Quest 3 at $499 will NEVER have advanced features like eye tracking. PSVR 2 doesn't just have eye tracking. It has Tobii eyetracking allowing you to interact with objects in the game and has many other in game functions. All the people who say they will buy Quest 3 are either stupid or are trolls . LOL
@@trumplostlol3007 PSVR 2 only works with Playstation tho... so it misses so many games and functionallity in the software department that it's just no competition for a PCVR headset. And eyetracking is also not really an "advanced feature". The tech is on the consumer market forever. And as you can see with the PSVR 2 which is pretty much in the same pricerange it's definetly possible to integrate that feature in that pricerange.
@@trumplostlol3007 I don't think so. It's a fraction of the cost, and for those who own a PC, even the quest 2 beats PSVR, even for an equal price, in my humble opinion. I like the color pass through on the quest 3, but it still won't have face and eye tracking. The default quest 3 head strap doesn't look any better either. I don't like where they put the usb-c port either on the quest 3. The quest pro is more my speed.
The Quest 2 has had major updates years after it first came out. Most likely the Quest 3 is built to be future proof too. The Quest 3 will likely get cool updates like the Quest 2 though out the lifespan of the device. Since Apple released the Vision Pro, I'm sure those updates will be frequent and steady for the Quest 3; so Meta can remind everyone how much better value the Quest is compared to the $3500 Apple hmd.
You can’t really compare values between the Oculus 3 and the Apple Vision Pro because they’re fundamentally different devices aimed at different consumers. Sure, they’re both headsets, which naturally invites comparisons. But doing so would be like making the comparison between a Chromebook with a standard definition display to a MacBook Pro with a Retina display just because they’re both laptops. One will always be superior over the other no matter how many updates the inferior product can offer. Comparing the Apple Vision Pro to devices like the Varjo X3 or HoloLens 2 offers a better perspective. In this light, the AVP is quite competitive and a great value since it’s expected to offer superior performance over those two.
Yes, you buy what you want, and if it not a scam , you get what you pay for. Apple built there headset for the imagination of thousands developers to create whatever they deem important, and that’s what’s so appealing about Apples approach, their platform goes beyond playing games, and watching movies.
Great review. Do you also expect the current apps to upgrade to the MR experience for Quest 3? I would like both the VR and MR alternatives as a user. Greedy me !!!
Hi Naysy my name is Kaley and I’m turning 13 on July 4th and i am so excited I bought the quest 2 on my last birthday once I had enough money and I have loved it ever since mostly playing beat saber I still have all the basic and the original head strap but I hope to get enough money to get a new one and I love watching you videos and hope to make my own one day. I love playing songs on my beat saber and buying random songs I like and when I watch your videos I feel so inspired and maybe one day I’ll have enough money to buy the quest 3 I hope you see this because I want to thank you for how much you inspired me❤
I dont really play much but.a little more clarity, color passthrough, and a bit lighter/more balanced weight and the future potential with updates make it an easy purchase decision for me. Plus selling my 2nfor a few bucks will make it even easier.
I'm starting to use my Quest 2 with Immersed for creating virtual work setups for coding, and basically everything new/upgraded on the Quest 3 will improve that experience. Even eye/face tracking would be nice for virtual meetings. But for gaming, the lack of eye tracking is a big disappointment; one of the coolest things about PSVR2 is the foveated rendering, which requires eye tracking. It would also be helpful for IPD adjustments, especially with an automated IPD system.
I've wanted VR ever sense my first time playing at my friends house on the first quest around 2019. I was planning to buy the quest 2 in the winter of 2021 but my mom and dad would not let me because they are anti facebook and they did not like how they owned oculus and how you had to log in with facebook. now that they are changing the whole company to meta and you are not going to have to sign up with facebook in august Im hoping to buy a quest 3. the 2 main games I would play is gorilla tag and beat saber. if you never experienced VR it is an amazing experience its like a lucid dream you can come back to.

