in this fucked up world
@@jp13834 Sure thing, I grew up entertaining crowds, I get it. But that has little to do with the orbiting intentions of all those around him and the slow spiral of skate industry around into an unintended parody of itself.

I always find gaping into the flat bottom of the bowl super tacky and lame, like whats the point. but gaping into the transition of the bowl is so fucking cool to me. I dont know why but landing on that tiny transition is so gnarly. like you have to actually aim for something and be ready to shift your weight quickly. That was an amazing stunt especially bc of how deep that bowl truly is
+1. I've seen people tre-flip into the flat bottom at Venice Beach. I mean, what's the point of being in an iconic bowl, if you ignore every transition? One added difficulty of landing into transition is that you start to see your landing really late, and your view is blocked for a long time by the coping. I know this was supposed to be gnarly, and it definitely was. Still, it hurts to watch him land almost on flat repeatedly, and hype himself by giving himself chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
At beginning I was confused, this isn't very big!?! But then that first try and he just keeps dropping... Optical Illusion much? That's just nuts. God I love skating!!!
Bowls are almost never impressive on video, especially not when viewed from above. But the combi bowl is huge, and just dropping in at this location is already pretty sketchy.
THAT THUMBNAIL IS CLASSIC. THE SKATE PARTS ARE SO DANG GOOD. JUST SUCH AN AMAZING SKATER. I AM THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED DUDE. THAT LANDING IS INSANE LIKE THE TITLE SAYS. THAT IS TRULY AMAZING. YOU HAVE SOME GOOD LEGS ON YOU MAN. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU DUDE.

Greyson fletcher is one of the most underrated skaters. I saw him skate live once and was blown away by his power and style.

What a friggen BEAST. The Fletcher Family Keeps Pushing Progression Forward!!!
it may look like he tried multiple times, but in reality he was just waiting for the soundtrack to be perfect.
Almost landed it on that “UHHH” opening of the song. 🔥🔥🔥
If that was the case, why wasn't Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega playing?

Greyson's always been one of the sickest pro's 🔥
all the way back to his grandpa, the gnarliest family.
Fkn jumpin it over and over in the cons is just a testament on its own to someone’s sheer will lol
When you got Bucky lasek yelling after the land you know it’s special
Phelps would be so psyched!! Keep chucking Greyson!
The fact that he just doesn't stop going. It's like watching a marathon. I got tired just watched 😂
Such a massive boost to surf + skate culture he is. All my respect, Greyson. Rrrraaaaaaaaaggghhh!!!!!!!
It's amazing at how much impact he can take over and over again at every event he's at, and then some.
Was a big fan of his dad when I was in SoCal surfing circles. Stoked to see Greyson continue to be as gnarly as he was as a grom.

Landing into the transition is also what let him it try so many times. If he was landing on flat from that height every bail would hurt more and more.
How often do you gape and are there pics?😅
I concur... gaping to flat is whack.
