Hey Everyone! This time I decided to make a battle between Klipsch RP-280F vs Polk Audio LSiM 705. Second audio track starts at 4.30. What do you prefer more 1st or 2nd? Which one is Polk Audio and which is Klipsch? Let me know if you would like to see such battle but with the different types of music. Recommendations and suggestions are welcomed! Enjoy!
Not everyone listens to rock or head banger music. How about playing a little bit of everything? Sounds like a bunch of demon whispering and noise to me.
@@pro100techs Heyyyyy......that was a big change. Relaxing kind of music that I can actually listen to and enjoy..... What kind of receiver are you using to push those monster Klipsch speakers? When I first seen your video I was looking for my first pair of beginner speakers (as we all know this is an expensive hobby and wanted to get it right the first time......ahaha yeah right) bouncing around different channels and looking for reviews on different speakers. I almost went with Klipsch but when I heard them in person they were a little to bright for me and I settled for Elac speakers even though I love the look of klipsch. Everyone hears things differently I suppose.
@@joelgonzales7139 Initially, I was using Arcam A39 with Klipsch, but it was way too bright pair and then I switched to Parasound HINT which is driving Klipsch on this video. Now I have completely different setup and I will make a new video soon. I had some Monitor Audio speakers and now have B&W 804.
Funny how people are different! I hate that stuff🤗😁 give me some good Godsmack though. This sound like noise to me🙄 tool is also great! This stuff is just yelling and screaming but too each their own!🤔🤗😉😁
These are actually 2 speakers I never owned and want to hear them. I have been considering Klipsch RP - 280f for a while now, I have owned many Polk's and always loved their sound...all the way back when Matthew Polk ran the company.
The sensitivity of the Klipsch is 98db compare to 88db from the Polk's. IF, the volume of the receiver or amplifier is left unchanged while making this comparison, then the second is the Klipsch. (I think)
On the second run , there was somewhat more separation and clarity.and if I dare to say, they were more revealing. Me, myself I am a Klipsch rp280f owner together with a full blown 7.2.4 setup. But to my ears the second time it sounded nicer(listening trough headphones) If the second time it was on the Polk, I must also add that the distance between the two speakers where bigger, thus the Soundstage is wider too.you should've taken that in consideration. I reckon, you should've put polk/klipsch - polk/klipsch, instead of polk/klipsch - klipsch/polk. So that the distance would be the same between them. Just an idea. But nice comparison 👍🏻 After I've read a few comments, I discovered that the second one is actually the klipsch. Originally I thought because the polk is a 3 way speaker and they were wider from each other, that they were the second. But I realized now that the horn of the klipsch made that "clarity". And after all, I'm used to the horn tweeters. So it also explains why was the second time nicer to my ears. I reckon the polk sounds fantastic in person. I'm actually planning to get two lsim 707 later to my living room. I think they are gorgeous and they I'm sure they sound fantastic. I want something else than a horn loaded tweeter. I've noticed the klipsch is sometimes a bit fatiguing on higher volumes in some female vocals and male vocals too. I'm curious how would the polk sound.
@@pro100techs Yeah i realized , i even read the comments and made sure! Klipsch is awesome! I am planning to purchase the RP-8000Fs in the next two months! Cant wait!
@@pro100techs Surely friend! I will share everything once I get them (max 2 months from now). I am planning to make a 7.2.4 dolby atmos so in my opinion getting an AV receiver that can manage all these channels from the beginning is probably the best thing to do.. I'll get a Denon-x6400H !
Klipsch win for me, more body in sound. Good comparison and very good music for test. It's very easy to find speakers that will play jazz well, but it's much harder with metal music. I have two questions. What is the size of the room and what is the amplifier model? Thank You for this video. Best Regards.