Hey Naysy, another great video! If you read this and care to answer (or able to without losing sponsors etc) - What's your opinion on the company behind the headset? Personally, it's the main contributing factor to myself and I suspect a few others giving a hard "NO" to owning another FB product... it's not the product so much as the company behind it.
I made a recent video talking about my thoughts on Meta. (It's my Apple VR video). TLDR I'm grateful to Meta for making VR mainstream but feel like they're dropping the ball and don't care about gamers etc etc
Never understood the hate for Facebook. They are the largest and most prominent so they get picked on all the time, buy they are hardly the worst. Being one of the first and truly successful and enduring social media platforms (RIP myspace and Google+) and the largest, they've gone through everything and been blamed for everything. From politics and safety to user privacy and data. We have cellular companies that will literally sell your exact location to any bozo without a warrant, and yet people are worried about getting dog food ads on Facebook because they joined a lost pet Facebook group, something Google literally hounds you with across TH-cam, search, and Gmail, with far less outrage. It's much like how casual morons blame apple for yearly phone cycles, e-waste, labor violations, and tech obsolescence. The reality is Apple has the highest resale value for their products because they support them for years and they don't crap out after a couple years of use. That's why some people are still rocking six year old iPhones. Foxconn factories where apple products are made are far more coveted than your typical sweatshop in China. A lot of Facebook's problems are just industry wide problems and emerging tech problems, where lawmakers and hysterical mothers don't understand tech or know how to deal with it properly yet, so they lay all the blame on one company and one scapegoat that's a big enough target, making up regulations as they go along. It's always hilarious to watch one side bashing Facebook by blaming them for teen suicides, racism, and conspiracy theories, when all they do is provide a "social platform" and nothing else, and when they try to appease these idiots, a new set of idiots on the other side accuses then of anti-comservative bias and censorship. Caught between a rock and a hard place, the unenviable position of being the poster child social media platform.
Hum... probably a worthy upgrade from my Q1 but I'll hold my breath for the reviews of the controllers tracking ability under stress, ie. Beat Saber...
4:12 what's that game? I'm certainly considering the quest 3 but I really should get a new graphics card first. That way I can at least get more use out of it by using it with my pc too
Nice recap on the Q3, thanks. I’m going to buy one to mainly use for standalone mobile VR/MR. I’ll continue to use my QPro for PCVR, mainly wireless with Air Link. Thanks again mate and cheers.
Do you have any ideas what software apps Meta will provide for users to make use of the pass through and AR capability of the headset. Will the pass through allow scanning our living space like the Apple Vision Pro. It would be nice if users can change their rooms, repaint the walls and floors with different textures and place paintings and 3D objects like in Windows Mixed Reality.
well you need eye tracking for dynamic foveated rendering which granted is more of a PCVR thing but if you want to play graphically demanding titles then its pretty important
eye tracking is important for foveated rendering--reducing the amount of compute power needed to render the scenes. it's not as important for gameplay, but for increased visual fidelity in game!
I’ll buy an oculus quest 3 when the screen door effect is gone. The pixel size is far too big for my liking. Have the fixed the latency on in-room viewing? Beat saber isn’t fun to watch because of the lag.
You... haven't seen the display yet. Manually increase the texture resolutions with ADB thanks to the new processors, add in the clearer lenses and a modest bump to pixel density, I really think once you put the three of these things together, it would seem bizarre to pass on this due to visuals for any reason other than if the deep blacks are critical to you (since none of these upgrades will do anything to improve that. Are there any vr headsets you like? Any you own?
Im on my 19th quest 2 headset because of the design flaw housing the GPU and the lense adjusting feature giving vulnerability to any moisure getting in and shorting out the display
As someone that just got a quest 2, I find the black and white pass through very impressive. Color would be nice but $500 for the base version is out of my budget.
LOL at Toy Story aliens. Accurate though 😄 Quest Pro style tracking is not possible here cos it'd cost too much. So I'm very interested in how tracking without the rings will work. Another thing, I use the claw grip in Beat Saber, don't know if that'll still be possible. But I'm still rocking the Quest 1, which went out of support recently, so the 3 could be a good upgrade path for me.
My biggest question is can the Quest 3 be plugged into PC to take advantage of the hardware? Air Link is still away from being tolerable. And I have pretty respectable internet speed.
I'm probably going to buy it, but I really hope it has 2 LCD displays instead of just 1 LCD display. 2 displays allow the headset to use a lot more of the resolution, and also give a higher IPD range. If it's going to have smooth IPD adjustment, it needs to have 2 displays. Also, the Quest 1 came with 2 displays and it was $400, and the Quest 3 is $500 so they can definitely afford to put 2 displays. Other than that, the headset looks amazing, I really like the color passthrough, the controllers, and the pancake lenses.
Looking to buy was told need to hook to TV to work and Face book account . Don’t do face book and and TV on free air antenna . How much money have I saved ?
I have a few questions that would be great if someone could answer Would it be better worth it? If your original quest 2 was getting old, the battery is getting worse and the graphics are going down? Does the quest three have face tracking like the quest pro? And finally, will you be able to bring your quest 2 data over to your new quest three? Or will I have to purchase everything again?
Worth it or not is your decision, but imo: i) Performance will be better - not like night and day, but noticeable (allowing developers to add a bit more graphic detail per frame, and still keep up), ii) Resolution will be fractionally better (25% more pixels only translates to around 12% perceived improved clarity, iii) Picture quality will be improved a bit more, in particular bigger sweet spot through the pancake lenses, iv) it will for the first time allow augmented reality, at all (if you had Quest 2) and in reasonable quality (if you had Quest Pro). Point iv) is the biggest change. Does it have face tracking ? - No. Will you be able to bring over your quest 2 data ? - Most probably yes.

