A very lovely dress. The colours are super on you. The tightness above the bust line would drive me nuts. May I suggest a solution which would increase your mobility and comfort. Cut 4 diamond shaped underarm gussets, 6" x 3". Stitch them together right sides together with a quarter inch seam allowance and bag them out. Carefully unpick the sleeve and side seams and slip the underarm gusset into the gap. I normally stitch the gussets in by hand (slip stitch) and the comfort of your garment is transformed. Love your vogue and thank you for the lovely inspiration. Hugs Sally
Hi Becky, gorgeous dress and lovely fabric... I have used that fabric for a kimono.. it's such a lovely weight isn't it 👌💞. Enjoy wearing your Lyra 😁💝😘
Lovely dress Becky, Liz from the baker that sews said that there is a mistake on the collar pattern, so I was interested to see what you thought, but I hear you also used the Rosa instructions to help you. Congratulations on all the new subscribers. X
I love your Lyra you've really inspired me to try the shorter version now, and buy some of that lovely fabric ;). Lovely to make a video with you again x
Such a lovely dress, I love the fabric you chose and it was really interesting hearing about the size you chose and the armhole issues. Thanks for a great vlog! ❤
I love your material and your dress looks gorgeous. I particularly like the belt idea. I’m going to try that sometime. Do you just order belt buckles? I’ve already made a comment on Sally’s TH-cam video so I won’t go into a lot of detail. I also made this dress and the collar was the hardest part. Really confusing. Professor Pincushions collar tutorial was a godsend. I will make this dress again but not in a hurry to do it as I have other plans. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Lyra. Xx
Thank you 😊 for watching pleased you like my new dress. Yes the collar took me ages as well but I think it was worth it in the end! I bought my belt buckle from a local shop to me but I think you can pick them up from eBay or other haberdashery shops. My buckle is plastic but I think you can buy them in lots of different materials and shapes x 💖
Aaah Becky, your lyra is fabulous. I'm so on the fence about this pattern, but your version is really swaying me. It looks stunning, and you look gorgeous in it. Is the skirt gathered or pleated? I think what you've done with the belt is so clever, and changed the style of this totally, I love it 🥰
Thanks Angela 😊💖 I’m pleased with the belt I made and think I’d do that again. The skirt is gathered although there is not lots and lots of gathers it’s just enough if you know what I mean! Pleased you like my dress xx
I absolutely love it Becky it really suits you, such a gorgeous fabric choice. Love the belt idea too....where did you get the circle section from? Great in-depth review of the pattern too xx
Thanks Karen pleased you found my review helpful. I bought the belt buckle from a shop local to me that’s not online unfortunately but I picked up some others from my local market too xx
Your Lyra is gorgeous! I don’t think you’re alone in regards to the collar. I was exactly the same and I’ve seen a lot of other people comment on it too. It was almost as if there were too many instructions if that’s possible!
Thanks 😊 pleased I’m not the only one who got confused with the collar. I’m pleased I got there in the end with it, although I may still have a few not perfect bits on my under collar!! Xx
Thank you 😊 pleased you like my new dress 👗. I bought the buckle from a local shop that’s unfortunately not online but I also picked up some others from my local market in a rummage bin. X
I was considering making this but I have to say the photo on the front of the pattern put me off, I don't think it sells it! It's quite similar in the bodice to the 'Sew over it' Penny dress, which is one of my favourite patterns. I'm currently working on the Sedavi dress by Pauline Alice patterns.

Thank you 😊 pleased you like my new dress 👗. I bought the buckle from a local shop that’s unfortunately not online but I also picked up some others from my local market in a rummage bin. X
Thank you for the info ☺️ one thing, I’m same height as you so did you lengthen the top as well as the bottom?🤔
Hi no I don’t think I added anything onto the length of the bodice. Feels ok now it’s finished too, comes to around my natural waist 💖😊
@@NotesfromtheSewingRoom thank you ☺️

Thanks for watching 😊💖 and for the pattern recommendation I will check out the Pauline Alice pattern. I like the penny dress bodice too x