It's hard to really tell over the Internet little on headphones or speakers have to be there really in person to really see both speakers have a very different sound signature the klipsch will always be a little bit more forward more dynamic little bit more tilted upwards and the brightness the poke audios that you have I actually own a pair of the 707s experience are the best ones I love the bass and the low end but these speakers are on a neutral site of sound if anything it's slightly on the darker side more warm more thick more powerful more robust probably a little bit more full that's the way I should say I've had the speakers for quite some time and that's definitely how they sound very thick heavy and powerful everything is balanced but it is a warmer sound. Most people tend to like things that sound a little bit more bright more fun and exciting more dynamic that's why a lot of people tend to favor the klipsch but for music it's hard to say they both sound good depends on the kind of music I have a hard time choosing which one I like more but if I really had to say I would keep the polk. The klipsch kind of have a thinner more tiny or sound to it doesn't have quite as robust and a full sound has the Polk's that's just the facts but sound is very subjective so it pretty much depends on what you prefer since you're doing the video which speaker sound the best to you. That's safe for home theater use like movies and stuff like that I would definitely take the klipsch but I would make sure you have a little decent subwoofer to get that really powerful robust low-end because those speakers won't do it justice where if you wanted to use the poke adios it wouldn't sound is fantastic four movies but the bass what sound a lot more full and more powerful still those are my thoughts great video man. 👍
Thanks for your detailed comments! I use Polk Audio for music and Klipsch for movies. And I agree with all your statements. Unfortunately, position of the speakers are not good, one set is in the corner and it has hard wall next to it. On this video my recorder picked up a lot of reverberations. Last 3 videos on the channel does not have any reverberation and they sound much more better. Still not as I expected with the external recorder.
What are you using as a music streamer I think maybe if you would try a Cambridge audio cxn v2 and hook up all your lossless flac file songs on there I think that would sound fantastic with those speakers. What is the DAC you're using and what is the model of the parasound amp your using?
I have Oppo Sonica DAC and Parasound HINT, which is integrated amplifier. Oppo has one of the best audiochips which is ESS9038Pro. I havent heard CA CXN streamers, maybe if I find one I would definitely try it. Thanks for your comments!
I don't think it's right to make this comparison because who owns a klipsch will praise a klipsch as a person who checks both, which is generally considered good?
No sub used, I don't even have any. My preference Polks, since they are not as bright as Klipsch. Polks produce better bass as well and much better mid range. Klipsch very nice for acoustic type of music
I can't believe I'm saying this as I'm not a fan of Klipschs sound and I absolutely love Polks but for this type of music, the Klipsch speakers sound really good. Could it be that horn tweeters cut through the guitar distortion better?
Not a fan of Klipsch? How is that possible? I think you're victim of bad set up or brainwashed by Danny and Ron from New Record Day. Klipsch are the boss. If my brother gets a restaurant, I'll probably deck it with klipsch. I'll invite you in. 😉
I hate when people bitch about why play sound demos you can’t tell it just sounds like my computer speakers or whatever , I use good headphones and you can hear a difference . Nice demo , I hate the weak ass harps and delicate vocal videos.
I like Polk more, it has more drive and softer at high frequencies. Klipsch is good at punch, however, it is very bright at high frequencies which is not good for metal music.
With it's recessed voice and and smoother, softer and warmer presentation. I would have to say that the second was the Polk Audio. Would like to hear them with less frenetic female vocal music. And maybe NuPrime or XTZ amplification.
Maybe next time demo something with excellent audio production like Steely Dan instead of the garbled vocal and guitar mix of Arch Enemy. Nothing against metal - this particular track just isn’t great here. Both are nice speakers, the dynamic Klipsch RP-280f more efficient and perhaps better suited for both movies and music. The Polk LSiM 707 more expensive and better built (they certainly look the part) and a more balanced neutral sound. Perfect for 2 channel listening especially with some power driving them. The new Polk R700 looks really great too. Looks like Polk hit it out of the part with that one.
Thanks for your comments. I have other videos on the channel with different type of music (jazz for example) played both on Klipsch and Polk Audio. This time I decided to choose quite load and difficult to play music just to see if this kind of music can be managed by these 2 excellent pair of speakers.