Im wondering if the Quest 3 controllers will be inside out tracked by the headset or self tracked. It could go both ways considering they removed the rings
since there's already a lot of quest owners, why not sell the quest 3 without controllers to get the price even lower. they can do a similar package deal with quest 2 as well.

I've owned 3 headsets over the years, and I don't know what feature would be good enough for me to feel like it would be a good idea to play with a cord. A headset would have to be truly mind blowing to make up for a limited game selection and...*shudder*... the cord.
But probably, as you say, I'm just as stupid as you say. What are the features of the psvr2 that are not just better but _absurdly and unequivocally superior,_ as you suggest, to wireless capability and a not-miniscule game selection?
@@jackfrosterton2530 There are only 2 million PCVR players using Quest 2 as their headsets. PCVR is dead. And it is going nowhere because who will pay $2000 for playing VR when I can pay $1000 for PS5 + PSVR 2. I also have a $500 Dell gaming PC for me to play steam games wherever I go. AAA PC gaming will never beat console. Neither will PCVR beat PSVR 2. PSVR 2 has already sold 600K units. By the end of 2023, there will be 2 million PSVR 2 surpassing the entire PCVR market. LOL
@@trumplostlol3007 Interesting demographics, but what I was asking wasn't how many people buy what, but what aspects of the PSVR2 are superior to wirelessness and a larger game selection.
i play beat saber with noodle extensions and it needs more cpu and gpu is needed because i modded beat saber Without a pc and i need the stuff like the quest 3 specs to run custom songs like lsot memory (wall map) because it uses a lot of walls and chroma and i can't get a pc but i can buy the quest 3 and if you want to mod then you need questappversionswitcher
Well good work as always . Only one thing though, You totally forgot about people like me who still owns Quest 1 and looking for upgrade. It is worth going for 3 or Pro or wait for another? I am using it mostly for beat saber and with oculus link playing some steam VR. I am suffering for motion sickness and apart from Moss and Alyx nothing catched my interest.
Quest 3 will be my first VR and I'm so excited! I need fall to come sooner 😭
I like the color pass through on the quest 3, but it still won't have face and eye tracking. The default quest 3 head strap doesn't look any better either. I don't like where they put the usb-c port either on the quest 3. The quest pro is more my speed.
I still use a Quest 1, only with Virtual Desktop though. I guess maybe it is about time
The Quest 2 has had major updates years after it first came out.
Quest 2 sucks. I haven't touched it for half a year. I am happy with my PSVR 2. LOL
I love playing songs on my beat saber and buying random songs I like and when I watch your videos I feel so inspired and maybe one day I’ll have enough money to buy the quest 3 I hope you see this because I want to thank you for how much you inspired me❤
You haven't tried it though? how can you give answer to if we should buy it? Really having hands on review is the only way to make informed decision.
I dont really play much but.a little more clarity, color passthrough, and a bit lighter/more balanced weight and the future potential with updates make it an easy purchase decision for me. Plus selling my 2nfor a few bucks will make it even easier.
thirty bucks, final offer
What was the game you were playing at 4:14 ?
yes, i really want to know too!
It's called "Hubris". It's PCVR-only for now, with the Quest and PSVR2 versions coming soon(tm)
@@gusar3213 tysm!! it looked so cool and i hope i can play it on my quest eventually
I was relieved when she said it doesn’t matter that much if you play games like a relative which I play like every day for the quest to because I own
I'm starting to use my Quest 2 with Immersed for creating virtual work setups for coding, and basically everything new/upgraded on the Quest 3 will improve that experience.
Nice, finally gonna upgrade from my OG quest 1.
I envy you really
At this point is there any point in buying the quest pro?
I've wanted VR ever sense my first time playing at my friends house on the first quest around 2019. I was planning to buy the quest 2 in the winter of 2021 but my mom and dad would not let me because they are anti facebook and they did not like how they owned oculus and how you had to log in with facebook. now that they are changing the whole company to meta and you are not going to have to sign up with facebook in august Im hoping to buy a quest 3. the 2 main games I would play is gorilla tag and beat saber. if you never experienced VR it is an amazing experience its like a lucid dream you can come back to.
I will be somewhat tempted to upgrade from my Quest 1. It looks promising so far, but will have to see once it releases and reviews come out.
Soon quest 1 won’t have full support so it’s definitely best to upgrade to atleast something.
@@Cogsuga tbf I'm not a heavy user - I primarily use it for PCVR and some Pistol Whip right now, both of which *should* continue to work into the future.
I want your oled screens.
Meta is ending support for your headset. Personally I never saw the quest 2 as much of an upgrade. So going to the quest three will feel great. You might even find yourself playing more vr.
@@Revon-Feuer Absolutely makes sense - will have to see with the reviews and see if the Deckard is being announced within the next year or so. I'm not rushing to jump ship because my headset will continue to *work* for the forseeable future.
@@Naysy Totally agree!
Apologies for the redundant question, thanks for pointing out the vid you covered the subject👌
Hum... probably a worthy upgrade from my Q1 but I'll hold my breath for the reviews of the controllers tracking ability under stress, ie. Beat Saber...

