Forced to use Fuji X100V when my Sony flew out the car

- My Sony broke on Day 1 during my doco shoot overseas. Luckily I had my "Just for fun Fuji X100V" on me to take over. Here's my 7 months review on it.

Hows the autofocus when kids are running around?
😆 if a7s3 is a 9/10 the x100v would be a 5/10 for kids running around.
dude you are hysterical! thanks for the great work. Been shooting Sony professionally (motion) for many years. just like you said, I transitioned to fuji for fun with the X100V as well! same story. daughter named Mia too!!!

This is why I really want to try out the Fuji digital cameras!! Their outputs looks just sooo good, straight out of the cameraaaaa. There's just something about the Fuji look that I can't explain!

Very good and honest review of this camera with your point of you. I m Sony shooter, i bought a second hand X100V just when i received my Sony A7CII. I returned the X100V after 1h i opened the box. When i look your video, i think i didn't give enought chance to the X100V to surprise me. I pre-order one X100VI for my family life shoots and i m really not sure to keep it too ^^ I love so much the A7CII ... Thank you for your video. I m your fan now ^^

Mate, great production. I've unsubscribed from a dozen or more, and swore I wouldn't subscribe to another, but, you've already made me break that rule. and the X100V is amazing, I'm basically a Sony A7Rv user with a Q2 on the side, this Fuji has knocked both of them to the sideline. it's making me do things I didn't want to, like change settings and modify profiles and shit, but I'm loving it.
Glad I’m not the only one in love with this. Almost a year with it and it’s my daily carry. Especially with small kids. Thanks for the sub!

Great Video 😎. I’ve had my x100V for over a year and it resulted in me selling my Canon setup as moving back to Canon after using the X100V for a while made me miss shots when out with the Canon. There is something about the tactile dials and customisation of the X100V that makes it fun to use and nail the shots. I replaced the Canon with a Fuji X-T4 as the operation of that is so similar to the V for when I need a bigger camera with different lens options. Given the choice for a day out, I always want to pick up the X100V though!
I have the OG x100 purchased in 2011 and it's still my regular workhorse. Fantastic piece of kit and considering upgrading to the x100V.
Wow. Incredible how long these things last. The design seems timeless too.
My absolute new favourite TH-camr. Thank you algorithm for bringing me here. 35k subs is when I got here. If I could make bets on TH-camr success I would put my house on you hitting a million in a year. Easy. Keep it up mate. Also, the x100v is my most prized possession and I'm selling all my Sony gear and this video perfectly sums up why. Long live never sitting in front of Lightroom for hours and hours ever again.
2 pro tips:
1-Turn off Bluetooth and your battery will last 5 times as long
2-Bring a micro SD to usbc dongle with you to transfer pics to your phone WAAAAY faster than they app. The app is sooooo slow. Good for 1 or 2 pics but if you want your entire day moved to your phone to share on social media and to have a Google photos backup. Do this.

I photographed a concert last week where the tour manager happened to have an X100V. I held it for a few seconds, looked thru the OVF, and... was done for. I want this camera so bad now. 😂 Even though I got an A7C as what I thought of as the goldilocks solution for my "needs" and "wants".
I started and stayed with Sony after picking up an A7rii back in 2015. Fuji has whispered to me the past few years.
Xt5 plus perhaps the 2024 version of this camera may be enough to tempt me to let the Sony kit go
It's hard to let sony go if you do videos. But if photos is your jam. Go Fuji.

Oh that's tough. Since I have a 16 inch for longer editing sessions I feel ok to have 13 inch for travel. Depends what you do and study. If it's design work or video editing get the 15 inch. I might do a 13 vs 15 week in the life video.

got Sony a7ii full-frame that is 5-6 years old but only used it on a trip to Singapore Malaysia pre 2019 so it still looks brand new as its been in its padded bag, should I upgrade to a7Rv or a9ii or a1?
If it's for photos only get a used a73 it's still amazing. If it's for both video and photo, get a7rv or a7iv. A9 and A1 is only worth it if you get booked for sports photography.

Having the same internal debate to sell the sony and get an x100v but conflicted about the AF for street photography as no one seems to address whether it’s up to the job. Sony no issue, AF nails it every time. Will the Fuji?
Fuji won't keep up, but that's kind of the selling point. You need to take your time and be deliberate with each shot.
For paid work Sony any day. For leisure? Fuji any day. It's so fun.
