    Thank you for the great tip. I really appreciate that you showed us how to make this for free when you sell both catch boxes and ammo, and this tip may cut into potential sales of both. Very cool of you thank you!

    I already knew this would be an easy build, but I'm glad you already have this simple design documented for us. Thanks! 👍

    I just made one and it works great! Just make sure to follow his instructions exactly. Make sure to leave at least 2-3" behind old shirt and make sure old shirt can move freely. I got fancy and used a plastic storage container because it was what I had. Because I didn't have the flap of a cardboard box, I did have to place a scrap piece of wood to the very front to keep ammo from rolling out, but now it captures it all.

    Place a long strip magnet like the one you get for usually a buck at Harbor freight inside the box to collect the ball bearings for you. Just be sure not to buy stainless steel ball bearings, because stainless steel is not magnetic

    Think it would work really well if the paracord went through the sleeves.

    Instead of a can I think the best thing to use is a bottle cap it’s about the same size of vitals of birds like sparrows

    Thanks. Thats also how I plan to make my velocity box to measure the audio peaks across a measured distance of 2 suspended paper targets on either end of the box. Or course a free version of an audio editor program installed on either a smart phone of tablet to run the software.

    Just make two holes in the side and pull the sleeves of the t-shirt through. Save the paracord for something else.

      Simpleshot sells plastic balls ammo is reasonable and won't do damage to things it's like Nerf ammo

    I have been making multiple catch boxes problem is I can't find a target that will be quiet on impact. I live in a small apartment and everytime the ball hits the target it sounds like I'm shooting off a 22. I'm so afraid someone will complain that I'm firing guns in here lol. Bb guns of course, I assume someone would have enough common sense to know im not firing actual bullets. I have tried bottles, cardboard and a pillow all incredibly loud

    • @simpleshot
      @simpleshot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you considered using a practice ammo? We love this stuff: simple-shot.com/accessories/2y20002x/rubber-training-ammo
      Also, just keep piling up layers of old towels and such and the ammo won't make much noise at all on contact! You can cut the backstop into vertically hanging strips as well to muffle the impact even more!

    • @The9thCobra
      @The9thCobra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know this comment is super old but if you haven’t found a solution to it yet you can buy microfiber/felt spinners and use that and it won’t make that loud noise.

    • @simpleshot
      @simpleshot  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hilarious. That "Save ammo and shoot slingshots anywhere." in the title must have been just a little curious though, no?
      Funny, I've seen the throwable mic used at a conference, but never knew its brand name. Also funny is that it performed horribly. No one could hear from it! Hah!