I'm certainly considering the quest 3 but I really should get a new graphics card first. That way I can at least get more use out of it by using it with my pc too
I'll get the most out of my quest 2 for now and I'll save up for when the quest 4 comes out with more improvements 👍

Better have fixed the issue with connecting the VR to pc. I know it's a stand alone but it's also half a grand.
well you need eye tracking for dynamic foveated rendering which granted is more of a PCVR thing but if you want to play graphically demanding titles then its pretty important
eye tracking is important for foveated rendering--reducing the amount of compute power needed to render the scenes. it's not as important for gameplay, but for increased visual fidelity in game!
I’m actually excited to see how far vr can go
PSVR 2 is more advanced than Quest 3. LOL
Tbh what’s the most important is clarity and FOV. Hope fov goes up
The apple vision pro looks amazing - in the presentation. I'm glad it's so expensive with 3499 so I can look forward to the Quest 3.
Apple vision is not for gaming tho
Nobody is talking about the audio! How does it sound? Will it make best saber sound better/louder?
It better have good audio
What would really be awesome is playing flight sim and using the augmented reality to be able to see your keyboard and tablet with all the charts.
What's about the FOV ?
No improvement there :(
Im on my 19th quest 2 headset because of the design flaw housing the GPU and the lense adjusting feature giving vulnerability to any moisure getting in and shorting out the display
The sensor between the eyes on the quest 2, anyone know how to disable that? My insert covers it sometimes and makes it go black
As someone that just got a quest 2, I find the black and white pass through very impressive. Color would be nice but $500 for the base version is out of my budget.
I could get a ton of accessories for that price that would greatly improve my quest 2 experience

Quest Pro style tracking is not possible here cos it'd cost too much. So I'm very interested in how tracking without the rings will work. Another thing, I use the claw grip in Beat Saber, don't know if that'll still be possible. But I'm still rocking the Quest 1, which went out of support recently, so the 3 could be a good upgrade path for me.
Still on the Q1 ?
The 3 will be a _huge_ upgrade.
Also adding PC with Virtual Desktop wireless js a game changer
My biggest question is can the Quest 3 be plugged into PC to take advantage of the hardware? Air Link is still away from being tolerable. And I have pretty respectable internet speed.
I saw your desk. Instead of the vertical monitor check out the LG 28MQ780-B. 16:18 format. Much better. Just bought one myself
That's kinda cool
So what about FOV its big factor that need to be improved in all quest headsets
Yeah they haven't said yet but hopefully it's better
I'm thinking of buying it but idek so that why I'm here:)
Can we see the friggin watch battery they're gunna put in this one too?
I'm probably going to buy it, but I really hope it has 2 LCD displays instead of just 1 LCD display. 2 displays allow the headset to use a lot more of the resolution, and also give a higher IPD range.
If it's going to have smooth IPD adjustment, it needs to have 2 displays. Also, the Quest 1 came with 2 displays and it was $400, and the Quest 3 is $500 so they can definitely afford to put 2 displays.
Other than that, the headset looks amazing, I really like the color passthrough, the controllers, and the pancake lenses.
do you think someone would swap a quest 3 for my vive cosmos elite
That's great excited for this ❤️
Great video! The Quest 3 looks like a solid upgrade. I'm excited to try it out.

Don’t do face book and and TV on free air antenna . How much money have I saved ?
You don’t need a Facebook or a TV. Just a phone to set it up
I will wait the release and reviews. What is the improvements on horizon worlds? still same graphics or small improvement I imagine.
Great video I’m just getting into vr thank you
I have a few questions that would be great if someone could answer
Would it be better worth it?

Hey Nay! Do you think the comfort we’re going get from the slimmer but heavier Quest 3 might merit the purchase for rhythm players? The 2 is fine, but it just feels awkward at times throwing that thing around in games.
Hopefully it will be comfier, but I imagine it would still need a 3rd party headstrap to make it better
Will games you already own be on the quest 2
and also the q3 seems have a same FOV like q2 ,this is insane,at least more like q pro,if just compare with specs I think pico4 pro is much better
Im wondering if the Quest 3 controllers will be inside out tracked by the headset or self tracked. It could go both ways considering they removed the rings
They’re still inside out tracked but with added A.I to track the hands as well. They’re not like the Quest Pro controllers unfortunately 🥲
