I love to see Bronze League Heroes, it's not only my favorite TH-cam show, but also my favorite show in general. Counting netflix, tv anything. Just amazing content, please keep it coming
I will give you the bronze mindset for why they build the upgrade buildings like Blacksmith, Warmill and Huntress hall before t2: "Why would I tech I can still build buildings on this tier?" The point of tech, to them, is to get more buildings, but they don't need that yet, there's still buildings to build on this tier, so going up so soon is a waste. It's also very expensive, so they might want to save up first, do a bit more on t1. T2 does feel like it should be in the midgame, and t3 the late game, but the power of t2 means that the game played optimally dictates that t2 should be something you get very quickly in a normal game. This is counterintuitive
In games like Age of Empires everything feeds into each other and teching early before you build the next thing is instant lose, I think most people who play wc3 like it's only an rts play it like age of empires 2. That's why they want to build all the buildings "in order" (but not in a build order, just all of the things) before they tech anything. Then they want to build units, After that they will T2 and upgrade those units. After that they will fully tech everything and go t3. This is the same order as casual Age of Empires. My first few games were like that, but I was playing LAN vs. a friend, and he told me what I was doing wrong. It also turned out to be the only thing I could do right because out producing him while he tried to come up with strategies and creep paths to attack was the only way I won.
W3 was a big deal for me when me and my friends started playing here in Brazil a long time ago. Lots of good memories. Thank you for helping keep W3 alive.
You guys need to realize that taking the invu potion would be considered rude. It belongs to the other player he can't just come like that and pocket it. Another little lesson we learn from bronze players!
The Korean Broodwar ASL tournament seems to work pretty well. Where the previously seeded top 4 players in the Ro16 choose their groups out of the players who make it out of the Ro32 (first pick goes to winner of previous tournament and so on). Ro8 is then a random draw, which avoids any match throwing tomfoolery.
Sea Witch's Mana Shield blocks incoming damage, using 100% damage resistance. That means all bonus damage resist you have is set to 100%. Rings of protection reduces damage through armour, which is also damage resistance. Your damage resistances are being set to max value by the active spell to negate the damage, therefore any additional bonus is redundant. The value of mana depends on the raw damage hit, before additional damage reduction calculation. 1 Mana every 2 damage at level 1. After all, if it worked on the value of the hit after damage reduction, the hit and cost would be 0. Medusa in Dota passively uses mana as a health pool, and that mana/ health pool when taking damage is given the resistance cap in Dota (95%). Bonus tank stats won't help your mana because it is at the resistance cap, it cannot go higher on any character. The value of mana for damage blocked depends on the damage of the hit after 95% damage resist is calculated, so you take 5% of damage from all sources to your "mana health pool", and damage resist is redundant for it as well. They are slightly different. Function about the same. They work that way to stop people from making infinite sustain builds with damage reduction and mana regeneration. If damage reduction worked with a bonus 95-100% they would be unkillable or need a max mana pool of 10 (which would make them pretty boring burst checks).
As a Psychological PhD, I can explain why doing nothing can actually be a strategic move especially with Dreadlord with Vampiric Aura: 1. When you do nothing, you are actually employing the "Silent Pressure" strategy. By appearing inactive, you lull your opponents into a false sense of security, making them question their own actions and decisions, the art of doing nothing can be a deceptive and cunning maneuver just like a Dreadlord, leaving your adversaries scratching their heads and wondering what your next move will be. 2. This "Do Nothing" tactic can lead to confusion and doubt in your opponents' minds, causing them to make mistakes and overextend themselves, ultimately leading to their downfall. 3. By not taking any actions, you are showcasing the epitome of patience and composure, traits that are key to outwitting your rivals in the virtual battlefield. 4. Extra point for specifically using Dreadlord with Vampiric Aura. The presence of him alone can increase your confidence by up to 169%
As to answer why Dota 2's Medusa Mana Shield ability is similar to WC3's Naga: Dota 1 used to be just a custom map on the WC3 TFT platform, which would then use WC3's assets, and, as such, the same mechanics as the base game. Medusa, being an older hero from the early Dota 1 days, inherited the Mana Shield Mechanics from her WC3 hero counterpart, Naga Sea Witch. Hope this clarifies any doubts someone might have. 🙂
Well the Mana Shield is outside the armor you wear. :D But the real reason I guess is different scaling requirements through patches in Dota as well for wc3 back in the day when it was still being monitored.
Don't forget to keep a good attitude @Grubby. It slipped a little at times in this episode but not too much. I know you're making an effort to keep a little respect and a positive outlook, and I respect that about your content.
The key understanding that bronze league misses is that time is more valuable than gold. When I played a ton of single player I would wait forever for “free healing” waiting to attack etc
Love bronze heroes, not only is it great entertainment but you point out mistakes that others can learn from. Very informative. Are you interested in streaming ranked direct strike 3v3 a few times on war3champions? It’s like that Mechabellum game you are playing but with Warcraft units.
I seems really stupid not to use the pot but something like that happened to me. Its just that in your mind a 1000 things are going on at the same time. Like you remember you got to produce units during a fight, yeah? So your hero is not being focusses, you got your army on a-move doing its thing and you quickly switch to your buildings to queue up some units. But at that exact moment the opponent decides to focus your hero and then its just panic. You switch back, trying to select it, the you rememebr you can just press F1. Then you want to use the hotkey for the pot but what was it again? So you just decide to click it instead and by then its too late... Yup... can totally see that happening.
Regarding your story: Losing games intentionally was/is a big problem in Badminton with Asian teams! In Olympics in London they actually got thrown out for not playing to win
That's hilarious we're going to battle each other and the winner doesn't get to move on because no one wants to fight the korean undead player. I mean you tell me i'm going against a Korean e-sports person I'd want to dip out too.
As a "new" player coming back after a 20 year gap. What's the best configuration for hot keys or best place to find different variations. I'm struggling to use the default, and find myself clicking lots more than needed. Thanks in advance
WC3 copied Medusa from Dota 2. Mana Shield has no interaction with armour because it's a spell that surrounds the caster with a barrier of mana. Rings are inside the barrier, not outside. So rings cant protect barrier from damage.
Should had done the UD strat instead. NE strat was boring. Typical bears and dryads. The UD had real innovation, mass ghouls against bears that he lost to. And get all the upgrades. Now, that's creativity.
More than 40 episodes already! I've seen them all and I feel as though we've only scratched the surface of inspiring Bronze strategies.
I love to see Bronze League Heroes, it's not only my favorite TH-cam show, but also my favorite show in general. Counting netflix, tv anything. Just amazing content, please keep it coming
There's more twists and turns in Bronze League Heroes than all of the streaming services combined.

For me as a Young player it was exactly that mindest.
W3 was a big deal for me when me and my friends started playing here in Brazil a long time ago. Lots of good memories. Thank you for helping keep W3 alive.
same here, everyone at the internet cafes was playing CS and just me and my brother on WC3 :-)
eu também jogava wc3 com meu irmão na Lan house
and the fiends... they were never heard from again. they just stayed there burrowed. might as well have let them die

Phenomenal commentary on the last fights

What do you think of my point 5) He is afraid of the opponent and his army and feels safe in his base 😅

that first game was rough, even for bronze league heroes standards. but the elf build was nice
Love the series ❤
The best thing in bronze league is to see myself playing many times. Like “yeah..i really did it everytime i played”
Hearing cool stories like that 2nd place rules dispute is but one reason to sub to the Grub
*He put the pot down so he wouldnt spill it*
